Man, so many memories from watching this. I can remember me and my 2 best friends all discovering and playing through FFVII for the first time all at the same time. It was long since a PS1 Greatest Hit, but for us, we were the prime age for our first real JRPG. We'd all dabled with some light RPG titles like Super Mario RPG before but VII was our first true experience. We were all obsessed with the game all summer. I guess...the point is, thank you for bringing these memories back to the surface!
FF7 was the first RPG game I ever seen, and it blew me away. The intricacies of the systems in the game piqued my interest, and still do to this day! What a game!
Awesome video. Tons of youtubers try too hard to be funny, but you had a natural way about it that had me chuckling throughout. Thanks for the great entertainment! I actually didn't know about many of these, so this was a great first video for me to watch. I LOVE glitches so I'm confused as to why it took me so long to think to look up final fantasy glitches. You covered so much content here that I don't even need to watch another video on it for a long time. Thanks again!
yea thats right, greatest overrated game of all times D; im allrdy sick of hearing again and again what a great game final fantasy VII is. its just a game and i couldnt motivate myself to play it once again, not even the remake D;
Dorjan24 Yeah, I was surprised at him saying "reg-an." I've never heard someone misread Regen like that. He was also mispronouncing Aeris' name. I could understand if he called her Aerith, her Japanese-version name. But "Aeries"? She's not the fucking god of war. Dude can't read.
well you said her name cant be pronounced Aries because she's not the god of war so therefore you cant pronounce cloud like "cloud" because he's not a cloud right?
I always thought of it like her spirit, like she was tied to that place. And so she disappears when Cloud shows up, because she doesn't want him to not live his life by lamenting over her.
Grip Limit that was basically confirmed in advent cgildren where she appears in clouds head in the church because of how strong the lifestream is there and her connection to it, basically anytime cloud goes to where the flowers were/are he could see and hear aeris if they both wanted it, in the japanese version there was a cut scene where she talks about staying where "he could see her how he remembers her and if he needs her she will be in the place they shared" if it wasnt clear it was cloud and the church which is why its his base in advent children as its the only place where the geostigma wont grow because of aerith and the lifestream, also in the cut scene it basically says she was fighting in the lifestream to retain herself, she tried to help biggs and wedge, and helped marlenes dad enter the lifestream until she formed her consciousness enough to pull the lifestream together to attack meteor, that all got condensed into aerith looking up then the lifestream blocking meteor in the officially released scene
Mistranslationand a part of cut content as he was one of the sephiroth clones who failed and you were supposed to find 3 or 5 of them throughout the game to unlock something. Instead hes the one that falls off the cliff when theres the procession of sephi clones
Barret shoots the fireworks... Yeah FF7 was very loaded with comedic relief. The Remake is a lot more epic and serious. Take the Shinra building for instance. Very laidback in the original, even has bits of humor thrown in. I feel this is one area where the original is going to consistently do better then the Remakes.
I love every single one of these mysterious things of which there were a LOT in this game which went so well with the music and the atmosphere, made it a very unique and thrilling experience, and I hope they actually include even way more of these mysterious things on the remake including a quest to revive Aeris finding 10 keys ultra well hidden throughout the whole real world, haha, done, I said it!
One time in the beginning of the game, while taking to Tifa got the first time, I held down R1 and L1, Cloud clipped through the ground into an untextured room full of burning children...
I know I'm 6 years late, but back when my brother and I were pre-teens, he played through the game as normal; when he got to the part where you can't play as Cloud (he's in a coma I think), he was able to manually select what team member he wanted to control (he picked Vincent) Years later, we replayed the game together but when we got to that part, the game forced him to use Cid (we also looked up a guide, and apparently Cid was the *only* playable character there) Does anyone have any information? We both vividly remember him playing as Vincent with dialogue and interactions based around Vincent
It's just a false memory. I've got dozens of them based around games I played as a kid. I distinctly remember there being a male cyborg ninja demon hunter in the first Soul Edge, I even remember playing as him, but now I know it's just memories of Taki mixed with memories of Yoshimitsu from Tekken which I played at the same time. You've just got memories of playing as Vincent mixed up with Cid, probably influenced by how famous Vincent was in the Compilation. Even if you could select a team leader, Vincent and Yuffie wouldn't be choices as they're optional characters. I also remember a skateboarding section in FF7, which is obviously just memories of the snowboarding game mixed with skateboards being in all video games in the 90s.

yes, depending on the density of the liquid, they only sink so far down; it's why you need tarps, chains and concrete blocks to keep them on the bottom.
Talking about Memory retain reminds me to a cool trick I learned with my first copy of FFVII, once I got it actually the 1st disc was damaged, and when I was trying to play it, just got stuck in Sephiroth's first appear. But when you start the game with the first disc you can swap the 1st to the 2nd or even 3rd disc and it will allow you to continue the game, but you gonna loose the original cinematics, you are going to see the cinematics of the actual disc you are running. Like instead of Sephiroth taking off Jenova for the Junon Canon from 2nd disc
Saul Paredes Morales Yes! I did that as a kid. I got to watch all the cinematica very early. Not sure what made me try it in the first place, but when I got to that point in the game legitimately I would say, oh there’s that one scene I saw!
@@darkmagician You're talking about Cait Sith's Slots limit break? Lol. You know, actually wouldn't it be interesting if collecing them made that move more powerful?
Even for today, it's still pretty damn big. I've had it for three months and still haven't gotten even close to getting everything. (And it's FUN big, not "hey grab a kgphillion Korok seeds haha doesn't this extend the game's runtime?" big.)
Yuffie is best date scene. Even if it breaks the story. I'll fight you. Anyway, as for Aerith's continuity being all over the place I honestly still think the writers wanted to bring her back. They changed their minds several times and decided she had to die. Sakaguchi loved killing off characters even before this. Aerith just...meant more to people. I need to go cry again.
For a guy who knows a hell of a lot about FF7, you pronounce everything very strangely. Gelnika is based on Guernica. Aeris as we all know now from the remake is cannon at Aerith, therefore with an S should be pronounced Air-iss, not like the god Ares. Japanese don't have "th" in their alphabet. therefore S is the closest, phonetically. also true in the case of Gelnika/Guernica. and it's re-gen (ree-jen) as in regenerate. Based on the skill in the game. Cool info, and i know this is an old video. But i love ff7 and learning new stuff about it.
Aries.. that's cool, why not. I'm always naming her "Earith" because I happened to see the file names inside the game disc before actually playing the game first time and thought "That's screwy enough, I'll stick with it!"
I always called it "reagen" too, because that is actually the proper way to say it. They should have called it Regenerate if that's what they wanted people to say.
they called it Regen because a thousand years ago people who made video games could only use a very small amount of letters due to graphical limitations. This is why spells were called things like, Fire, Fire2 and Fire3. Even a simple spell like Lightning had to be shortened to "Lit". However, i doubt this means you would pronounce it "Littening". "Regenerate" simply has too many letters.
ditto. the only game i still have for it is ff7 though 😂 but i gotta say, ff7 on switch os very nice too. being able to play it wherever i feel like is great
Yes, skipping Aeris' death scene OR skipping the Temple of the Ancients before Aeris leaves WILL keep her available but it will cause cutscene glitches if she is in the party (but the final battle with Sephiroth seems to work okay). I had messed around with a hex editor and an ASM hacker, and found six empty character slots, but not just that, a whole system for character customization. As it were, this was barely half written and could only be implemented by rewriting the whole programming across all three discs, but it does seem that one could of created a dateable character for Cloud. The system also included a variable editor which could be used to change whether Aeris actually dies, among other things, such as game completion save files (like you would see in the Game Boy Advance versions of Final Fantasy). But...custom characters in Final Fantasy?!? I make custom characters in just about every game I play, if possible; why couldn't I have my own role in Smashing Shin-Ra to the ground? Imagine...a Gibson Thunderbird with Materia slots in the neck...okay...now I'm just rambling on here. I had tried the carousel ride with Vincent, and didn't get that result; more rather, it was silence the whole ride. On the note of relationships, if a certain few things occur in the game, there is a rare scene involving Cloud and Yuffie... The screen is black, but the fairly quiet BGM indicates that this is occurring at the Honeybee Inn... The dialogue is 92% written out sounds (moan, whimper, gasp, etc), but after about five, six minutes of this... Cloud: Oh, man.... Yuffie: You're kidding... Cloud: That... Yuffie: This is seriously fucked up... (yes fucked is censored) Cloud: Zzzzzzz... Yuffie: What a bore! AND you snore! The scene ends with the two standing outside some house in a nice argument... Yuffie: Oh yeah!? I knew it all along!! Cloud: shrugs Yuffie: Admit it, Cloud! You've never lain with anyone. Cloud: So what? Yuffie: This explains a lot... YOU'RE A VIRGIN!!! Cloud: No, at least not now. Yuffie: turns the other way *blush* turns back around Let's keep this between us. kisses Cloud The scene ends there, you'll likely be outside of Midgar, airship either nearby or in the Kalm area. The only non-NPC more-than-implied sex scene in the game.
***** If you have Yuffie involved in a lot of cutscenes (if you recruit her before Disc 2 and preferably before you reach Nibelheim), you'll see just how much Yuffie loves Cloud.
I had no idea. Granted, I've only played FFVII once, but still...if her feelings for Cloud are ever implied in AC or any other VII installments...I never caught on.
***** It is partially intuition that tells me, though there are obvious signs. That being said, the sex scene is technically a glitch from programming not completely removed from the game, and is referenced by addresses used by other critical game elements so complete removal is impossible without rebuilding the whole game. The scene also builds character into Cloud's personality that would inevitably not make any sense to those that know him; he's not an asshole, he's just deeply disturbed mentally. He doesn't love Aeris either; he just hates having her loss of life on his hands (But, I let you die...) Cloud is incapable of love, at least in the mutual sense.
My favourite video on TH-cam for nearly 5 years, love the nostalgia stopping by here every few days months, thanks for keeping my favourite game alive death❤️
Google: "What's that? you have evidence that you weren't convincing a single person to ad spam your videos and this block we put on your account was made under false pretenses? THAT'S NICE. Jokerfaic they cant sue because they were not employed by google, and that it was on a private company's website thats privately owned with the ToS saying that if we say no. tough shit. people like you who pull the oh you can sue card actually dont know the laws behind suing. not only that but if he dis sue google. since hes already strapped for money as is. taking on a multi billion dollar company that has several legal teams. he would get slaughtered.
@J H Yeah, they COULD do that, but it would be incredibly fucked up to do so and would hurt them more in the long run because of the damage that would cause to their reputation.
The only strange thing I ever got during the 4 times I played FF7 was that one of my characters suddenly launched a kind of limit attack without no reason at all and there was a weird message like..."All the lucky ones are lucky" back at the time I think those glitches would help to create the special aura of the game, like... everything can happen and that FF7 world is truly alive
You probably got "All Lucky 7's", which is when your HP is exactly 7777. That character goes into berserk mode and deals an irresistible 7777 damage with each hit.
@@EmperorSteele thank you !! that would make sense, will take a look, because the most frustraiting was that I always wanted to see that attack again and to explain my friends but never knew how even to explain

That thing about seeing Aerith in the church after when she should be no longer available kinda reminds me of a phenomenon in TLoZ:ALttP in regards to the Flute Boy before you get the Ocarina.
The W-item glitch exists because as soon as you select a target for an item, the game considers it as “used”. But with W-item, when you select a target for the first item the counter doesn’t go down but still gets a “used” status. If you choose a second item, the second you hit the button to go back, the game cancels the action you last completed and thus removes the “used” status on the item you had picked a target for, the game being programmed to add an item to your counter at the same time as it lifts the used status. To put it short it happens because the game gives an item the “used” status as soon as you select a target for it, the counter only going down when it is used in battle.
Probably because they're insane. Like, people saying Cait Sith like "Kate sith" annoys me, but I get it because Irish spelling is weird, but "Ares" and "Reggen" just feel baffling and they catch you off guard.

I guess...the point is, thank you for bringing these memories back to the surface!
legends of gaia was my first. mario rpg was my favorite until ff7. after i played ff7 i was hooked on them completely!
FF7 was the first RPG game I ever seen, and it blew me away. The intricacies of the systems in the game piqued my interest, and still do to this day! What a game!

It's amazing to see how broken this game is. I've played it many times since it came out and I don't remember ever having any issues. Good video.
Awesome video. Tons of youtubers try too hard to be funny, but you had a natural way about it that had me chuckling throughout. Thanks for the great entertainment! I can't believe that that's the only pronounciation that was picked up on... how about when he repeatedly pronounced 'Regen' as 'Reggen'? -_-
I think he's gotta be saying all these wrong on purpose
i got the game when it came out, and thats how i have always heard anyone pronounce it o.0
reg-an!? Not re-gen... like regeneration?
i laughed so hard when he said reg-an lmao
Dorjan24 Yeah, I was surprised at him saying "reg-an." I've never heard someone misread Regen like that. He was also mispronouncing Aeris' name. I could understand if he called her Aerith, her Japanese-version name. But "Aeries"? She's not the fucking god of war. Dude can't read.
yah but clouds not a cloud. Barrets not a gun redviii isn't red. Biggs isn't big genisis wasn't the genisis.
jakamoo1990 I don't get your point.
well you said her name cant be pronounced Aries because she's not the god of war so therefore you cant pronounce cloud like "cloud" because he's not a cloud right?
Is seeing Aeris in the church not like a hallucination's of Cloud? I always thought that, never really questioned it.
Me too.
It is not a glitch, he put it in the "oddity" section. But i have always looked at that as normal.

All your bases are belong to us
All your materia are belong to us.
That Ronald Regen though. That trickle up theory though. Yeah I say it that way too. Come at me bro.
I think the most disturbing part about this video is the way you pronounce "regen".
Otherwise good vid.
10/10 entertained.
Also I always figured cloud was in a more shallow spot in the lake lol like real lakes have insane dropoffs so it always just made sense to me.
One time in the beginning of the game, while taking to Tifa got the first time, I held down R1 and L1, Cloud clipped through the ground into an untextured room full of burning children...
I'm not even skeptical despite this sounding utterly ludicrous. Of course theres an unused room full of burning children in ff7

I know I'm 6 years late, but back when my brother and I were pre-teens, he played through the game as normal; when he got to the part where you can't play as Cloud (he's in a coma I think), he was able to manually select what team member he wanted to control (he picked Vincent)
Years later, we replayed the game together but when we got to that part, the game forced him to use Cid (we also looked up a guide, and apparently Cid was the *only* playable character there)
Does anyone have any information?
Maybe you both blocked Dirge of Cerberus from your memories so hard that it became a make-believe FFVII section.

Not immediately. They need to start decaying and release gases before they float
Ehh, just cast float...oh wait a minute...
yes, depending on the density of the liquid, they only sink so far down; it's why you need tarps, chains and concrete blocks to keep them on the bottom.
so...Aerith's corpse came up to the surface not too long after the scene, to decay there, alone...probably chewed up by wild animals...
@@Katzekaze She goes to the lifestream, perhaps it doesn't have the same properties as water?
I did it cuz I really wanted to play it

Can't help thinking these glitches make the game even better because it highlights how vast the game is, especially for 1997!!
I’ll be honest pal, you sound like you were huffing your own farts when you posted this
This is my favorite game and to know how messed up it is... Makes no difference, I still love it.

Aries.. that's cool, why not. I'm always naming her "Earith" because I happened to see the file names inside the game disc before actually playing the game first time and thought "That's screwy enough, I'll stick with it!"
Who else ships barret and cloud for the date.

Saying "regen" wrong it's like "regenerate"
Aaron M Regenomics
+Arthouse Anime *Reaganomics, brought in by Ronald Reagan.
reeee-jen
I always called it "reagen" too, because that is actually the proper way to say it. They should have called it Regenerate if that's what they wanted people to say.
they called it Regen because a thousand years ago people who made video games could only use a very small amount of letters due to graphical limitations. This is why spells were called things like, Fire, Fire2 and Fire3. Even a simple spell like Lightning had to be shortened to "Lit". However, i doubt this means you would pronounce it "Littening". "Regenerate" simply has too many letters.
I've my ps1 and still working. Bless the old days, man.
ditto. the only game i still have for it is ff7 though 😂 but i gotta say, ff7 on switch os very nice too. being able to play it wherever i feel like is great
Pretty sure it's "ree-jen" as in "regenerate", not "reg-en".
(yes fucked is censored)
Cloud: Zzzzzzz...
Yuffie: What a bore! AND you snore!
The scene ends with the two standing outside some house in a nice argument...
Yuffie: Oh yeah!? I knew it all along!!
Cloud: shrugs
Yuffie: Admit it, Cloud! You've never lain with anyone.
Cloud: So what?
Yuffie: This explains a lot...
YOU'RE A VIRGIN!!!
Cloud: No, at least not now.
Yuffie: turns the other way
*blush*
turns back around
Let's keep this between us.
kisses Cloud
The scene ends there, you'll likely be outside of Midgar, airship either nearby or in the Kalm area.
The only non-NPC more-than-implied sex scene in the game.
What she said .. ;)
Holy s**t...! Cloud and _Yuffie_ ?!
Well...that explains why he won't act on his supposed feelings for Tifa...
He doesn't love Aeris either; he just hates having her loss of life on his hands (But, I let you die...)
Cloud is incapable of love, at least in the mutual sense.
Oh, and REGEN is pronounced correctly as the first 2 syllables of the word it comes from; that is
REGENERATION....so it's Ree...Gen.
