  • NOTE: It was pointed out to me by a viewer after I uploaded this that I have a bent left rear link! I apologize for not spotting this out as I was quite sick while editing and finalizing this video. With this new realization, I think I would have to lower my score to a 9/10 overall from a 9.5. That being said it does NOT change my opinions at all on this RC and its still an easy recommend. New lower links can be had for less than 5 dollars each and are very simple to replace.

    Bent suspension link?

Oh my God your right! I don't know how I missed this in my final walkthrough. The repeated sicknesses must be taking their toll on me. I thought it was arched for high clearance intentionally I think but you are totally right the back left link is bent. I'll review my footage see if I can find where I bent it. It's certainly not impacting performance. Still that's disappointing. Good catch man!

I have now added a note to the description of this video. With the minor damage Ive lowered my final score on it to a 9 instead of a 9.5. Lower links from Losi are

Nice video i ended up going with a fms smasher and going to mod it with lcg chassis and new tires. With these losi being so new i felt parts are going to be hard to get a hold of plus its fun building something

I'm impressed with the build quality of these. Steers very well, fast, durable. My biggest design complaint is those open diffs. Otherwise, I think TLR suspension is going to be my first essential upgrade. I'm having binding issues with a shock already. Rebuild kits for the stock units are cheap but I think this truck deserves those beefy aluminum shocks👍

I did bend a link which I failed to point out due to my sickness when I was filming my closure. Still it's very cheap and fast to fix. I don't think this would be nearly as durable if the dogs were not wide open. The number of hits the diff would take that might damage it would be so high on this thing as you land off jumps with lots of throttle so that was probably the right call by them.

@@NHO-RC I was thinking something like sealed oil filled units like the Grom has. Totally open diffs can shock and stress the drive train also. Oil filled is the best of both worlds. They absorb the shock, but also avoid diffing out when you want to throttle out of a situation. I see your point though. They might have designed it this way intentionally. There's no center diff or slipper clutch, so the axle diffs are the only place to bleed off drive train shock quickly.

I’ve been looking at the LMT mini but was waiting for reviews or comments from someone besides an influencer as those to me are info commercials. I believe your experience was more true to life. Would like to have seen some outdoor runs but you also started you bought it to play with in the house so not taking it outside is understandable. You gave a good fair review & I commend you for that, thanks. Though maybe I shouldn’t be thanking you I think you just cost Mr $269 😀

Haha yeah it's also real cold and gross out side here in New England right now too. If it had been nice I might have. I will say as I edited into my vid description I did bend a link on it that I missed mentioning unfortunately. It does not change my thoughts though on it since it's only 4 dollars for a new link. Glad my review helped you out though!

I see your lower 4 link bent as well. I definitely agree with your review on this. Loads of fun. My minor gripes would be the weak suspension links however that’s from some decent bashing. Absolute strict scale performance might not bend it? Maybe it will still? My axle came way out of alignment out of the box. I also have to constantly wiggle the wiring underneath to the motor since it loses throttle like 10 times during a session. Very annoying. Performance is excellent. QC not so much. Overall I love it though

Yes I am very annoyed with myself for not seeing that when I was doing the final review. I was filming it while sick though so ill blame that. I kept my bashing pretty scale for the most part but yeah I was disappointed to see that break already. Im probably going to start swapping parts over to treal aluminum colored to go with my new planned body anyway so im not overly concerned about it. Plus it still works perfectly even with the bent link.

Rather have a switchable 2w to 4wd than crab steering, but everything else looks cool.

Great job covering the mini in such great detail. I agree that it's probably best to stick with the original motor and ESC. What's up with the rear link coming off the chassis to the rear axel? Yours looks bent. Is that a mod you did or just distortion in the video at frame 27:07 ? Super cool monster truck for sure. 👍🏁

No it's bent I just didn't notice in the video. I edited the description to mention it but I'd have to take the vid down to correct unfortunately. I didn't get it on camera I'm honestly not sure what did it.
