I Love the tall dresser‼️
Ok, me and my ex started doing storage units right after covid started. When you walked in and cacawed him i cried. We always called each other that way... I miss him. Thanks for the smile.
Oh, that just made me feel choked up, too. I'm glad you were still able to find a smile. Thank you for telling me, too
I know that I already wrote something, but... I have been using the cacaw for so long... it really makes me feel so much to read that, I just had to say thank you again for sharing it with me
I like watching you guys 😄😄 keep up the good work 👍🏻👏🏻‼️‼️
Hi it's Judy in New Mexico. I love it when he says old books cause I was born in 1950. I just laugh!
I used to put homemade candy wrap them in cellophane and give them for Christmas presents to special people!
Lots of cool stuff!!
The cute little teacups
I'm so glad that you were able to see the old books thing in a humorous way! The things from my childhood era are now being called old... it does seem funny to me, too. Thank you for the little story, too. I just love hearing those!
I really enjoyed watching this opening of old things, I just like seeing stuff that were from years ago. I hope both of you feel better soon.
Thank you so much!!! We are both feeling much better already, that is very kind of you. I just love seeing the older items, too
Woah, Can not believe that Grand Father clock made it through that locker that long. I had no Idea the flea market was opened all year. Good to know. Get better soon. Every one at my house has it to.
That's how I felt about the clock, too! I was so happy because I was so surprised to find one in such good shape. It is nice the flea market is open all year (It's just not that busy, though). Sorry to hear everyone at your house has it, too... get better soon to all of you, too!
It was definitely sitting undisturbed for a very long time!
No doubt, even the light boxes were becoming molded together
Those boots were probably inspired by Sally Starr! LOL
That's priceless! ...and maybe possible, LOL
Those heavy bowls (white with rim on bottoms) are for a mixer. 2 different sizes
Thank you, that didn't occur to me!
I, too, love old books. Some of those were in fairly bad condition, but it is not good to open an old book flat on a table. As the glue dries out with age, laying it flat further damages the spine & causes the glue for the pages to further further decay.
You can google search for the date for treadle machines using the model number.
Thank you, we did end up finding it with the serial number
They are so hard to part with sometimes! Thank you again, it is so easy, working on these to not think about something like that. I don't believe I thought about that at all
Bob the Bookman can fix those! Very cool.
Wouldn't that be something! Thank you!
Colab! Lol. I’d watch it. Curiosity Incorporated knows him too.
That would be fun to do! Lol
I wish you would have read the dates on the news paper ...what fun finds you got . best wishes selling it all. 42 minutes in that brass thing might be something for the Grand father clock? Where in MI are you from?
We were wondering the same thing about the brass thing! Thank you very much, it is quite a project, but some is starting to sell already. We are in the western suburbs, between Detroit and Ann Arbor. About the newspaper, I can't believe we didn't look at the dates! We usually do, too. This locker has been an unusual mystery, I am going to see if we can find some newspaper from it.
My husband works in AA, we live 40 minutes from work (Blissfield area)
Sorry for the weird delay, I just now figured out that these new replies don't show up automatically in the new list! We do end up in Ann Arbor a lot, but for some reason I don't think we have ever ended up near Blissfield. It feels strange that I can't picture what the area is like, being that it's not that far away
WOW UNWRAPPING MEMORIES! nice grab on the unit but that singer sweet. if you want a quick sale find someone who knows Amish people they will buy that quick . it's like the holy Grail of sewing machine. Glad you folks got over the virus
Thank you, we definitely are feeling much better. That is a great idea about the sewing machine! I think I know someone that goes regularly to a flea market in an Amish area
Nice clean 45s
Thank you, it is so nice when they are not all beat up. We find quite a few that are
my parents had that same coffee pot too. i think that was in the early eighties. in the 70's they had the bigger canister ones. i am only halfway thru and i'll have to see if i recognize anymore stuff from my childhood.
I remember those canister ones. This locker has been so fun for me with all the stuff coming straight out of the past
we had samsonite suitcases in the 70's. moms was the green set, dad had the brown set(both similar to the appliance colors) and us kids used their old cardboardish type in blue color but don't remember the brand though or actual material.
We had some of the brown ones growing up, too. I wonder if we'll stumble across some like the blue ones soon... it seems like that happens a lot, once something comes up in conversation it shows up in a locker next, lol
that long thing in the box that look a bit like a knife could be part of the clock. @ 42:12
Thank you, we were wondering that, too. I think we will have the clock figured out soon and then we'll know for sure if it is part of the clock
We use to use a knife to rob our piggy bank slot 😁
lol, that's almost exactly what we did, too. We added a paperclip to our tool kit, also
Yep, slide the butter knife in the coin drop, turn the bank upside down, jiggle gently, & the coins come out.
That's the exact method,lol
Fiesta ware dishes the pale yellow, blue ets
I'll check those out, too. Thank you again!
Captaonta candle holder is for tapered candles
Thank you, it was such an odd size it was definitely hard to be sure
A unit that is like a time capsule 😊 Some nice stuff in there and looking forward to seeing the follow up. What did you pay for the unit if I may ask?
I was wondering if we mentioned it. It was just $50!!! I think we got such a great deal because it was obvious from the photos that it was going to be an enormous job to clean this one out. It has been very rewarding, though... like you said, it is a time capsule
Many possible old Pennies etc, as old as unit is. Hope so
Thank you, we have put them all aside. I'm hoping to have a chance to carefully look over all the little stuff sometime soon
I wish you didn't just throw that stuff in the bin with the sunglasses which will scratch them up. They're VINTAGE and maybe worth money
I know exactly which ones you're talking about. I would have been so disappointed if they had been ruined! We try to be careful because we count on selling everything we can but sadly, it definitely does happen sometimes. Luckily those sunglasses did survive. What makes it more risky for breakage, etc... is that we always have a short time limit to get the locker sorted, completely emptied and swept (usually 2 days, less often 3 days).
She does not have a gentle touch with anything much. 😢
Look on the newspaper and see the date
Strangely enough, we usually do that pretty early on. This time, I don't know if it was from being sick or what, but we didn't think of it until a viewer reminded us. Fortunately, we did check in one of the videos. Most lockers we film one video, but this one has three because of the sheer volume of amazing stuff. I can't remember the exact date right now (if you've watched the videos after, you may know more accurately), but I think the dates were around 2002 or 2004 on the newspapers
Oh 😮 you should wear gloves . Love your videos . Thank you
Oh , my bad you started to wear them 😊
Lol, thank you for that!!! We just opened a large pack of gloves in the TEMU video that we posted a few minutes ago. I was so happy to see them because for some reason, gloves have been hard to keep around lately
I just read your other comment, too. You are so nice, thank you so much!!! I loved reading these ...it made us both smile!
What’s the date on the news paper?
I think it was 2002. We finally read it one of the following videos. We normally check that pretty quickly when we find a newspaper, but for some reason, this time I just didn't think of it until a viewer reminded me in a comment, like this!
Its a mass kit for sick when priest would visit house
Thank you! It's always awesome getting comments with information about the items in them
You do not charge enough at the flee market
I think you are probably right. We may just need to sell at more than one market, like we used to. We really have trouble with things just not selling when we try to get more at that market. We can hardly bring much of the better stuff there. Then we get clogged up with the less valuable stuff... making it harder to buy more lockers in search of the really valuable stuff
