100% understand about the draw to the 50s and 60s stuff even tho we weren't even around for it. There's just something about the artwork on the boxes, the designs of the items, all of it just draws you in
I was born in 67 and loved plastic models like the Aurora classic monsters with the glow in the dark pieces. My absolute favorites though were the Aurora prehistoric scenes model kits. I was always mesmerized by the art work on the boxes. I had every single one(I think there was 17 total) Around 4th grade I started to gravitate more to sports so when we moved at that time I didn’t really make a big deal when I found out my mother tossed them all out but for years still I wish I had them. 😂
Sweet tarts( the giant size),good and plenty, squirrels,Boston baked beans, Mary Jane's,carmels,Mike and Ike,lemon heads, sugar straws ( the large ones).hot tamales, red hots, jaw breakers etc...candy cigarettes.
Ok so this is weird...I LIVE in Stroudsburg, I know where this place is. I have NEVER stepped foot into there...but now I have to go there. But 21:18 stopped everything for me. I HAVE to go get that sugar bear ornament. I had one since I was a KID and it alllways went up on the tree. Sadly, I lost it in a move and haven't seen it in about 6 or so years. Stumbling on this video...and seeing that...I now have a mission!
Coca Cola tasted best in a glass bottle. This was great. I love seeing all these old toys and memorabilia. I may have mentioned it in the past but my math teacher in 11th grade had a comic book store in Downtown Melrose in the 90s. I wish you two could have seen it. I went in there with my buddy on my last day of high school in 1996 and my math teacher was showing us the unopened packages of KISS trading cards he had from the 70s. Edit: Later in the video, I noticed an old locker in with other stuff for possible sale. I'm not sure if it was actually for sale but it'd be interesting to have a locker in my bedroom, just something on my wall where I could store random junk.
I never would have thought to check antique stores to look for monster stuff. My minds eye of an antique store is a store stuffed with old furniture, clocks, and the like. Antique Road Show reinforced that belief.
Another great video. Love seeing all the vintage monsters items. Andy ? How much KISS stuff do you have. Would love to see it and your autograph collection. Have you guys done a video of your own personal collection?
Thank You!! We really appreciate it!! 🙏🧛🧛♀️ Hopefully next year we'll have the collection setup and displayed but right now it's not ....I don't have a ton of Kiss stuff anymore, just some Aucoin toys like the record player, rub n play, sleeping bag, radio etc....that stuff....I used to be a major collector and toured the country with a few Kiss tribute bands but I sold off most of that collection....still love the old school Kiss tho 🙂
Sounds like you still have some amazing pieces for sure. I used to have a ton of Famous Monsters of Filmland magazines and sold them off because I started collecting Hammer Horror books. I miss them. I do enjoy my Hammer soundtrack CDs. Great stuff. Can’t wait for the next video.
Hello from Arkansas!! Love your content. I prefer dubbed narration over all the live noise, you can hear you better. Also - gosh darn “Yoos Guys” sure are a cute couple NOT scary at all 😂
ESU was my stomping grounds, floods,Sarah st,Sherman theatre, main st jukebox, wawa, the crow for the esu old heads,or the encounter that’s a Stroudsburg old school staple store…
Cherry coke, like the ones from Frisches, homemade peanut butter cups, and my most favorite sweet thing on earth has to be baklava, its not candy but its just as sweet...lol....oh and i love those honey bee taffyish suckers from the candy isles of the olden days....cant remember their name...oh i just remembered bit o honey's.....and rock candy and of course pop rocks....mixed with coke of course....lol
I still have my Planet of the Apes Mego figures from 50 years ago I played with as a kid. And I saw that Mego reissued the same exact figures and you can get them everywhere from $12 to $20. So much for me making a killing with them. Besides the NECA POTA figures they came out with 10 years ago are so much better anyway.
You didn't point out the Michael Phelps Frosted Flakes box😅 That box was collectible because of his Bong Picture Scandle on Social Media at the time and all M.P. endorsements were pulled.
There are only 3 dog n suds left now two in Indiana in Lafayette and West Lafayette and one in Georgia or someplace like that. The company is from Lafayette Indiana so the one there is pretty much the first one or oldest one.
Aww...that was very sweet, calling Amy a sex kitten. For those who don;t know, prices are higher at antique malls, becasue us dealers pay hundreds of dollars in rent!
Typical overpriced Pennsylvania antique shop that is slowly disappearing...I run one in central Pennsylvania and business is not good anymore. 😢😢 The generation of real collectors disappeared the last 10 years and the Internet made it too easy to locate an item. (I don't buy on line because it's too easy to be scammed these days. )
I absolutely love watching both of you at the antique shops
Great video guys...LOVE seeing the Aurora monster model kits...Keep up the great work MONSTER KIDS 🧛♂
Amy Amy Amy whooo weeee girl you are a firecracker! thx for this video and of all this Amy !

The taste of the Batman cereal was very much like Cap’n Crunch
Mr Magoo doll is awesome 💪😎
Some nice Alfred E. Neuman stuff. Steve Guttenberg is the only autograph I want. Definitely consider myself a hot-dog connoisseur lol…
I live about 45 minutes away from those stores and we think it’s pretty cool to shop in that area.😊

We agree! There's something special about those glass bottles...and thanks so much for watching, we really appreciate it! 🙏🧛♀️🧛
"That's not a QR Code kids don't scan it." My sides.
The Mary Jane peanut butter flavored loved those as a kid haven't seen them in decades.

I need that Glover's sign!
Love Green River soda.

36:07 Norka you even filmed it. They still make the cherry-strawberry soda. Just search for Norka soda.
Generationed out - never thought of it that way. So true.

At the candy shop at the end, they had a whole row of Norka soda 😊
Good Catch!!! Absolutely trying it next time we're up there! -xx Amy 🧛♀️
There are two big reasons why I couldn’t pay attention to what was being said starting at 38:34 😂
🫣
I always wanted to check that place out with the dragon.
When I was a kid bazooka bubblegum was a penny and full size candy bars cost 12 cents (10 cents plus 2 cents tax).
15:54 were they filming an American Pickers episode there later.
There's a place kind of like Grandpa Joe's in So. Cal. Galco's has 100's of beers and sodas from all over the country, as well as old school candy.

Norka cola is “Akron” backwards. It is still made and available here in Akron Ohio. It’s really good!!
I did sell a collection when I retired and it did hurt. Sold all my original comic art.
You didn't point out the Michael Phelps Frosted Flakes box😅 That box was collectible because of his Bong Picture Scandle on Social Media at the time and all M.P. endorsements were pulled.
You missed a room with an awesome toy display in the engine antique shop
18:56 someday i will make turtle cake
Thats about a 40 minute drive from my place. Im going.
Who else buys the Boo Berry and FrankenBerry cereals every year besides me?
You mean you don't bring your autograph buddy with you when shopping at that mall. Maybe Rick from Pawn Stars can lend him to you.
18:28 👯♀️🐰 Va Va Voom

I'm gonna take a wild guess that Root Beer is your favorite soda.
Yes!

Yes Coney Island Brooklyn New York Nathan’s
Was that Rudolph or Bambi?
Root beer
