    RapidSet came to our store last Friday to demonstrate their cement products. Their product dries in about an hour and doesn't sag.

    Good video and good product. Used it to repair some stucco on a chimney. Easy to apply. Most stays put as shown, but you'll also get some dripping off so use a dropcloth for sure. Dries really quickly, you will have 15 minutes tops to use it all, and then your bucket turns into a weight. Start with a small amount to practice.

    One word of advise wear a dust mask mixing this stuff. It’s nasty if it gets in your lungs. Notice the dust created when he poured the bag in. Only mix what you need this material sets up fast.

      I used it one time -- that's right only ONE TIME and it TOOK ME A YEAR OF COUGHING TO GET THIS STUFF OUT OF MY LUNGS!!! BEWARE!!

      Yes, absolutely wear a mask. I've seen others using this same product in other videos and not wearing a mask or respirator...very hazardous.

    I treated my wall with Dry lock before. Can i use the Rapid Set waterproof mortar product over dry lock paint or would I need to remove it first? If so, what would be the best removal method on my poured foundation.

    Quick question on the Cement All product it says to start water curing for up to an hour once it loses it moist sheen. Does this mean I have to wait until it looks white and powdery or how do you know when to start water curing? So would i wait until it looks dry? I am using it for 1/4 inch crack repairs. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. For some reason after my repairs are done they appear to develop really tiny hairline cracks. I am using the correct ratio of 4 to 1.

    Is it necessary to use wire mesh with the mortar mix to parge a poured foundation? Or can I just get by with etching and mortar mix by itself?

    At 3:07 he says you can use more water than the 4-1 ratio for thinner applications, that would make it more fluid. Question is = Does that make it any weaker once it sets? Has anyone tried this?
    I've used this Mortar Mix once and kept to the 4-1 ratio because I thought adding more water would make it weaker. Anyone know?

    • @entropy1454
      @entropy1454 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Adding more water than necessary for the hydration of the cement, will always make it weaker. If you need it to be as strong as possible, using a superplasticizer will be the right way to make it more fluid.

    Do you recommend Rapid Set Cement All for exterior knock down texture? Its seems that it would be ideal since it has a smooth texture. I am enclosing an exterior door and the home has fiberglass base stucco with a knock down finish that I want to match.

      Use eisenwall stucco mix also a rapid set product , has much higher bonding products and does not crack at all , the mortar mix might get you more cracks , cement all is very fine or has a #60 sand which is very fine or like hour glass sand so you can apply very thin and get a smooth finish , sounds like you have some aggregate in your project

    The mortar appears to be skimmed under a 1/2". Will skimming with this mortar hold up? Also, I couldn't make out what the stucco float was called.

      With this you could make 2" thick countertop and stand on it with no support or rebar inside, check the popular countertop video on youtube. I made several of the countertops, they're awesome.

    • @williamclad7699

      This is not a pourable material, it is meant to be mechanically bonded by hand or trowel, for patching its best to slurry coat and mechanically pack in layers. Do not mix it to be pourable it will ruin its structural integrity and you will for sure get stress cracks leading to failure

    when showing the decorative pieces at the end how did they get the white looking block? I am wanting to use rapid set mortar mix but i want a lighter almost white countertop pour in place and finish... is it possible with this product to get near white? thanks.. I've spent a lot of time online looking but cant find anything about how to make rapid set turn white...

      Cementall dries this white color on its own

    • @brandonpierce1729
      @brandonpierce1729 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use a good deck paint instead of water to color the mix closer to the look you are going for. I would test a small area to see the final color as it varies depending on the paint and may look slightly different than the paint choice (lighter or darker).

      @@oobeedoobenubi well that explains why my countertops turn out tan when I sealed them! They're actually gray using mortar mix before sealing.

      No, unless you put some type of lath or chicken wire , it will go on to metal but start to chip off in time , especially when opening and closing windows, doors or bump into building

      I smeared some large metal planters out in the elements & its hasnt chipped or cracked off. I did clean, sand the metal first & wet it before applying the rapid set. I added it in layers. You can use a metal file cabinet to experiment
