It’s so weird to see Dennis and JY together without Tommy. At least in their post 70’s looks. Edge of the Century is such an odd album, but I still love it.
Is there a recording of John Panozzo talking in ANY video??? or is he just the John Myung of the band... I haven't found a moment of him talking anywhere!!
SnareForLife1995 ~ 😁😁 No he didn't. I heard Dennis do that same stupid, corny joke when they were on the "Rockeline" radio show to promote the album back in 1991. It wasn't meant against Tommy. In another DDY interview from 2009, Dennis mentioned that in 1988, Tommy had called him to get the band back together. But Dennis couldn't because he was contracted by MCA records to do his "Boomchild" solo Lp. Tommy had told him he was asked to join Damn Yankees. So if Styx wasn't getting together, he might do it. Dennis asked him to consider waiting (which I thought was inconsiderate of DDY), because his MCA record took over a year to release. But no, that "trash" line wasn't anything to do with Tommy.😏🎶
ahhh thanks, thought that came from pre Shaw. Lol he does look a little like Tommy with his minuteness:). I wonder if Ted Nugent recommended Shaw to sing and play guitar with a ball, like he does:))
To me, this album was Styx's weakest on the A&M label. Only Glen's tracks and JY's "Homewrecker" were any good. And obviously, A&M thought so too because they let the band go, after this was released. The reason, no Tommy Shaw. Glen was good, but he just didn't have the likeability that Tommy has. Which is why Styx still does so well today. This track, and "Homewrecker" were the only rockers on the album.
Homewrecker is my favorite on the album. But it is stupid because 3 songs charted. 1 sappy deyoung ballad (Love At First Sight) 1 Glen love song (Love Is The Ritual). I don't mind Show Me The Way
Well, no not in so many words. However, what Tommy did was garbage. He did it twice, at the end of the Kilroy Tour and in 1999. Tommy wants to be the leader of the band. He is so insecure that he feels there is only one way to do things. He comes off like a Southern gentleman. Tommy though, can be a real selfish prick.

Deborah Kerns sounds like he did
yes , that's what I heard to. no wonder the other guys had it with DDY. what a dam ego . puke!!
that is the awesomely talented glen burtnik. this is when tommy was a damn yankee :D
how could this have happened? My only guess is that they were both on A&M and someone forced the band to bring him in..
lifesonfan ~ Tommy was already committed to Damn Yankees, and Styx hired Glen Burtnik to take his place.

That is exactly what happened.
Not without a lisp.

Good album, wrong time. Music scene changed.

Tommy 's not the one who doesn't like DDY
