This is kind of an half truth. Every new piece of technology that comes into the theater of war, is hailed as a new frontier, yet conventional forces have never gone away. With the advent of drones, this is probably going to play out the same. Yes drones limit human capital exposure and can strike asymmetric targets stealthily, however they are also prone to all kinds of failure, and those that are not, are massively expensive. It is not as simple as attaching RDX to a four rotor drone and flying it into a building or bunker. What Azerbaijan did was a tactical force multiplier in an AO where it was a target rich environment, negating the use of advanced sensors against an enemy that was not ready to face them. Technology to negate this type of drone warfare is catching up, and just like stealth tech has its limitations, and smart bombs have theirs, drones do too. No doubt that this is another element of war, and India (as usual) is late in catching up. However, we are not that worse off than our immediate threat vectors (aka Pakistan/Afghanistan). To conclude, 2 things: 1. yes drones are a concern, but they are as usual blown out of proportion. 2. in the advent of war with either Pakistan or China, drones will not play the same role in the AO where the countries will fight, and wont have the same effect. India should invest in drone tech (mostly surveillance and sensors) because it is an effective tool for our fighting men/women as on the ground intelligence. We lack the satellite infrastructure that the Western militaries have to coordinate our 3 military branches, drones are a smart and effective/low cost way of supplementing this disadvantage, while giving us a massive advantage over our adversaries.

This is so cost effective than building a aircraft carrier.. if an enemy nation arms itself with a drone it can destroy the hull of a carrier.. and cause extensive damage in billions of dollars than a 1 million dollar self destructing swarm... India really needs to sort out it's priorities..
Yeah . While we should keenly and heavily fund research into these new technologies , unfortunately we can't abandon traditional projects which we have been working on for years and has already consumed billions
Actually there is very less possibility that the swarm drones would actually reach the carrier because they would get shot down by CIWS. But still swarm drones are really effective against ground targets.
A small emp bomb will disable the entire swarm like mosquitoes 😅
@@Sathish_12 and the target itself if not detected sooner.. usually swarms have minimal radar signature because of their size.. by the time these are detected they are v close to the target and and emp blast at such close range will disable the target in this case the carrier and the fleet itself serving the whole fleet on a platter for the next swarm.. jab tak cinema hai tab tak log...

I am a staunch critic of PM Modi, however, credit is where it is due. His presence has made other nations not 'threaten' India with military attacks and his govt. also does not hesitate to hit back if needed. How they spin the incident later for their own benefit is another issue but I'm hoping that PM Modi will deliver all / or most of what he has promised. The defence seems to be in good hands. Drone Pratap has a solution for all drone related issues.
I knew a guy who was harassed for flying drones etc by police. Now he is in USA developing drones. It was very difficult to get spares as nobody were allowed to innovate. Now we import from USA. He once said that China is ahead in drone technology.

Thanks for bringing it up. Both the countries have been in war intermittently for almost 30 years, in which period Azerbaijan lost a lot of territory to their neighbour. After the dissolution of USSR, both countries have grown but weaker here does not mean only financially. They had been losing for quite some time. They put an end to the war by using modern technology. Understand the context of the story too.

What Armenia failed to understood is the importance of ground based mobile air defence systems that are equipped with smaller missiles capable of targeting smaller drones like TB2. Armenia extensively focused on shear armoured strength and not air defence.

The thing is we still need Normal Weapons and defense systems. Drones are deadly currently because we don't have that much 'anti' systems against them. Once we a fully functional anti-drone systems, drones becomes quite vulnerable.
We are buying systems like S-400 cuz let's not forget that our neighbors have ballistic missiles too! Which can't be taken out by small systems.

Shlok. We use Adobe Photoshop to draw them in, then Adobe Animate CC to move images. Editing is like they do in the movies, but simpler and faster.
