- Is the new government in Afghanistan really the moderate, progressive version of its earlier self or have they learnt the art of politics during their 20 years of exile? Would they play a puppet in the hands of Pakistan and China or just dangle the mineral wealth they have as bait and make them do their bidding? And where would this leave India who has invested - both financially and politically - and fears a rise in insurgency. But most importantly, would the new generation of Afghans readily accept the orthodox rule or would a new resistance be born in this land of incessant unrest?

Built the Chimtala sub-station, the largest in Afghanistan, for facilitating electricity distribution in Kabul;
The Pul-e-Khumri power line over the Salang Pass that even today carries Uzbek electricity to Kabul:
Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) training of Kabul-based women in livelihood options in the areas of garments, stitching and embroidery, food processing and eco-regeneration;
and Hand-in-Hand Afghanistan (HHA), in which India’s government partnered with NGOs in northern Afghanistan to create women job-creating self-help groups, based on a tried and tested model in Tamil Nadu.

Funds the education of 3,500 Afghan students in India
Allotted 3 cricket home grounds to the Afghan Cricket Board; Noida, Dehradun, Lucknow

I would like to correct you on one thing , Taliban 1.0 didn't drive out soviets from Afghanistan , it was Mujahedeen. Mujahedeen fought the soviets with American Support and successfully defeated Soviets in 1989. Thereafter ,the soviets are gone and warlords emerged with a lot of free weapons and an established supply chain. Warlords created a lawless and unsafe afghanistan then a student organization also comprising of some of the mujahedeen commanders , worked to bring Law and Legislation according to Islam to Sharia. Students in Pashto is Talib , hence the name Taliban. My point is Mujahedeen and Taliban are different.

Afghan people must build their own independence movement. Afghanistan needs to have a freedom struggle like that of India, South Africa or any other colonial nation. That is the only way permanent democracy can be established. Thousands will be killed during the struggle, but the end will definitely be in Afghanistan’s favour.
Taliban is the will of the majority of Afghanistan.

I think its too early to decide about Taliban based on their history...
Because we indians also fought against britishers both with weapon& without weapons.(in that time if consider Hindus ruling then our history like Sathi sahagaman padathi, Cast based ruling and Education, Many think wrong[but later part changed with great Spirit of many great thinkers].
