I am FROM BRITISH COLUMBIA CANADA! The Indigenous People of British Columbia have many stories of the Sasquatch. Years ago, I met a couple who went camping in Northern Alberta and about 70 yards away, they saw a tall dark hairy figure who was standing up just beyond the tree line. The wife said that her and her husband just stared at this creature in shock and he stared back at them! Then the wife said out loud but in a respectful manner….” We are here in peace and will not harm you..”. She said i KNOW HE DOESNT UNDERSTAND ME BUT I JUST HAD TO SAY SOMETHING…. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE creature disappeared for a minute, then he came back out with a FEMAILE and TWO SMALL HAIRY CREATURES… and then they all stared at each other, then they disappeared. So the couple decided to go in their trailer and they would leave in the am. So that evening they threw some apples in the area where they saw the hairy creatures…. The next am when they left, they checked out the area and saw a number of foot prints but what was AMAZING is that the apples were gone!! But they also FOUND TWIGS THAT WERE LAID DOWN ON TJE GROUND THAT APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN PLACED THERE ON PURPOSE!!!! The twigs …..the couple felt that this was a THANK YOU FROM THE HUMANOID FAMILY……this is the most incredible story I ever heard! But I am from British Columbia and I grew up respecting the legend of the Sasquatch…..they seem to be super intelligent beings! The couple said they felt non threatened….

There is a story about a guide to a homeless camp in an Oregon forest near Portland. He told the person he was guiding, if you make contact with “them” avoid eye contact. Walk backwards hunched palm up, and having apples to offer will get you out of there alive.

This is one of the loveliest encounters I’ve heard of. Obviously they don’t vocalize the way we do, but there’s no reason to think they don’t understand intention. Her calm, non-threatening reassurance and the reaction it cause would seem to indicate as much.

Years ago, my aunt and uncle use to hunt in the deep back woods of B.C. They usually camped near a river or creek. One early morning they went down to the river to get water, don’t know what river. Several feet up the river on the other side, they spotted two of them getting a drink. A larger one and a small one, probably a child. They spotted my aunt and uncle and took off into the woods very quickly. They were completely covered in fur and the large one was very large. My aunt and uncle traveled and camped in the backwoods for decades and had never seen anything like that before or after. They always talked about that experience.

I guess the little hockey match attracted a bunch of the Bigfoot. The one in the tree probably just wanted to get her better look at the game. It's good to know they didn't try to get aggressive around the house, I feel bad for the little friend that was so scared.

I grew up in the country. Where we lived houses were literally a mile apart - it was mostly farmland with lots of large wooded areas. One summer a schoolmate friend and I went camping at a state reservoir - I think we were only maybe 12 or 13 years old (before high school). This was back in the 70s so I don’t remember exactly - but what I do remember was that the campground we stayed at was very isolated around this huge reservoir. But there were Park rangers around so we never felt like the area was unsafe. But the first night, about 2:00 in the morning, we heard someone walking around outside. We were both terrified because it was big - not like a raccoon or possum. We were both frozen with fear - after about 10 minutes of not hearing anything, and assuming whatever it was left, my friend got his flashlight and slowly unzipped the tent closure - as quietly as possible. When he turned on his flashlight there was what we could only describe as a Bigfoot about 30 feet away just staring at us. It slowly backed up and walked away. We never heard anything else walking around that night so it left. We were so scared and we had no car and they didn’t have cell phones back then so we had to endure the rest of the night. When our parents picked us up the next day we were so glad to get the heck out of there. And back then, we didn’t know anything about Bigfoot - it wasn’t talked about - at least not where we were.

Not saying people don't go into the woods alone - I do that myself but certainly not at night lol. I'd find it a little creepy is all, not saying there is anything wrong with it or not enjoyable (it's more so an appreciation/admiration that he's able to do it)... I think everyone is reading way too much into my comment. FWIW, I spend tons of time out in nature/the woods (I legit spent 6 months last year doing van life in Canada/Alaska) so it's not that I don't get or appreciate that part. Just the alone in the dark part, lol.

I am a witness to Sasquatch..In 2016, I was a traveling solo female in my campervan driving in the back roads of Colorado looking for a good camping spot. I was on a remote dirt road with forest with tall trees on each side of the road. All of a sudden, a tall, large hairy creature about eight to ten foot tall, walking on hind legs, came out of the trees onto the road. Facing me, He stopped in the middle of the road, put his arms overhead, appearing to stop me. I hit the brakes about 50 yards away. We had a staring match for maybe 2 minutes. Then he turned and walked back into the trees. I watched him until he disappeared..There was a relaxing feeling while we stared at each other and very surreal.

God I hate that. It doesn't always mean something..sometimes they just all stop for bit and then start back up. But it always feels incredibly creepy and unnerving, especially when you are way out in the backcountry where you are truly isolated and on your own, and you know that it COULD mean that there is a predator in the area. I'm never unarmed when I'm in the wilderness. I've had an encounter with these creatures where I saw 2 of them while hunting..they snuck right up on me while I sat in a treestand and were about 25 or 30 yards away from me before I noticed them. And I'm not at all convinced that these creatures are all peaceful and benevolent beings that mean no harm to anyone. I got a good look at these 2 creatures, and they are definitely a people of some kind. Some kind of subspecies of hominid that is closer to beast than human, but very obviously human enough to know that they arent actual animals. That they are some kind of people. And they were not friendly. It was as clear as it would have been looking at any person who had truly bad intentions that these things were not there to be friendly, or just curious about what I was doing. They were very clearly angry, and wanted to harm me. They weren't just "warning" me either. They weren't trying to have me see them, because they were visibly startled/disturbed when I finally did notice them. How the hell they even got that close before I did was almost incomprehensible, because there wasn't much brush or tangle where I was at, and the trees were close enough together for there to just barely be a closed canopy overhead, but spaced far enough apart for me to have clear shooting lanes all around the tree and a line of sight for a good 60 to 80 yards almost all around me. It was like all of a sudden they were just there about 25 or 30 yards away, in front of me at my 2 o'clock. My eyes must have scanned over them several times before my brain registered that I was overlooking something, and at first I thought that they were trees because they were standing so unbelievably still and quiet. Words just don't even do it justice, but it's like they can be so still and so quiet that they just kind of blend in with everything. And when I was staring at them for several seconds trying to figure out what I was looking at, and I saw the wisps of hair on the tops of their heads blowing in the breeze a bit then could clearly see their faces and bodies and locked eyes with then, one of them kinda cocked his head in a jerky motion with this twisted expression of surprise and anger, and I swear I thought that I was going to die. Their demeanor and expression and everything about them said that they were hunting me and hadn't wanted me to see them. I mostly do traditional stickbow hunting, but I had been out of town for almost 2 months working, and I missed archery season. But I really wanted to filled to my tags and get some meat in the freezer, so I was out with my rifle. And I honestly believe that was the only thing that saved me. They recognized that rifle for what it was. I had instinctively lifted it to my shoulder to get a closer look at them thru the scope and one of them took a quick step back while the other let out this unbelievably loud and almost spine shaking scream, and then faster than I would have ever thought possible for such huge creatures they took off. I mean took off like being shot of a cannon. One ran one way, off to the left, and the other went the opposite direction off the right, and it was so fast that I couldn't have followed either of with the scope if I had wanted to. And they were whooping and screaming and sounded like a couple of freight trains running thru the woods. They were out of sight in just a couple seconds, but I could still hear them for quite awhile. I still heard their whoops and hollers when they were quite a ways off in the distance. It was the single scariest event of my life, and it turned my whole world upside down. It changed everything for me. I didn't even believe in these things before this encounter. I lived in Missouri Ozarks where sightings are common, and had always heard stories, some even from my Grandpa and Uncle, but I just never believed any of it or paid much attention to it. It was all silly to me, and so I never felt very inclined to give it any thought, let alone serious consideration. It was just a local tells tales to me, and all my life of being in the wilderness and hunting and I never saw anything, so I had no real reason to take any of it seriously. It's changed everything for me tho. I still hunt and I still go on my wilderness excursions, but it's not the same. It's always in the front of my mind. I've never been able to feel anywhere near as comfortable and content in wilderness anymore as I once used to be. And it's almost become like an obsession now that I can't get out of my head. And no one takes the topic seriously, and aside from being able to talk like this in the comment sections of channels like this, you can't really discuss it with anyone without being ridiculed and made fun of for it, or people thinking you are either crazy or a straight up liar. I mean, to be clear, nothing good, not a single good thing, has come from it at all.

This is such a good story! When my kids were little we lived 20 miles out of town in the woods, we were the only ones there, but one night we were up talking listening to music me and my kids. And I got the most horrible sense of fear, I mean fear with capital letters! I could feel something looking in the window I couldn't see anything out there, but I had the most overwhelming sense of fear, and I think my son was scared too, but there's nothing we could do we locked the doors, that sense of fear I've never forgotten. We lived in the woods in northern Idaho in the mountains so anything was possible up there I suppose. I was so scared.

It sucks that you had to go through that experiencewith your family...terrifying.
I had an experience with unexplained fear like that once too.
I live in a town of 1100 fulltime residents. Our little town is in a valley surrounded on all sides by mountains. My life consists of being outside and in the woods. One day I was cross country skiing on a trail. I was totally relaxed, enjoying my solitude in the woods. Out of nowhere a sense of complete fear gripped me and I had an overwhelming need to turn around and get out of there! I never saw or heard anything but I did turn around instantly and headed towards the trail head. About 10 minutes later the fear left me as quickly as it had arrived. I have logged thousands of hours in the woods through my life and that was the one and only time I have ever had an experience like that. It's crazy the level of fear that just washed over me. It bothered me so much, I won't go into the woods alone anymore. I always have someone with me.
I've never been able to explain why that sensation came over me.
Honestly, I don't know how hunter's can walk into the woods in the dark and sit there silently for hours! Hats of to them!!

That's a very unique encounter. I have heard one from a friend's brother who was about 65 at the time and his health was declining but he told me that back in the nineties he lived in some newly constructed apartments on lake fork in Texas. He had put out some small solar lights around the outskirts of his back patio. Beyond the patio were weeds about 3' deep and they went back about a 100' to the wood line. He noticed at night time he would feel the ground vibrating not from anyone above him but it was in the ground like heavy footfall . One night he got up off of his couch and slowly cracked open the blind to look out to see what the noise was and he said he seen a very small child sized creature covered in hair down on its knees and it kept reaching out with its finger touching the solar light as if it was amazed by the light. After it touched it a few times out of curiosity it stood backup and went off into the weeds. Up to that point, he didn't know anything about sasquatch or give 2 sh*ts about the subject until that happened.. He also seen several adults standing just inside the wood line on 2 different occasions after that. What you're doing is much needed. People need to know they exist.

I don't think I'd have the cojones to go out into the backcountry in the US or Canada, sure you've got massive expanses of breathtaking beauty but no, I've heard too many of this kind of stories. I served in the British Army in W. Germany back in the day and we had to go out on isolated 3 man detachments, at night one would be on radio watch while the other 2 slept. There were stories about escaped lunatics, or wild boar (which are in the forests out there) but they were just that. Still when I had to go out of the vehicle/tent in the dead of night to check the generator I always made sure I took the machete we had for clearing vegetation, just in case.

I live in Silver Creek BC. I have spent a LOT of time in the bush around here over the last 26 years, harvesting firewood, hunting and so forth. If you carry a firearm into the bush you will never hear or see anything unusual. Without one, all kinds of odd things can happen. Several times my son and I have come across saplings that have been snapped off 12 to 15 feet from the ground and leaned into a center point as though they were supports for a tent. If you use a branch to beat on a tree, you will quite often get an answer in the form of a similar thumping on a tree, or a vocalization of some sort. We have also found reddish brown hair caught in tree bark, branch ends and the like, plus seen large footprints in the mud by creek sides. None have been complete or totally clear imprints. There have been a couple of times when things have been thrown in our direction, but not directly at us. If you act abusively to whatever it is that's out there, you can be sure that they will aggressively retaliate. If you leave what one might term "trade goods" (usually foodstuffs) on a flat section of a tree or boulder, they will be replaced by stones, pinecones or other things from the forest. Of course any forest dweller will take the food, but not replace it with other items as though in trade. I have come across big cats, wolverines, wolves, coyotes, bears, Moose and other deer, but I have never seen one of whatever these things are.

My uncle lived a mile or so away and, one night, was disturbed by what he thought was a bear on his porch and ran out with a 30 30 to deal with it. According to him, instead of a bear, it was 9 ft tall ape like thing, all hairy and stunk like the devil. Anyone who doesn't think that the creatures exist are in for a huge shock if they spend some time in the wilderness! I was duck hunting with my father here in Louisiana many years ago and I saw one watching us my father was paddling around putting out decoys and I was in my blind and I saw what looked like a huge black hairy blob in the prairie grass! As my father set out the last decoy and he turned his perogg back towards his blind I could see two red eyes peering from the black hairy blob and then it stood up looked at me and turned and walked back into the Cypress trees and bushes! This thing was huge. It looked like the tallest linebacker I've ever seen huge shoulders no neck slim waist huge thighs! The wind was blowing from behind me so we didn't smell it and it was gone fairly quickly! Back then no one talked about sasquatch or Bigfoot or anything like that! I had no idea what I saw! After countless nightmares my mother asked me why all of a sudden I was having nightmares! I told her what happened that morning! She told me about a conversation that she overheard between her parents were my grandfather had a run in with one stealing animals out of his traps! A couple years later after football practice she took me to the drive in theater and we saw the Legend of Boggy Creek! That was the first time I knew exactly what I saw that morning! I have had a addiction of having to read and research everything on the subject including doing some of my own research out in the woods! Anyway peace out and stay safe brother! Cool story!

The year was 1962. For all of my 16 yrs. of my life, the North Carolina Wildlife Commission told or let it be known that there were no mountain lions/cougars/panthers in North Carolina. Taking them at their word I spent many a day out in the woods unarmed and unprepared. On a beautiful crisp fall day after arriving home from school I decided to go squirrel hunting. I had a .22 cal. single shot rifle in my hand and walked into the woods on our 40 acre farm for about a half mile to where we had about an acre of corn planted and not yet harvested. As I came very slowly over the top of a ridge I caught movement in the corner of my eye so I instantly froze to take a look in that direction. Approximately 50 yds. away there was a male cougar slowly moving away from me along the edge of the corn field. How did I know he was a male. Well, I was close enough to see! The hair on the back of my neck stood straight up! He was huge, older looking, with a long tail and his coloring looked sort of a dirty yellowish tan. The wind was blowing in my face and his as he moved away. That is the only reason He had not detected my presence , and I was glad ! This ole country boy knew if I shot him with a .22 cal. rifle it would just make him mad and I might wind up being his supper! I stood there and watched him slowly walk away. When I was sure he would not be able to see me I broke into a hard run back to my home. I never hunted squirrels with a .22 cal. again. From that day on I carried a 12 gauge shotgun with a couple of double ought buckshot shells in my pocket. So much for the info from the N.C. Commission! You just never know what is out in the woods, so be prepared! True story! POMO

    Really cool and chilling story.
I enjoy hiking, sometimes in the woods I remember your stories and it makes me instantly a bit jumpy despite knowing that in Europe there are no such encounters (that I've heard off). But never the less wilderness can suprise you no matter where you are. There is one spot where I felt unsetling discomfort the first time I went - I shrugged it off. It was windy that day and the trees were making lots of noises, branches were crackling and breaking. A few weeks later I went to that same peak - this time the weather was a bit cloudy but calm and still. But when I got to that same spot - sort of a pass going onto the next peak - that eerie feeling has reemerged. I looked around - maybe ther was someone around- a hiker, a hunter, maybe an animal or something but I couldn't see, hear or smell anything. There was nothing but this dense feeling of anxiety and silence. I ended my sunday hike at that point. And I havent been there since.
Thanks for the work that you do Chris. I always enjoy listening to you. Cheers from Slovenia !

When I had my Sasquatch encounter, it was entirely a vocal encounter, I became a believer. Whatever that large creature was (or still is, it could still be alive) made me feel threatened and a bit scared. My buddy (we packed horses and hunted in remote mountain back country) and myself were camped beside a small pothole mountain lake. Leviathan Lake to be exact. We were there fishing and camping with our dogs. Relaxing next to our campfire one late night, some critter a few hundred yards up into the forest above the lake, began a low guttural bellowing that crescendo into a high pitched scream. That 'animal' yelled at us for fifteen minutes, one low guttural bellowing scream into another. We could hear that whatever was doing the bellowing and screaming was a very large creature, just from how deep and powerful the bellow would begin. Human's can never mimic that type of deep roaring bellowing scream, our bodies are not large enough to create that deep a resonance. It's like hearing a lion roar, you can tell those are large animals from how deep and powerful their roars are. So too this creature. Fifteen minutes of silence after that first sequence of bellowing screams. Then again, for another fifteen minutes, more bellowing into screams. Then silence again for fifteen or twenty minutes. That went on for four hours. During that time it seemed the creature up in the forest did not move from the spot it first bellowed and screamed at us. I heard a recording some years ago made in Washington State by a Sasquatch hunter. That recorded bellowing scream was pretty much identical to what my buddy and I heard. Strangely, I had heard that when Sasquatch are around dogs will just lie down and go to sleep. Our dogs (cougar and bear hounds) were hunters but when that bellowing screaming started, instead of racing off up the mountain to take on the other critter, our dogs laid down by the fire and went to sleep. They did not respond to that creature in any way. We are experienced bushmen. Grizzly encounters, many black bears very close at times, big game animals of every species, we had seen and experienced them all many times. What ever was bellowing and screaming at us that night had us spooked. Unlike ourselves, we quietly packed up our camp early morning, hiking out to the big lake where our boat was pulled up on the shore. We never even spoke about what had happened for several hours and we never hiked up into the forest to where that critter had been to see what we could see. I don't know why we didn't investigate, except that we were really spooked. I've heard bears roar and cougars scream, but no animal I know of can start so low down and rise up into a high pitched scream all in one effort. So yeah, Sasquatch. I believe they exist.

Chris you are an amazing storyteller. Certain parts of the story made my hair stand up. Reminds me of the fear I experienced at about 11 years old. I was a Girl Scout and my troop was on a camping trip with lots of other troops. My best friend and I were assigned the task of escorting the parents from their cars to the campsite. It was very dark and we only had flashlights. While leading One set of parents the Dad obviously thought it would be funny to scare me and my best friend. He was telling a scary story and my friend and I both got tears in our eyes and the mom made him stop. Too late...we were petrified and had to walk back in the dark by ourselves. I experienced the same hair raising fear while listening to your story. I’m now 69 and I loved it. Got my blood pumping for sure!

In the age of satellites and all other technology, I find it strange, that huge, hairy creatures have not been tracked down. A few years ago, I was driving through Kit Carson National Forrest in Northern NM headed for Dulce. I saw a vehicle every other mile, spooky! But nothing strange came out of the endless Forrest. However it made me wonder, how in an age before drones, helicopters, planes and satellites, the US Cavallery was chasing down the Apaches with a few troops in such a huge area!

I have to assume that maybe I'm not alone in thinking this story is one of the more believable sasquatch stories I've heard. The Canadian wilderness is vast endless forest. It's as if they had to carve each settlement and city out of virgin forest and are always on the verge of being swallowed by the wilderness once again. There a lot of land up there that nobody has set a foot before. It's not like the US up there. The Maine forest is similar, especially in the north where 75% of New England's old growth forests are.

There's 3 main reasons people don't believe in sasquatch, one is because city people don't realise how much of their nation has never been touched by man (more than 20% in most nations) second is, people who live in the country for their whole life may never see one but there are many people who see one after 40 years of being an outdoorsman and they don't tell anyone because they don't have anyone to tell except other hunters at the bar who they're scared will make fun of them. The third are those who see or experience them the night they move to their property and talk about them all the time. those people are often brushed off as the crazy person in town

I'm from west central Alberta, just outside of Jasper National Park. I've heard many stories from people who have had experiences whether negative or positive, with Sasquatch. I leave a bag of apples every week, same spot, same 50-foot spruce in the back 40, and never had a problem. We often, over the years, heard vocalizations. They've never sounded aggressive toward us. Alberta is full of everything to sustain such a being. The mountains, forests, (miles and miles of forests) water, prey of every kind, even farmer's oats crops. They're a favorite of the bears, so I would assume their diets would be similar. Like we humans, omnivores.

Beer or no beer, lights or no lights, night or day, you would NEVER get me out there with less than 12 other folks each with an elephant gun, and even then, I dunno…these things are FAST and top out at well over 1,ooo lbs. Humans are likely an item on their a la carte menu, depending on circumstance, hence those hikers who just up and vanish (folks, try to not be the last hiker in the line)

Same, George, same. I grew up on a 275 acre farm. Mostly forest, with some open land for hay production. This was near the WV line, by the New River. The nearest house was a mile away, no streetlights. We played in the woods as kids and at times would get a very uneasy, spooky feeling and we'd run out as fast as we could. There have been some very strange sounds at night. Highly strange indeed.
Now, I live in the city. I'm happy to have street lights and all the modern conveniences. The family still owns the farm but I wouldn't go back up there for any man's money, or any amount of weapons.
