Frenchie for the win!! I may need to purchase some more from you soon. I have been absolutely hammering rainbows at my local river with your Frenchie and even a really nice size brown on it as well. Great Video once again Eric.
Fished that section once before. Ran into a big rattle snake and haven't gone back since haha but it is gorgeous in there. Another awesome video. I especially like the biginning. Good work brother.
I highly recommend Driftstone flies! I have caught many fish on Eric's flies. My personal fave are his thin mints but if he offers it, it can catch trout.
That's a tough one around Mt. Shasta the wading is all pretty rocky. Hat creek might be your best bet. There are some small streams I could recommend, but you're going to need to find smaller water.
How you liking the non-euro specific 10ft 4wt? I'm looking to follow suit but not sure what make and model I want to go with or go traditional and make euro stuff work or go euro and make traditional stuff work.
I hear ya on having to choose a single rod. A euro rod will be softer and probably feel lighter to cast, but it's not super great with fly line. I love my 10ft 4wt recons, it's not a super fast rod, so it can load up a mono rig pretty well.
Back to watching fly fishing, maybe get excited about fishing if i can get away from work. Nice videos! Good to see the pretentious fishing critics still abound in the world.
There is no single such thing as "Holy Water". Any water that fishes well is "Holy Water". OMG! Eurodorking using a bobber? Using a net on a small fish? For God's sake, don't fall in!
@@kpmurphy2738 so what are you arguing for? I can cast loops with my 20lb mono. You shouldn't need to mend if you don't like nymphing under a bobbers. I can cast dry dropper out to a out 25 ft with this set up too.
@@driftstone The point is, you are not casting and mending so you can feel the drift, you are looking at a bobber. That does not require a ton of skill.
@@kpmurphy2738 Respectful, I am casting. I can do the exact same cast with zero flies tied on as I can on fly line. It just has less mass and won't go as far. If you're mending, you should not feel anything, you don't have a direct connection with the bobber and flies.
Great vid - love days like this, especially in places like that!
If you're ever south of the border, I'd happily give ya the tour.
@@driftstone that would be pretty cool, thank Eric!
I can tell exactly where you’re at just by the color of the water.. nice video.. thanks for not naming the river!! Fish on!!

Those Frenchie's man, I'm telling ya. They're some kind of magic, I'm glad they're working for you too!
Very excited to see an Eric Leslie video!!!!
Thanks Rosin, it was stupid hard getting this out, need to get back into a rhythm.
Good day on the river! A Driftstone insider told me we should get some stillwater videos soon! looking forward to that too.
Lies, damned lies :D
@@driftstone You have a mole in the org.
I was there in october when it was dusty and dry, super cool to see the same river so green and vibrant
October can be another great time of year to be down there. Lots of hatches and it can rain too. Always fun down there
Man, that is some awesome looking water! Great video as usual. Cheers!
It's a special place, one of my favorites!

Ehhh a huge rattlesnake never hurt nobody 😂
Hope you've been out fishing
@driftstone maybe not lol but that thing had me on edge the w h o l e d a y 🤣
It’s always a good day when Eric Leslie uploads…
:D Thanks bro!
New subscriber. Hit the button because you fished all my favorite flies in this video! Beautiful river.
Thanks Franky, definitely enjoyed your videos! Loved the one with the angler excuses lol

☝🏾 I second that
Thanks Dave and FreeForm, that's part of why my videos have been slow. I've spent a tone of time tying for folks. It's humbling!
@@driftstone You are my go to fly guy! But feel free to take time for other things...LIKE FISHING!!!
👎 this is the most nonsensical rubbish
Are you fishing in Oregon or Washington.
It’s a good day when Eric drops a vid!!
Thanks Oz, need to get back into a rhythm
Oh my...a new video from my FAVORITE angler brother. Gonna settle in!
Thanks brother!
Great video man. Always appreciate your content. Cheers.
Thanks Ben, thanks for watching
Absolutely stunning ☝🏽
Great video shots, even underneath the truck.
Thanks, those were fun to get. Got this cool magnetic mount so it was pretty easy to get, was just afraid it would fall off.
Been a while Eric, great video and fishing!
Thanks Andrew, it has been killing me how long this video has taken. Time to pick up the pace
Hello love videos what river would you recommend for someone that is disabled that can’t walk the rocks the big rocks to fly fish thanks for the help

Awesome video. Makes me want cold weather again!
Oh man, I'm so ready for fall already :D
👍 been waiting awhile for a new episode
This is the longest time between videos in ages, can't let that happen again
Looks like the South Fork of the Smith.
Good guess, due east of it :)

No kidding. You left idaho for California 😮
Born and raised in California, maybe one day I'll end up in Idaho or Montana. Its too hard to live here anymore
@@driftstone I must have misunderstood. Ithought you said something that led me to believe you moved. My bad.
@@tl56kmair I've talked about wanting to move up north, hope to in a couple years..no biggie
This is in the greatest state if you are eondering, CALIFORNIA
Long time no see. I miss your videos my friend. Always entertaining and beautiful scenery.
Good to see a comment from you, Hope to get the cadence back up to normal here!
Would be nice to mention the name of the river.
That’s a big no no in the fly fishing community. It’s called spot burning.
So if you fish the Mississippi river you cant say its the mississippi because thats “spot burning”?
Lame
@@Jo-xx2rd the Mississippi and the Nile Rivers are the exception.
Trust me on this one. You don't want these rivers turning in to the Provo. That used to be a peaceful river to fish. Now it's grand central Station.
Cet endroit est magnifique . Bonjour de Louiiane . bonne peche .
Merci d'être passé. Est-ce que vous pêchez en mer là-bas ?

I like catching fish
