The Spice Girls Istanbul concert was an artistic triumph and should be available in its entirety for everyone to appreciate. The girls were all obviously nervous, but the sheer energy of the night brought out fantastic performances from each of them. And the band! It was superb. Real musicians playing music of the highest quality with passion and power. Every player on that stage was great. Whatever you think of The Spice Girls generally this concert was something extremely special, a magical event, and it should be released.
This was a pivotal moment in my life watching this concert, its embedded in my brain ... i wish i could replay the day i first watched it on Pay-Per-View over and over again.!
I remember being able to rent a vhs tape at a blockbuster that had this concert and other bonus scenes. I rented it so many times until they went out of business. That and a few other vhs tapes the you could rent went missing and still to this day i can not find them. I watched spice world so many times i know every single line from the movie. Lol I used to play their Playstation video game for hours and hours and i had every barbie and every in my pocket book and every little thing they ever came out with. Lollipop candy. Posters. Binders note pads books pencils pens shirts lol I even had the same dress posh spice had. The dark purple dress with black velvet floral swirls. It was from an adult flirt magazine. My mom saw it and got it for me even though it was considered lainere lol

The backing band don't get enough credit here. Especially guitar, synth and drums. Such as good live recording. The spice girls sounded so good with that band

I bought this VHS back when I was a kid and watched it RELIGIOUSLY. I could do all the dances, sing all the songs, and yes....I'd be reenacting it as I watched night after night. I will always love THE SPICE GIRLS!
I did not give a toss if these girls couldn't sing great. Their energy, chemistry and entertainment ability were completely off the charts. No one can ever touch them.
Alana yes you're right... even the great, two-evening concert at Wembley 11 months later (though marvellous) is missing something... difficult to tell what. Here at Istanbul it's their very first, true full concert... no mistakes allowed, it's all live, they're at the top of the world after just 16 months under the spotlights... possibly their motivation here was at its climax. Wonderful girls, great music, unbeatable funny moments. Ciao from Italy.
Yes! I was at the ROTSG tour in 2008 and loved it. But I would have preferred IYCD as the opening number and SUYL later on. I don't think any of their tours has ever topped the Istanbul show because this was them at their most 'spicy', imo only.
This was their first live show, they were shitting bricks backstage. I had the VHS video of this and the preparation was thorough and professional. All five girls worked their socks off, as did the backing band, and the result was a great gig. For me, Melanie Browns energy and Melanie Chisholm's voice carried the night, they really came through. Geri's absolute fearlessness was inspiring, Victoria's dancing and attitude to the job at hand was admirable, and Emma was cute and gutsy at the same time. A superb effort.
They weren't the best singers in the world, but the way they sing the bridge at 2:46 shows they knew how to use what they had: Melanie C and Emma do the high harmonies, Mel B and Victoria do the low harmonies, and Geri fills things out. They sound great.
It’s the Synthesizer and guitar parts in this live version for me!❤ Mel B’s opening rap is so smooth to this flow and Geri’s sexy Spanish 2nd verse.😍 I prefer this live version to the album version. The Demo version of ‘If you can’t dance’ is awesome as well. It’s more raw and has that late 80’s NYC HipHop sound.
