  • In this video I'll be doing a comparison between the Mclaren GT3 wheel and the Formula V2.5 X. For reference, my experience is mostly based on Assetto Corsa Competizione. Product links:

    Another key difference you forgot to mention is the Formula wheel has rev light while the GT3 wheel doesn't.

    I wish i knew how to cut a carbon front plate for the McLaren rim! That would help firm up the structure giving the wheel that need rigidity.

    I agree with you. I am still in a quandary as to which one to get. I want the podium module as well, but the McLaren wheel doesn’t take it, but the formula wheel is small. I currently have the Clubsport RS Wheel and would like a formula wheel, but still undecided

    Hello, just wondering to your McLaren GT3 shifters have the same exact audible tone? For some reason my right upshift paddle has a more pronounced louder clunk sound, while my right one has a more muted clunk and can hear the "click" more because of it. Both click the same when pushed slow to test it but when normal use the right upshift is louder forsure. Just wondering if yours is like this? Thank you!

      Hi @SpartanA31xx , I don't think I have this issue, both sides clicks almost exactly the same.

    I currently have the BMW GT2 and Formula Carbon and am upgrading to the QR2. I really want to love my formula rim but it is just too small, especially after jumping off the 320mm BMW rim. I tend to spin the car turning too quickly into corners or not catch slides smoothly because I can’t power through the FFB smooth with its smaller radius.
    I’m sure with some driving time I would adjust but I really wish they offered a 300mm formula option. Odds are I will end up selling it off and giving the McLaren a shot in hopes I can switch between the two wheels for different events and still keep my muscle memory. Lots of people seem to like it.

      I think they do have the perfect option for GT3 racing - the M4 GT3 wheel. It just carries a hefty price tag for being perfect 😏

    I’ve been using the Formula v2 wheel for ACC and it does feel a bit cramped, especially for long races. There’s also more buttons and dials than I think is really needed for ACC, so I’m considering switching to the GT3 wheel. I wish I could justify the BMW wheel, that price is insane (but it looks sweet)!

    • @tm21simracing
      @tm21simracing  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep they really need a GT3 style wheel at the clubsport price point. I finally pulled the trigger on the M4 GT3 wheel so hopefully I get the best of both worlds now! Will report back when it shows up

    Still love the gt3 idc if its more plasticky I always find myself grabbing that over the 2.5x. Everytime not even joking lol
    The reason the 2.5x felt firm and more detailed ffb is its smaller thats how it works.

    • @tm21simracing
      @tm21simracing  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is firmer because of material and construction, yes size is also a factor. You can try grabbing the wheels with both hands and twist them. The Mclaren GT3 will bend quite a bit, the formula will not.

    I just got the 2.5 and I like it but, it hurts my right hand a bit. I have either arthritis or carpal tunnel and I never have this issue with regular wheels. I'm thinking about trying the GT3 wheel instead since it has a bit more room. Kind of sucks because the formula is very nice quality.

    im surprised that u cant tell difference QR1 and QR lite, QR1 should deliver more FFb detail due to better flex
    but thats just what i feel after comparing clubsport RS with QR1 vs GT DD wheel with QRlite..
    already bought QR1 with GT3 mclaren v2. . will find out❤

    • @tm21simracing
      @tm21simracing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I was a bit surprised too. But I only did the comparison using the GT3 wheel, which is not super rigid to begin with. I think a soft QR will make a rigid wheel feel soft, but a rigid QR is not going to make a soft wheel feel any better.
