Appreciation comment for Magnus' editing style. The amount of time you spend on editing really pays off in the finished product. Great video as always!
I like the reason why Pete chose that first route. "It seems kinda funky and fun". Seeing what he climbs in his free time and also following The Wide Boys, yea. That is more his style for sure. :D
Not about the video, but... found your channel a month ago or so, and I knew about climbing before but this time I was inspired enough to try it myself (did it for the first time two days ago) 😁 Really loved it, so, thank you (:
@@jonbraid2520 for now not really tbh... Climbing is not so popular here, we have only two small places to climb in the city, and both of them are more than hour-away-drive from my place so it's really challenging to keep up 😬 (but I'm looking forward to continue do it regularly when I won't be spending 2+hours on the road only, and hopefully they'll open a couple more bigger gyms cause this field seems to grow here lately)
@@aylon1678 Oh that's a shame, I used to do the same for 9 years, traveled hours and it was expensive but when we could we used to get a few of us to share costs and after 5-10 years theres a few new gyms closer opened up and now I have one literally 3 minutes walk away which is incredible! So I just started climbing again at 41 years old after 8 years off I thought I'd be like a beginner again and I used to climb V8-9's but I was doing V4's which I was really surprised, I'm not as strong or fit at the minute but still have the technique obviously which helps. Hopefully in the future there's something closer for you too.🤞
Good to see some nicely filmed lead climbing! You should try once a haul bag pull-up like system for the cameraman ;) would be more silent than the lift going up.
Quality of filming, editing and vlog is brilliant always a boss collaboration with old sausage fingers, such fun to watch ! PS. Them trad routs are well tasty love the grey looks so futuristic.
I love watching you guys climb and the different styles and attributes you both have that compliment each other, always great videos and inspirational too, thank you. Watching Magnus go up that speed climb wall was like watching angry water flowing up hill, Pete you are beast too good sir. Keep it up gents.
You two doing videos is just amazing, the energy and connection you have with each other. A little climbing bromance. Want the two of you just climbing real mountains for a week somewhere.
@@magmidt I think many of us ought to be getting ready for exams now 😅, yet here we are watching your videos 👀🤫... Good luck to Marte and to all my fellow students!
Awesome to watch Magnus climb with someone who is also on his skill level and even better in some aspects. Makes the competitive stuff more entertaining, but it's also nice to see how they tackle the technical parts.
10% like to view ratio looks good for your channel, and over 1/3 sub to view ration is great for the vid only being a few hours old. I'm so happy to see the community support you so much, Magnus! Let's hope the brand keeps growing. I'll keep doing my part. Well done, my friend!
Watching Pete's videos with Toby, got me into Pete's other videos, got me into Magnus' videos, got me into Adam Ondra's videos and so on. What a likeable and compelling bunch you all are. Super compelling.
Love to see you two climb the same route, chosen by someone else to make a direct comparison of your styles. Both so smooth and precise, but one incredibly dynamic and the other carefully thought out and placed. I want to see them without the route differences!
I really love that grey triangle route! Showcases a lot of moves that are only occasional on the other routes I've seen. I hope more gyms pick up on this idea. I mean, how can people really improve at something if it's only occasionally available? AND this speed climbing thing was super fun -- I've seen the comp speedsters but this is the first time I got to see it at a more reasonable pace. Thank guys!
I wish I could speed climb instead of being really slow on climbs. I’ve been very inspired by you to become a professional climber myself one day I’ll just keep training until I get there
Not sure if a video like this would be possible, but would be cool to see behind the scene at how holds/volumes are designed/made. I’m so curious! Great video as always!
This actually makes me do my exercises! Seeing guys with insane "useful" strength is so much more inspiring than seeing body builders or, umm, "fitness artists".
I really like watching your videos, as I feel it improves my ability to read routes. just trying to predict how you move is really fun, but you have a more powerful style than me, so you often do things that I just couldn’t
They may not make for viral videos, but I can assure you that those of us who subscribed for the climbing love to see you on the lead wall, especially when Pete or Marte are involved!
Hey Magnus, just wanted to give an update. I made a comment a while ago and I started climbing way more often and I am going to be in a climbing club. I have found a new inspiration and whenever I can I watch climbing videos to see techniques and I enjoy it. Climbing is one of my most enjoyable passions that I want to work towards improving my skills. You have been a huge part of climbing for me so I thank you.

Ahhhhh I see what you did there
Underrated comment
Genius.
Ok so that's now speed climbing and double dynoing i need to practice for next time 😂
Cheers again for the fun video Magnus 💪
you should collab with Will Bosi - he is such a great speed teacher!
Brill how willing Pete is to try things he thinks he won't be good at
Magnus seemed to be in an awful hurry to end that video when he saw you improve 2sec on the last run.
Dude you should totally collab with a speed teacher and come back and SMASH Magnus. Little rivalry would be excellent!
how about speed crack climbing
Pete's laugh is one of the best, purest and warmest things in the cosmos.
I agree ,I agree, I agree, I agree!😐
Too bad he is taken by Tom :(
@@jonasswanson1691 And Mari
@@dave_h_8742 Tom first thought. Lets be honest Pete looks at Tom the way I look at a fudge Sunday.
😂
10 seconds inn and Pete is allready going on about climbing the weirdest route possible, you know its going to be a good one!
of course, he aint an average pete😝
Those volumes were so cool!
Ah yes the classic "Is that blood" when you see a dark brown spot on a hold.
it's never just blood! it's a sacrifice for the climbing gods!
Appreciation comment for Magnus' editing style. The amount of time you spend on editing really pays off in the finished product. Great video as always!
Let's get Magnus to a million and Wide Boyz to 100k!
He's at two millions 2 years later.
One day there will be a new speed route, a crack speed route.
Now this sounds like a pipe dream
Such cool routes! So nice to see lead climbing on this channel again!! Thanks man, love your vids!
5:58 I was like, what the f*ck, the wall's tilting mid climb? Panic attack just watching, before my brain caught up that it's just Magnus on a lift.
People gotta sub to pete man, he is like a pioneer/legend in crack climbing
I love the way you edit the music in your videos, always feel smooth
top 5 reasons to sub to wideboyz:
1 - pete's laugh
2- fun educational content
3- horrendous/dirty crack adventures
4- constantly making up new wacky techniques
5- paddling
Liking these Whitbo videos, keep them coming!
I'm a simple man. I see Pete in the vid, I click.
exactly :))
I enjoyed the Jazzy 60’s keyboard solo while Pete was climbing, made me think of him investigating a crime on a lead route 🕵🏻♂️
Is that a blood stain? 🧐
Yesss! Me too!
Magnus is pretty good at picking music and editing videos.
I like the reason why Pete chose that first route. "It seems kinda funky and fun". Seeing what he climbs in his free time and also following The Wide Boys, yea. That is more his style for sure. :D
Love how both of you work together! You make an amazing duo & amazing videos together!

They're fun to watch.. Always with the funky climb
The gray route looks so aesthetic!
I could watch a full hour of these climbing videos from this gym. Especially with Pete and Magnus climbing, really impressive to watch.
Good to see some nicely filmed lead climbing!
You should try once a haul bag pull-up like system for the cameraman ;) would be more silent than the lift going up.
You guys have such a good vibe in these videos, feels like Magnus fell in love the first time he crawled down in that crack dungeon
I feel like Magnus likes the kind of people who are into training hard, fun second. I bet he thought that dungeon was great.
Pete seems so chill and relaxed! Love the vibes
Watching Pete climb (start 3:18) is like watching a textbook presentation of technique. Nice.
The camera work is exquisite in this vid. Composition is incredible. Really feels like I'm floating up the wall with you guys...

Would love to see a collaboration with Parkour athletes like Storror, I think Magnus would be naturally good!
The best couple in climbing, Magnus and Pete🤙
Pete is such a chill guy, no wonder how he kept calm cclimbing a 700m + solo. Great video.
The first climb looks so beautiful and modern but also super hard and weird. Nice

Pete's got that quintessential mountaineer build. Wiry physique with sausage fingers lol 😂 perfect for climbing.
Good that you mentioned Wide Boys channel again! Jiust subscribed because of that and Pete deffinitly deserves more recognition.
That first lead route looks amazing to climb and aesthetic af
Really cool to see how easy you and Pete find route climbing.
That first climb was one of the most interesting ones I’ve seen in your channel so far, really liked it ❤️
I love magnus and Pete together. Where’s marte?
