Wendy the resin has to be deeper than the paddles on the mixer. Use the mixer for a bit stop and scrape the sides continue mixing never bring the paddles above resin. This will create a lot less bubbles. So I have seen others demonstrate.

I was going to say the same thing. I seem to get less bubbles when I use my mixer. I haven't been able to work on any of my art stuff since mid-april until this past week. I totally forgot to put my resin in warm water before using it. That definitely helps with making less bubbles too. I just learned a new tip. Keep a sealed jar with some alcohol in it and then after you are done mixing, put the mixer paddle in the jar and let it run for a little bit. I got lazy with my previous mixer paddle and it h!s a thick build up of dried resin on it! Oops!

Istoyo have a lot of really good and well priced items, including resin and other resin curing machines. I have found that I can use my Dremel tool on the lowest setting, inserting a small piece of bent coat hanger or angling a wooden stir stick, works a dream. I let it sit for a little while after mixing with my colors and find that depending upon the resin I use, I can get very few to no bubbles. And using a lighter, I can remove the last bubble bits in the mold.

I prefer to use those types of mixers for concrete, resin Crete, etc. But they are better than nothing! I have neuropathy so stirring for 5 minutes or longer can really do a number on my hands, fingers and forearms. I have a double-epoxy mixer that my husband made…he’s so awesome -been married for 32 years!!-I love mine! You can change fittings (pvc) so that you can mix medicine cups, reusable silicone cups, red solo cups…I’ve never seen one this versatile…and I get NO bubbles!! ***I’m a bit of a control freak, so I still stir, but only for 30 seconds or so-but it’s totally unnecessary! I even made a fitting for pens-yes, I can use my mixer to cure ink pens! I’m sure this company has great products-but I’ll be sticking with my mixer-it’s the best one out there!! ***I have a picture I was going to attach, but it’s not letting me attach it… let me know if you would like to see it and I’ll send it or you can view it in action on TH-cam

Wendy, why did you use a huge bowel to mix up a small amt of resin? Of course air gets in. You have to be deep enough to cover the mixer head entirely. Put it in , Then turn it on. Use a narrow cup for small amounts. If too small of amount, use your stir stick. I have arthritis so I use one, and love it..❤

Hi can I ask about the resin.. in the past I had a really bad skin reaction even using safety equipment. Can you recommend a resin I could possibly use. The one I reacted too was a half and half product.
Sadly if you have a reaction to resin it’s not going to change. I can’t get it on my skin but as long as I wear all the safety equipment I am fine. I can’t recommend any Though some will have less effect on you than others. The only thing you can do is try them yourself. Make sure you have a gas safe respirator Good strong gloves (not nylon) and change them every time. Have a warm ventilated room. And leave the room when removing your respirator. That’s the best thing’s I can say Hope it helps 😀💜

I have bought everything I need to get started but it’s winter here and we can’t open the windows while using the resin in the lounge so my sister and I will wait until the weather is better. You should see my stash, and now I’ll have to get more after watching you with that amazing tattoo (which I happen to have a supply of). Will need the light and extra powder colours. I don’t have a dedicated room which is a pain unless I throw the kids out 🤣. I want to learn as much as Ican and you taught me completely new processes and I am so grateful. Honey you will fail sometimes and the trick is to learn and move on 😀😀 We have all been there for sure but the best advice I can give you is 1 make sure you have a good quality resin 2 always use ppe 3 make sure you have a good supply of isopropyl alcohol 4 enjoy every minute of your creativity 😀😀😀😀 You sound like a already talented person, so I’m sure you will take to it like a duck to water. But you have to start right at the beginning 😀😀

I love this wolf project and I have this tattoo. Couple of questions. Do you think it would still look the same if the first outline was done in black? I am in Australia and can't find the transparent here. Also, i am guessing epoxy should be ok for the first layer?
I think Black lining paint would work well if you followed the outline 😀 2part epoxy should work fine, but make sure you stick it down well before hand, because it will shrink and curl. Have fun 😀💜👍

That wolf is just WOW!!!! Artist Till Death has the Istoyo mixer that they sent her WITH A STAND! We have all been waiting for them to sell that! She was always complaining about mixing resin lol.

Hi Wendy, Love the wolf. Never thought of using tattoos that way. I love wolves and have quite few wolf and big cat tattoos which I use to transfer to canvas , may give this idea a try now. Its really different. Love the colours you have used on the wolf they are brilliant . Thanks again

It’s red but still has a very slight pink tint to it. But it’s bright for sure 😀💜

I have bought everything I need to get started but it’s winter here and we can’t open the windows while using the resin in the lounge so my sister and I will wait until the weather is better. You should see my stash, and now I’ll have to get more after watching you with that amazing tattoo (which I happen to have a supply of). Will need the light and extra powder colours. I don’t have a dedicated room which is a pain unless I throw the kids out 🤣. I want to learn as much as Ican and you taught me completely new processes and I am so grateful. I can’t wait to get started. You are one very talented and creative lady. My talent extends to cardmakimg and upcycling furniture which makes a mess inside the house. Thank you so much.❤️ I have to admit that I am a little afraid to start, which is probably why my stash is so big. 1 make sure you have a good quality resin
2 always use ppe
3 make sure you have a good supply of isopropyl alcohol
4 enjoy every minute of your creativity 😀😀😀😀

I love this wolf project and I have this tattoo. Couple of questions. Do you think it would still look the same if the first outline was done in black? I am in Australia and can't find the transparent here. Also, i am guessing epoxy should be ok for the first layer?
I think Black lining paint would work well if you followed the outline 😀
2part epoxy should work fine, but make sure you stick it down well before hand, because it will shrink and curl.
