- I was excited to review the 2024 Norco Sight as it's a 150mm (rear travel), high pivot bike that sits between the big trail bike and small enduro bike categories.
Being in Moab it only seemed fitting to test the Norco Sight on the Captain Ahab trail. Captain Ahab provide you with some great technical ups and fun chunky downs. Really a perfect test for a bike like the Sight!
PROS
High pivot design feels great on ups and downs! It's very supportive and provides a ton of traction without feeling like the bike is lengthening as it sits into the suspension.
Suspension feels very active in the chunky downs and can handle a lot more than I was throwing at it.
Cockpit is very comfortable and you feel right at home from the start.
Great build right out of the box! I would only change the saddle and brakes due to personal preference, but that's not needed at all.
The head tube angle provides confidence on the downs and actually the technical ups as well.
Great looking bike. This matters!
You can make this bike a 170mm (fork) and 160mm (shock) if you find yourself getting rowdy more often than not.
CONS
At 35.1 pounds the bike feels heavy. I could definitely get used to the weight, but it made the bike feel less poppy than my Revel Rail 29 when bunny hopping or hitting small kickers.

Damn boy! Every TH-camr should watch this, every single aspect is perfect and I'm only 3/4 through 👍
Thanks Patrick! Cheers!
Got my Sight C2 2024 yesterday. I had the old model before and always thought it is awesome but sometimes i wished i had a little bit more Travel. I thought maybe the High Pivot will give me a little bit more room but hearing from you that changing the Travel is possible i eventually will do this.
Right on! Such an awesome bike!! I'm stoked for you! I'd love to hear how you think it feels once you've increase the travel.
How do you comapare the old sight vs the new one. Next year, i will be looking for a new bike and the sight is on my list. I would like to know if the high pivot is a must or i should go for the old sight. Looking for something that climb well (Without being an XC) and something that rips on the downhill.
@@philfort7886 I don‘t have it for a very long time now but i think i noticed already some points. Let’s start with the boring stuff - Climbing: It climbs really really well for it‘s weight. If you are not on a hurry long days are not a problem if you somewhat fit. It also climbs very well over technical sections. The rearward axel path is not a problem at all. One thing i noticed is that its not a sprinter. Probably because of the high pivot it feels like there is some drag to it. So sprinting uphill or even on a flat section in a trail is not its upside.
But on the Downhills - What a Bike! I loved the old one. I was confident and i had so much fun but the new one is even better. First there is just a little bit more potential in the rear end. At bigger hits or very rowdy section i always thought the old sight could give a litte bit more… even it could handle way way more than what you would expect out of a 150mm Bike. And to be fair it was maybe in 10% of my rides something i noticed. But i only have one bike so the fact that the new rear end is even more capable without giving up the agile and compact feeling of the Allmountain Category is perfect for me. The second awesome fact is that its just so easy to change it to Mullet. At home where the trails are very technical and narrow i prefer the Mullet set up. If I’m on Bikepark missions or on Trails that are faster and not so tight (like in Finale Ligure) i just change the wheel and turn a round the Links at the Suspension and the bike is even more capable in the rear end. So 10/10 i would recommend if you want something that does it kind of all. If you have a burlier Enduro or even a downhiller i would recommend the old one because its just a little bit lighter and for very long days just a litte bit easier to handle.
@@Aveal Thank for te reply. Really apprciated. That what's I am looking for. Another question which one climb better. the 2024 sight or the old one?
@@philfort7886 hard to say. As i mentioned above acceleration by pedaling is not its strong point. So if you need a lot of momentum for a technical section the old one is better. If you are going „more or less“ steady over the Rocks, Roots and steps the new one is awesome … there is just so much traction. For long Climbs (on fire roads) its just the weight that makes a difference. The new one is quite a bit heavier.
Ohlins is built for racing bet it was better on the dh at speed really looking at this bike but idk so many hard to choose lol great vid
So hard to choose! Are you able to ride this bike and see how it feels? I think that's the biggest thing for me. I have to ride them to know for sure.
@@TheVantasticLife think they have demos in Sedona just so hot lol
@@lifebehindbarsonemansstory2189 Totally worth it to ride before you buy! You can go in the morning 🙂, that's what our friends that live in Sedona are doing these days. Good luck!
Do you know what shock stroke length you would need to make it a 160 in the rear?
I don't, and Norco told me to reach out to my local dealer to get all the info.
Ok thanks I'll check into it
205x 60 trunnion saw it on the website
Thats set up long is S4 the xl?
For Norco there are 5 sizes. When I rented the bike I asked for a Large and they gave me Norco size 4. Here's bike link with the sizing. www.norco.com/bikes/mountain/all-mountain/sight/24-sight-C1/
