Awesome truck for sure. I guess batteries do make a big difference. So far I haven't noticed a big difference in C ratings with the batteries I have. I thought 120c was a high rating but 240c ... Wow!
Most brands use a different method to determine C ratings, so it's really down to the manufacturer battery chemistry. My Hoovo "50C" packs aren't even 35C, because they'll occasionally trigger LVC on a fresh pack in my Felony, which needs a minimum 35C battery. Which indicates that the Hoovo aren't really 35C The only C ratings I trust are on SMC and CNHL batteries. There are of course other "good" battery brands I don't have personal experience with, but your budget batteries are gonna lie about their C rating 75% of the time. That's my opinion. No offense meant, I'm open to being wrong, but that has been my experience with budget batteries. I'm not saying go out and buy some Gens Ace, in fact, my experience with their batteries has been dead cells happening. PS: this CNHL battery is 120C continuous output with 240C "burst" which indicates it can release 240C in short bursts, not continuously. Not that I'd complain, 240C continuous would drain your battery in under 10 minutes probably.

I end up with a weak or bad cell and sometimes they are recoverable. The hobby store told me that they just charge it for a few minutes after a run and all is good. Now I'm hooked on the Spectrum Smart Batteries only for simplicity and because I don't do speed runs very well and crashing into a curb at 4mph faster is not a win for me. lol It would be nice to have a battery with a high C rating for some of my small cars like the Grom and just keep it with stock electronics. No, if it fits the truck it will be fine. The only thing is how you drive. If you're full throttle the whole time, well that's going to generate a lot of heat, but that's true for all RC cars, and even real cars. But they have thermal protection in most cases so if you exceed a certain heat threshold, the ESC will likely cut power to around 1/2 until it cools off. But the battery itself is completely fine, you'll just have immense battery life.
The Redcat is what I thought the MJX 10208 was going to be. .. MJX was the man for maybe 3weeks..... Da ground clearance is what really held the 10208 back.. but overall its a cool , okay truck but the Valkyrie is a out the box nut ball🤓
@jwill9690 thank you for enjoying our content. The vorteks is great but only after the spur is upgraded to the steel one. The Valkyrie comes out of the box with a full metal drive train.
@@Rek_Rc yeah that sounds better, a stock car should be able to handle its own power. Can I ask also, do you have someone flying a drone around or some kinda “follow me” drone getting those great shots you get? I’m guessing it’s a person right? A very talented person it appears.
This Redcat drives better than my 6s Big Rock, Mojave 6s and Maxx. It is also just as stable as a Talion exb and it is now my favorite vechile. They could have easily charged double the price and I would still be just as impressed. There literally is no comparison when comparing to the v2 Maxx. This is faster, handles better and is just as tough. You'd be crazy to waste money on a Maxx with this Valkyrie now in existence, for literally half the cost.
I totally agree with much of what you said. From a technical/cost standpoint, you're spot on. But I also realize that certain RC cars speak to some people more than others. Take the Maxx slash for example, it's certainly the fastest out of the box SCT I've ever driven, and probably the fastest SCT RTR on the market today without tuning. I love to drive it, but many hate it because it's over priced if I'm being totally honest. But I still love it. But Redcat really did hit the bullseye with the Valkyrie hands down in all measures.
The only 2 downsides to this car is that are. 1. Compared to what's out there, it's a little harder to take apart and service 2. Some may get the updated shocks, some don't literally every car is a raffle 😂 hell the shocks themselves may be different on the same car (i think redcat addressed this) Would like to get one still though
I heard about the thing with the shocks. Kind of a funny thing to have happen. Luckily mine seems to be holding up so far. I've also heard it isn't as easy to work on as say, and Arrma 3s. But, it's durability has been very impressive so far, so I'm hoping I won't have to work on it too often. I hope you pick one up, for the price, the performance is well above its weight class so to speak. I'm just so impressed with Redcat lately. They are doing all the right things, offering incredible performance and quality for several hundred dollars less than other name brands .

@@jwill9690 someone flies them in FPV, usually Tado is the one flying
You can fix that rig chassis back to flat no problemo
Thank you, we're going to give it a shot, that little truck is worth fixing.
Shhhh
Don't encourage a price hike
@peteralbury7724 you make a good point
WHOOSH!!
That's how it feels driving one. Sounds like it too
The only 2 downsides to this car is that are.
1. Compared to what's out there, it's a little harder to take apart and service
2. Some may get the updated shocks, some don't literally every car is a raffle 😂 hell the shocks themselves may be different on the same car (i think redcat addressed this)
Would like to get one still though
I heard about the thing with the shocks. Kind of a funny thing to have happen. Luckily mine seems to be holding up so far. I've also heard it isn't as easy to work on as say, and Arrma 3s. But, it's durability has been very impressive so far, so I'm hoping I won't have to work on it too often. I hope you pick one up, for the price, the performance is well above its weight class so to speak. I'm just so impressed with Redcat lately. They are doing all the right things, offering incredible performance and quality for several hundred dollars less than other name brands .
So, why didn't you take it to the skate park?
I've got plans for it before I go replacing parts. The skatepark conquers all, even the XMAXX.
NIIIIICE 👌
Thank you sir!
Valkyre looks like the same car all over Aliexpress. Is it?
It could be, but I wouldn't trust it without doing some research first.
@@Rek_Rc True. It’s a great price for name brand support
My Cat will be here in 2 days..Yeeeeeep
It's a really fun, and so far reliable RC.
@Rek_Rc looks like it. Love the races. Where are you guys runnin those races?
The suspension seems poor
I actually think it's pretty good it handles really well out of the box.
Redcat=299.99 big rock = 290.00. big rock is cheaper.
For the moment maybe, but the big rock 3s will go back above 300 soon. They do run specials from time to time.
@@Rek_Rcand a 3s big rock will not out run the 4s in the redcat I would assume which would make the redcat better to me.. 3s to 3s it would probably be a tight race
Man that's a 3s !! We talking 4s my guy !! red cat is in another weight class. Yeah on Amazon the big rock is 290 for now but will be back at 329.99 soon so it's still no comparison
👎
I'm really living rent free in your head huh?
@@Rek_Rc Not really. Just found you once and that's it.
