I just received my "5" this morning from an eBay purchase. Holy HELL, the bass is disgustingly amazing...even at low levels.
Can you feel the bass well?
@@jaythulin3990 Two months later and I'm still loving it! This is def. an indoor speaker. It gets decently loud, but not JBL Xtreme loud, so it loses its range pretty quickly outside. One impressive feature is how well the bass hits at low volume. You're not going to "feel" it per se, but it does rattle my keys on the glass table.

I have a 5 and bought a 6 I connected both togeather and it sounds absolutely incredible
So if you join them, they make stereo or both pay the same chanel as mono ?
I had the Onyx Studio 1 and currently have the 4, just ordered the 6 for $100 to pair with my 4. Best speakers I've ever owned. As long as they keep makin em, I'll keep buyin em

I bought it over a week ago, the build quality does feel very sturdy and the speaker weighing 2.9kg with a aluminium handle you can easily knock someone out if you intend to use it as a weapon lol
is it portable though? Like fit into a bagpack?
@@jayjaytv2563 well it really depends what size your bag is, for example it does fit in my gym duffel bag which is quite a roomy bag, but it doesn't fit in my backpack because the mouth or the entrance of my backpack is smaller than the backpack, but you will definitely find it smaller than you expect
If you want the dimensions, it's length is 29.5cm, height is just shy of 29cm and the thickest part is 11cm
I had the onyx 7 but sold it because of the handle. Otherwise it was very good. But now i own a onyx 5 and never been happier.
I have an Onyx Studio 5 & 6. They both sound almost identical, but I wanted to be able to pair my 5 to another speaker and the 6 is capable of that. 2 of them paired sound incredible. The sound is much bigger all around. The 5 is a year older than the 6 and battery life is almost identical even though I used the 5 for an additional year, and for me the battery life is great as they never leave the house anyway. I'm always near a plug. As speakers go these could be considered old now but they have not deteriorated a bit since purchase. One other difference the 5 is not ipx7 but the 6 is. I also discovered a combination of buttons pressed simultaneously gives a sound boost that makes these even more impressive. I will wear these out before I bother looking for any to replace them. They are that good I'm afraid I may have to give something up if I did. Very good speakers.

I was at work one time and this speaker was sitting in a corner so i wanted to listen to it ive never seen one before I thought it was just some cheapo thing but it sounded like a surround sound system it was so good i was in awe
Discovered this speaker thanks to carboot sale in UK. The guy wanted 10 GBP for it. I own the very first Onyx Studio ,it costed 400 USD when it came out. 10GBP is about 13 USD lol
I still have the original, but I’m about to upgrade to this. Is the sound quality and volume same or better in your experience? I love the gen1
@@JosephAraza no idea but jidging on current rewievs it still stands high, now it is much more usefull ,cant wait when I can buy gen 5 or 6 to pair them up and use as a free standing stereo, playing video games on them also must be epic.

They put the amount of hours when playing at low volume, which is kinda dumb.

Guys, how do l clean my studio 6? I have one in grey and it's accumulating dirt
On my 5, I vacuum it w/ the hand-attachment. If there's trapped in dirt, vacuum it first to see if that gets it. If not, then "pat" it down w/ a wet/HOT towel. Don't rub it in any more....be sure to "pat" it.

And when off, goes from red to no light

Nice review but, a review about sound quality should have Better sound quality. HK should shoot you a mic. I agree completely with your review. Bass only really punches when plugged in. I bought this at 250cdn on sale and really should have bought 2. Real nice for the size

Xtreme 3 vs Onyx studio 6
X3 is an indoor/outdoor speaker that gets really loud...bass quality is decent. The Studio 6 is primarily for indoors (mine stays inside). It doesn't get as loud as the X3, but the bass is disgusting...even at low-volume, you can feel it.
