The 7 sounds more open. The tweeters made the difference. The bass is also a bit stronger. I like it
I would say that the bass of the the 7 is a little more tighter. Not especially deeper or stronger. I prefer the sound of the 7 over the Studio 6.

The studio 6 isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing but definitely the most practical for out door use.
I personally own a onyx 6 and I thought was the better decision I’ve ever made but man onyx 7 sounds clear and I love it. Never mind about the waterproof. Gonna buy this. Go for it guys. HK never disappoints you.
Onyx 7 is a shit, you can't bring it to the bathroom because of humidity, this is a downgrade. I like listen to music while i'm having a shower.

If I want a real stereo sound, I will buy 2 speaker, not 1 speaker with 2 tweeters...
Does onyx 6 handle the steam without any issues? I just bought one and wanna use it while showering aswell.

The Herman Kardon studio 6 works pretty good with the Poweramp music player trust me, I'm getting the best feel from this awesome speaker using the app, bass control and all
I also use Poweramp Equalizer for Spotify and the HK Onyx Studio 6 sounds great.

@@bernadettetrajano2775 I never heard either the Aura or Soundstick series before..but Aura and Soundsticks are consider home-use speaker, so they should have better and louder sound than these Onyx portable speakers

Studio 6 - better in aesthetics, Water proof, Mono, cheaper price than studio 7.
Studio 7 - Not Water proof, Stereo. A bit pricey as of the moment.
Onyx studio 7 is an upgrade for the sound quality though. But for me, if I have the budget now for the studio 7, I wouldn't buy it though. Instead, I will buy two studio 6. because for sure, two studio 6 would be a lot lot better than one studio 7. You got two powerful speaker with the price of one studio 7.

I like more Studio 6. It's got more surface area so it's got more bass and it is waterproof.
Go watch Alan Ross Reviews. He says that more surface area gives the speaker more bass.
7 sounds better, but 6 is still bassier and it is waterproof!

the sound is an improvment... men but wtf with that specs... no battery, no waterproof , bluetooth 4.2 ... and that price.. they are doing home speakers.. idk i still prefer onyx 6..

Was the bass good?
I tried the 7 and 8 side by side and there is not much difference. I'd say the 7 focuses more on bass and the 8 is more balanced. I would have bought the 8 but there miniscule difference and the 7 was cheaper so I bought that.
I bought the 7 from T-Mobile a few days ago. Seeing as how the performance and output doesn't really differ much from the older models, I am returning it tomorrow. I would much rather buy a used older model. I owned the 5 in 2020 and I honestly didn't notice a substantial difference in sound quality or bass. Plus the battery life is the same and it isn't even waterproof. C'mon now.
I returned the 7 from T Mobile as well, too hard to figure out.... I own the older model, and the leg just came off!
I prefer the 6 because of it’s design and the sound also it’s nice having IPX7 waterproofing

I think 7 sounds clearer & more powerful, and yes, it sounds like stereo. 6 sounds warmer, and my wife like it so much

I think I prefer the studio 6 output ...the sound is rounded at the edges and feel cushioned . The 7 is sharper and a bit jarring

I heard both in store onyx 6 got that fulness on bass i always wanted to hear meanwhile 43 is good but the bass and the sound quality for 205$ not worth it for.

Honestly i own the studio 3 and this one has 2 woofers 2 tweeters ans 2 passive radiatos and im very curious to see how the new ones sound with less drivers
I own onyx 4 and I can tell you guys the 7 and 6 are better ✅ From my audio car system HK , definitely the 7 have more deep bass than the 6 model and also more clearly treble , but the 6 have a better medium on the voices than onyx 7 , I’ll get the 7 one ✅

Omg i hear this using ATH SR50bt using wired mode on my hifi DAP. Trust me onyx studio 7 is a bigger low bass response than the 6, its shake and rumble my brain.

For a $400 speaker I definitely want a proprietary charger. Theft-resistant. Before you say anything I left my Boombox outside and someone came up to grab it, looked at the charge port, and left it behind because they don't have a charger for it.
It tooks harman 4 years to get back to stereo sound rather than mono (which they purposely done it so people buy 2 unit for stereo pair on onyx 5,6). Studio 7 should be the successor to studio 4 and they messed up the line up. Glad it become normal again. Harman should just focus on balanced sound cause thats is their signature , onyx 5 and 6 focus too much on bass and that narrow soundstage due to mono config emphasize the low end too much, some people will like the rumbling bass but i find it too much since u need to compensate the extra bass with muddy highs and mids since onyx has limited hardware performance.

Hope the Onyx 8 will have USB-C charging and Bluetooth 5.2. For now, I will keep my Onyx 4.
I would at least get an onyx 6 if I were you. It reaches lower frequencies than the onyx 4 and the sound is a lot clearer all while being waterproof.
@@kylesvideos59 To be exact I have two Onyx 4 for stereo. Anyways, I bought them for $99 each from Best Buy and with the price of the Onyx 6 around $180, the price is still too high.

I'm definitely a Stereo guy and I usually like having my 808's in Stereo. So I know what you mean when you say the Bass is lifted. In my experience w/mix&mastering, it has to be separated farther or higher in volume so you can get that full feel alongside everything else. I just ordered the HK6 for outdoors but Mono is pretty boring to me despite the speaker sounding good.
Can you pair 2 of them together for stereo sound?

The Studio One still had the deepest bass when last compared at least up to the studio 4. Does anyone know if HK have returned to the deeper bass sound of the original from the 5 onwards?
Studio 6 sounded more crystal clear more tweeter and base together studio 7 was more deep bass less tweeter I prefer studio 6
I think it depends. Because from here, it sounded like the onyx 6 was more spatial than the 7 and that the 7 sounded more directional than the studio 6. But in terms of bass, they sound sort of similar, but the studio 7 sounds louder in the 1khz-4khz range.

I heard the HK onyx 7 today. The sound and the bass is so good. One can listen to it at low volume with good bass. The only reason it is not on my list is because it does not have usb-c charger. I am buying only electronics with USB-C charging nowadays.

Listening with my headphones, the seven definitely sounds different than the six I can hear the changes without looking at the screen.
Glad to see the first impressions I don't have the 6 so I'm glad you did a quick comparison but one thing I learned 4 days ago you can actually you can pair the 5 and 6 together in stereo so after you pair them up together press and hold the playing pause button for 4 seconds on any speaker and you got stereo😄

The product manager and the senior managers involved for this model were probably not thinking straight. They should fire those guys and hire ME and Willington to make better speakers for this so-called "Speaker Company". This reminds me of the inconsistency of Chinese speaker manufacturers and white brands makers when it comes to specs, design, overall quality, and branding.

Lower Bass more pronounce on studio 7 and highs still pronounce on studio 6, but highs on studio 7 more wider, balance and softer than studio 6. Especially on 2nd song 😊

This came up in my feed. Wanted to comment of Harman's warranty. My Studio 6 died, no signs of life. Called Harman, spoke with a helpful person, emailed the proof of purchase along with my address. A few minutes later I received a shipping label. A replacement is on its way as I type. Hard to ask for more than that.

Any new BT speakers now in 2021 should have remote power on and off like how UE speakers do. I rather get the HYPERBOOM then this and I currently have the Studio 6. The specs on this Studio 7 should be a lot better and I could do without the front ring portion. It makes it look really ugly imo. The should've just has a small grab handle on the top portion behind the speaker instead.

The battery life of the studio 7 is not good at all . Very short battery life during playing but longer duration of charging.
