    My Brother has an Origin in .22 and his does it as well. He shoots his from 2800psi down to 1700psi then he gets about 30foot pounds and a standard deviation in speed of 18fps

      The fact that this has an unintentional low power vs high power mode is freaking sweet 😆; gives me options in case I need to shoot some stuff in residential zones without the risk of over penetration.

    You are a prolific young man! Appreciate. This may be my 1st PCP. Only 43” and just under 7 pounds. So, for $50 more then gamo magnum, I can just cycle the bolt and fire several times and then take a break and do a few pumps. Or, I can pump/cycle after every freaking shot with less end game. 🤔 Thanks again

  • @liquidsteel

    they arent regulated so you have to find the seet spot as pressure decreases its able to hit the Hammer spring harder thus releasing more air. My walther utx reign does the same thing.

    Great video! But, I think I have seen higher FPS with the 18 gr from the 22 Origin, so 1st thing that comes to mind is: did you have the hammer spring in each one set the same? Or, both set at max? Anyway, I really enjoyed your test! EDIT: I see the 22 FPS went up significantly later on, so....... maybe never mind.

    The weird reading, may be that you're getting some, Hammer valve Lock with lighter pellets...
    Pellet leaving barrel faster than the valve can close... So it sprays out extra air holding/keeping it open a little longer than it should...

    The increase in power with each shot is a faulty reg. It's leaking into the plenum and the hammer cant open the valve fully due to over pressure. As the pressure drops due to using air with each shot, the hammer is able to open the valve ore and more. This is why I stopped using PCP's, always an issue.

    I put a regulator in mine. Still working on the tune but right now I am getting 40 shots @900fps reg set @ 2200psi with a spread of 18fps but I think I can get the spread smaller. I also removed the EPT system and made a new end cap for filling. I've had it up to 1060 So far the adjustability is from 750 to 960 with the stock hammer spring but 1060 with a 1.6mm wire spring.

    Hey I was hoping you could answer this for me I have the Benjamin vaporizer 22 and a Gamo maximum gen 2 ,22 I put some good scope on them 6-24-50 with.light up cross hair .what would be the longest yard would you sight them at for squirrel and rabbit hunting thank you

    • @TheDollarSportsman
      @TheDollarSportsman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To sight in, I’d start with a 30 yard sight-in then make a dope chart and stick it to the gun somewhere, from 10-60 yards or so telling you exactly how much drop you get for the pellet you’re using and the elevation where you shoot (because a change in elevation will change the trajectory from break barrel airguns). Once you have a really good feel and can consistently put pellets at those distances, then squirrels beware 😎.
