When I first saw killer instinct was 2010-11 in a pizza place and it was the arcade version of KI. Don't remember which KI, but I loved how cool it looked and played riptor and fulgor, then eventually it was gone and i almost completely forgot until years later when I discovered Max's channel through UMVC3 and i loved his content. I saw his reaction to killer instinct and his guides, and I immediately got flashbacks and remembered KI. It was a magical moment, and learning that RAAM and arbiter were characters in it i had to get into this game. Now I'm a big fan of KI ever since and now KI 2013 is one of my favorite fighting games of all time ever since

I still think was the game that got me into fighting games as a kid, my earliest memory of an arcade involves hearing "ULTRAAA COMBBOOOO!". I remember standing off the to the side of the arcade machine just watching people pulling off insane combos and that got me hooked. I was never good at the game at the time but there were numerous tournaments at my local arcade and I made sure I was there for every single one.

I remember figuring out Fulgore’s gun finisher. I loved doing it in the arcade because it was loud as shit. Made people come and play you.

Microsoft weren't buying studios left and right when Double Helix got bought. They didn't start the spending spree on studios until 2018. Between 2013-2018 I'm pretty sure they only bought Mojang.

I've been playing KI since Super- but out of all this content, I just want to know how many black people were on the Double Helix & Iron Galaxy dev teams & why was the only black character developed so last minute?
It doesn't seem like as much care was put into TJ Combo by the devs, as much as it was put into the other original characters. Underlined racism is notorious in the gaming industry & many white gamers are very outwardly racial bigots. The gaming world is the last bastion for the so called European American to keep his grafted identity. We need more black devs & majority, if not entirely black dev teams to represent so called blacks/ Asiatic Africans, in a less stereotypical & careless fashion. I almost do want to play KI anymore, just knowing that Iron Galaxy didn't have Combo ready to go, until the last minute. They know it's because he's the only black character in a game that's mostly played by whites..

I think you're over thinking it a bit. The reason tj was so unpolished at the start was cuz iron galaxy only had 4 week to make the character because of double helix leaving and Microsoft needing a character to show off at e3. Just bad timing and bad first showing that's all. I will say tj when he was actually badass, i don't play him, I think he looks sick animation wise. Also he has the best theme in the game hands down.
