What I really love about Aphrodite is the way she's portrayed here. She's the goddess of love and beauty, and is usually seen throughout history to be the goddess of *sexual* love. In Epic, however, she's portrayed as the Goddess of ALL forms of love, as we can see here when she judges Ody for "claiming to love his mother, but let her die of a broken heart." It's a different take on Aphrodite that I really enjoyed to the fullest, and I'm glad Gumpus McGee gave us this version.
I loved this one sm- ALSO I realized that when Athena says “he was busy fighting!” YOU CAN HEAR TRUMPETS IN THE BACKGROUND like she was referencing Poseidon and his storms!!
HOLY HELL my fav goddess as fara s Epic and they did her *justice*. This feels so...damn. Drip check? How's your hair, 'Thena? The eyes...lovely work. This fandom and art-pile is up there and climbing above the likes of Hadestown and Hamilton. For absolute damn sure.

I love that they didn't make Aphrodite blonde, I feel like most people imagine her as blonde and in light pink, but this artist went outside the box and I absolutely LOVE IT
The problem is that this look would be better suited for the older, war-goddess Aphrodite Ariea, rather than the less obviously war-y, more feminine Hellenistic version of Aphrodite in the Odyssey’s canon. Sorry, it’s just that I’m a huge mythology nerd with an eye for design and this musical is one of the greatest things to happen to humanity and I want to give Jay a huge hug so bad!

I really like the shock in Aphrodite's face when Athena uses quickthought and desperately pleads with her. I kind if wonder if that's the moment that won her over. As a lot of others have pointed out, Epic is portraying her as the godess of all love, including platonic. I wonder if what won her over is the realisation that Athena loves Odysseus and Telemachus. Traditionally, Athena has only ever had a professional relationship with her proteges, which is even what she starts the argument with ("He was busy fighting "), but here Athena is demonstrating actual compassion and fear for their wellbeing.
Low key, I have a headcannon that Apollo cursed Odysseus and his crew, so they just burst into song, which forces the people around them (Circes, scylla, etc.) To burst into song as well, and epic the musical is cannon.

Aphrodite’s voice feels the most heavenly out of all the god’s voices. It’s so light, but it has so much emotion in it.
