bazzite has a new update with fedora 41 and mesa3d 24.2.3, performance should be way better
i7 8700T is 35W, 8700 is 65W, 8700K is 95W... how can we be sure a 65 or 95W CPU would work, what's a the total maximum combined with GPU we can get in this system?
It's actually more about cooling than powering those components. Lenovo has a copper heatsink for 65W TDP processors on m920x, but the question is whether it is worth it or not. Considering the necessary upgrades over the stock m920q (a custom cover, a copper heatsink and so on) it may be better to purchase a m90q and put a card there.
As you can see 8700T is not a 100% loaded, so no need for 8700 at least in these games. 8700K cannot be overclocked under m920q 's bios, so no need of it as well
@TheTomcat5 I decided to go for the m75s with ryzen 5, and will add rtx 3050 lp. Better processor and better air flow. And I think I don't need hacks and adapters. For the same or less money.
@@JorgeC-uk6wk What is being explained here is what can be done with a 1 liter pc. According to you, I can arrange it in a 3.9 liter mini pc, even cheaper than m75s. I can also install any itx graphics card I want. I will not be limited to an LP graphics card.
The official release of steam OS 3 is right around the corner
Witcher 3 in DX11 (or just run older 1.3.2 build) runs much better on lower-end, especially with DXVK vs VKD3D on Linux.
So you made a Steam Machine is what you're saying
this is cool but you can just get a ryzen pro apu model with if i remember right about steam deck profomance.
Will you please do a video on the DFR 1091 sdc no one has any videos on this sbc and it has a base clock of 4.6ghz GPU and mabey some overclocking if possible LOL thanks ur videos are awesome by the way thanks for all the entertainment.
Cool little retro/emu gamer if it's cheap enough. I'd probably look for 11th gen base though.
I've seen someone who built a custom heatsink and ran an RTX A2000 in one of these.
I can't wait for valve's home console
I am staying away from game rentals aka Steam etc. I actually want to own my
games. So, will GOG work or games you own the files to in Bazzite?
@@valentine_puppy yes, heroic games is a third part laucher that integrates epic games, gog, etc.(i use it with egs)
Other decent option is portproton mb, i use it more for quack games xp.
Fallout4 just use the exact same sound of the minigun from OG Unreal Tournament?!
Nice Project, how are the benchmarks vs the ones from the steam deck (which has an cpu developed for the steam deck software)
For linux you should always try to go for an AMD CPU
I really hope that AMD makes a good successor to the RX6400. At least PCIe 4.0 x8, 8GB VRAM, and performance that at least can do 1080p high with little complaint. Low profile, single slot, no extra power would be great too.
A man can dream...
They can but they wont sadly
If you type into the launch options for fallout 4. SteamDeck=0 %command% it will get rid of the black bars
longtime lurker here, I just subscribed because of this system. can you try playing rust? Please and thank you.
FYI you can force Fallout 4 to the Windows version by forcing proton compatibilty. It will cause the game to re-download the Windows version.
I had a M720q so I ordered the PCI-E adapter and gave this a whirl - I found that the GPU PCI bracket impedes the closure of the top cover. Is this the case for you as well @ETAPRIME?
Additionally use of the GPU eliminates the space for the Lenovo wifi kit, specifically the front antenna assembly.
@@georgegibson1156i just detached rhw antenna from the metal bracket an let it rest on top of the riser
I currently have an Unraid server and I'm looking to run a retro ambulation setup. What would you recommend I use for the OS in the container or VM in order to stream remotely to browsers on other computers? In my local network hardware is all Intel 11th gen with a Nvidia 3090 Fe
what’s the grey controller with the orange sticks in the thumbnail for the video?
😔 I have a bunch of M910q Lenovos laying around unused and I know for a fact none of them have the PCI adapter already in there.
Odd that there are no videos of emulation tests on the Samsung Tab S10 on TH-cam yet.
OH MY GOD YOU'RE PLAYING WARFRAME
I use that exact same GP but in a more modern Lenove P340 tiny, that has a 10700t in there. Unfortunately that one does not allow to use a bogstandard LP bracket like this one. Does run tih 64gb 2933mhz ddr4 ram, so got a bit more power available with it. It comes with the proper copper cooling and has the mesh top cover for the gpu and cpu. Still it can get quite toasty, mainly that rx 6400. I use it as work pc tho.
This is a pretty good setup, how does Batocera do on it?
Any chance of you getting a 3400GE variant and test the performance on that without dGpu?
I think he's already done that in the past
@@johnuzoka6229 Nah, there's only 3 M920q video and none of them run the PC barebone without GPU.
Oh yeah he did a video on the HP with 2400GE
hi can u make another build like this but using rtx 3050, i think 3050 has lower tdp than 6400
theres only 1 single slot version, and its china only and costs way more then this rx 6400, and im not sure itll be faster by much, as its the mobile variant.
What are your thoughts about using that big of a power brick to power the gpu better? Is that ok with the motherboard or vrms?
