    Love your video's and like to see more. Bit reluctant to buy stuff because of the risk of import taxes when shipping to the Netherlands (Europe)

    thanks for the info on the Reg/Rec, i have already used mine with a Antigravity battery on my 2012 KLR650 and had no problems, I'm about to do a rewire with the motogadget blue. so i'm watching videos and trying to get ready to eat this elephant one bite at a time.

    loving the series, while I do ,, ok,, at wiring,, mainly just replacing lol, nice to learn a little more about the systems. anyway to get one of these videos on converting an old triumph pos ground to a more modern neg ground so can upgrade the system?? starting to have more problems with mine,, if not, no worries, might be a little to lengthy for this series. thanks for putting the vids out, always looking to see what comes next.

    Love all your videos! Was looking back at all of them for something in the M switches. As far as drilling the bars to install them. If I missed it could you post link. Thanks. keep up the great Work!

      We don't have a video on that topic yet but it would make for a great one. I'll tell you a couple of ways that we go about it in the shop.
      1. Free Hand - Locate the center of your hole and use a spring loaded punch to mark it. The mark will center your drill bit. Use a fresh bit and clean up around the hole wo there are no burs that will damage your wire.
      2. Use a handle bar drill jig. shop.revivalcycles.com/lsl-handlebar-drill-jig/ These will give you a 5mm pilot hole that you can go up as needed.
      In the shop the guys will use either of these two methods, often while the bars are mounted so that the clamps hold them tight and they can be certain that the positions are correct for the switch angles.

    This series is awesome! Do you guys have a video on how to wire a cdi box from say, a honda nighthawk to an m unit?

    The ground on my 1999 r6 off of the reg rec goes to the fuel sender, cooling fan, and fuel pump. All 3 are super weird. Is there a place to start the search?

    Great video! I have a BMW R100 with a diod board. Im guessing thats the reg/rec? Is it a plug and play swap to a newer reg/rec?

      Hi Patrik, here's a Link to the right one for your BMW. The second link is to a wiring diagram specifically for Bosch charging systems.

    So, can you use a lithium better reg/rec with a regular battery? Because it should only put 14v.

    Nice info. Hard work.
    A question.
    What if we mixup the stator wires. Im running a 5 wire regrec. Thanks.

    • @RevivalCycles
      @RevivalCycles  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries, if you don't get the three stator wires mixed up it won't hurt anything at all.

      @@RevivalCycles by thats what im asking.
      All three stator wires are of yellow color. All three of em. So it wont harm anything if i just attach them with whatever regrec wires?? Leaving out the power and ground.

    FYI, MOSFET is an acronym, not a brand name. www.webopedia.com/TERM/M/MOSFET.html. Loving this series, keep up the great work!

    • @RevivalCycles
      @RevivalCycles  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Peace Love thanks for clarifying. We’re not saying in the video that it’s a brand, it’s a type of reg rec.

    • @CajunGreenMan
      @CajunGreenMan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RevivalCycles I understand. And previously I have spent a lot of time searching for a brand of rectifier called mosfet before I learned it's actually an acronym. Just wanted to keep anyone else from making my mistake. Lol!

    So the the alternator needs the battery to generate power? I don't think so.

    • @RevivalCycles
      @RevivalCycles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does if it's a field excited stator which requires current from a battery to excite the field coil creating a magnetic field order to generate power. 🖖

    • @alxazar
      @alxazar 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Are there many motorcycles that don't have a permanent magnet alternator ? Cause if so you would probably see at least 3 extra wires for the exciter coils to get power, not seeing many of those... @@RevivalCycles

      We might but I know some of the GPZ's have a regulator integrated into the alternator. If you shoot us an email to techsupport@revivalcycles .com and include your factory wiring diagram we can help you figure that out.

    Mosfet are better because they controlle the amount of power produced (not just dump it to ground (and create heat)) Also a modern fh020aa shindengen putsout 14,2V max less then 14,4V max for 4 cell LIfepo4
