From what I've heard/ seen in videos, the RG Nano seems to be perfect for using 1 hand to play turn based RPGs. This new competitor seems to be more playable for other games as well do to it being a little bigger. I wish there was more competition in this market of tiny ultra portable gameboys. They are pretty cool, although a bit hard to actually play on.
GKD Pixel for me. Easy. I've owned both. Quality for both are awesome. Screen on the Nano is just too small for me though. I don't mind the jank os on the Pixel either.
great video! I ended up choosing the RG NANO because it was on sale for $40usd on aliexpress where the gkd pixel was more like $80. I think i prefer the gkd pixel though
you cant find it for 10 dollars cheaper, unless you want the super long shipping times i also leanered recently that the buttons on the gamekiddy are super small compared to the 280v so you make your decision, thats one thing that turns me off on my rg nano @@user-to1su2iy4d
My shoulder buttons don't shake at all. Everything seems really tight. I'm really impressed with the Pixel. I owned the Nano. For me, it was far too small. Totally unplayable. Good and fair review!
I mean, the RG Nano's screen isn't "vertical", it's 1x1. Y'know... a square. Which makes it fit games with a square aspect ratio. Which is a ton of them. I personally didn't get into gaming until widescreen was already the standard, so square games are mostly before my time, but for a lot of people they're the main thing they want to play on a retro device.
I have the rgnano but I wanna get that gkd pixel handheld looks dope 💥 my favorite handheld is the gameboy micro 💯💯💯💯💯💯 perfect tiny screen and perfect pocket ability
The Nano is a portable music player that kinda plays games. The Pixel, is well,...may as well just get an rg280v if you're going bigger than the Nano, lol.
I'm just really disappointed that both of them have very awkward resolutions for GBA. the Nano is only 160x160, so it doesn't have enough horizontal pixels for GBA, and the Pixel at 320x240 has 33% more horizontal, but 50% more vertical, meaning you can't do 2x scaling and either have to shrink the resolution have have bars, or deal with very bad scaling. The Pixel is super close, but that screen puts me off from wanting to get one.
U are wrong about volume settings on rg nano. You hold select button and press b or x to change it
Sel+ y for up and sel+a for down
Sel+x brightness up sel+b for brightness down

I have a miyoo mini v2. And I'd rather use small buttons than try to cram a steamdeck in a jacket pocket.

Can the pixel be played quietly next to a sleeping person?

RG Nano is half the price. Not a fair comparison.
Full retail they are about the same price. RG Nano has just been around longer so it has been discounted more.
@@djcoltunez gdk is 116$ and rg nano is 42$.... Nano wins price point
@@BaBaBaBlazinpixel is $80, and nano is $40ish. If you’re paying $116 you’re a mark lol
@@brok3nvideokid yes I saw that later haha, yeah 80 is worth
Isn't that battery light really irritating at night say if you play in bed?
I think the anbernic 280v is a better competitor, its plastic but solid, and much cheaper
$10 isn't much cheaper at all. It's also older and looks way more goofy

@user-to1su2iy4d the buttons are way too small on the gamkiddy, just like the nano
The space on the 280v feels like Nintendo made it
I agree but why is nobody comparing the gkd pixel and the 280v? I don’t really know which one to get
I’ll get one if I can order the purple version…seems limited, but it’s the only one I want.
hopefully gkd pixel gets more available in ph markets. So hard to find atm
is GKD pixel have real time clock feature like anbernic? thx
I have one. That wiggle sound is from the start and select buttons. Just hold these down, and you won't hear anything :D
🤣

You don't have to pause and enter device settings to adjust volume on the nano... can easily do it in game live.
Yup. Hold select and (b) button for brightness and (a) button for audio levels.
I legit just want to make the pixel a mp3 player like ong idk but it looks like a cute mp3 player

Acknowledged 😆 this is why I make more short form content than long form 🤣
