I love these 30 day challenges! I prefer to do this with my handhelds too because using them one at a time helps me appreciate them more fully and brings me back to when I was a kid and only had one handheld. Thank you for sharing!
Agreed, I found this channel because of the 30 day challenges. I'd love to see so many more of these for each gaming platform - maybe you could do shorter challenges like a week or 14 days to make it easier to produce! Regardless, awesome stuff.
Emulated Game Gear is a different experience to playing on the actual console. On the real console the screen couldn't keep up with the scrolling on games like sonic and became a bit of a blurry mess, fast moving enemies in games would also blur, some games would look washed out as the screen wasn't that good a quality. You get none of those issues when emulating. Still loved my Game Gear though.
@@_Majoras It does, that what I said in my comment. If you wanted the real Gamegear experience, you would have to use a device with a low quaity screen, emulating, like in this video, makes the games look better than they actually were on the real console, so its not like playing on a real GameGear. When emulating some other consoles, like the GameBoy, some emulators can make the screen blur like the real one did.
@@ChronikSpartan it's currently my bed time game on my Anbernic, I've not played it before, it's very good! Definitely up there with Chrono Trigger. Great video anyway mate, tempted me to get one of these 😂... Though I can't imagine myself doing a 30 day challenge. That is impressive!
Bloody great video mate 👌 .. I dont think i could play sumthin so small haha.. would drive me a bit nutz... did your fingers cramp up haha? Good stuff my man 👍👍
First and great video! I just recently got an RG Nano myself and not only did I load it up with a ton of games, I put on a ton of music albums too! That included headphone adapter works very well!
I hear the complaint "there's just too many games to play" about these types of devices that I do wonder why people put so many games onto them. Choose one or two for each system, your absolute favourites, you don't need to put put full libraries onto them.
So personally, what I do, is load up a big ol library, and then limit myself to playing one game from each genre, but not more than 5 at once. And of course I use a favorites playlist, when given the opportunity.
I have an rg35xx h and wonder why you'd want to go any smaller? It can fit easily in my pocket. Isnt there a point of diminishing returns on being portable? Yet you give up so much in other key areas?
I honestly thought the same thing. But the 28XX brings something that's hard to describe. It's just so charming! Do you need one if you have a 35XX, definitely not, but if you have no XX device, it's absolutely worth considering.
the issue with the game gear was not the games but the battery life... you would spend more money on battery than on games, especially if you were an kid with an small alowance instead of an adult with a full salary
Obviously just seeing you use this aches my hands. Lol That's kinda funny taking it to a party to avoid the boring, non-nerdy parents. CT story definitely sticks with one. 😊 Ha ha, couldn't find it at times. Imagine realizing you dropped it into a bowl of snacks and ate it accidentally cause it's so tiny.😂
My child would also get a retro console instead of a cell phone. The game quality is simply unattainable, especially compared to modern mobile games, where the only purpose is to put more money into the game and the only feelings of happiness come because it triggers the brain, like a casino game.
I'm convinced rating boards have been so strict on simulated gambling in games like Pokémon because it teaches the kids about the dangers of gambling in an environment without real-life consequences, which can lead to them NOT being sucked into microtransactions and that's a bad thing for business.
Should have used the other interface. Then you can scroll those pages using the left and right trigger. Also legend of the river king 1 and 2 are amazing for gbc
With these pocket handhelds being misplaced, it's actually a good idea to store them in a wallet. ;-; I have yet to misplace neither the Miyoo Mini and GKD Pixel, no way you'll misplace that wallet for long.
Its probably the best and easiest way to do pokemon games on the go which should of been the first games you tried tbh. Also i wouldnt say just bc it has ps1 games u needed to play them that much. As for the games it comes with that happens with every anbernic handheld ive bought. Ive used it wveryday since i got it for gaming here and there when i have downtime qnd it hqs worked perfectly for it. I also would say to get a 3rd party software which fixes a bunch of problems like no favorites. Also i added a different sd card which is also a very common and known problem with anbernic then i only added a handful of games do it wasnt full of games i would never play
Pokemon definitely would have mode it easier, but tbh I try to avoid such addictive games for these challenges as it is too easy to just play those over the 30 days. You're right about just because PS1 is available doesn't mean it needs to be played, I find a lot of emulation handhelds push too far with the emulators they provide, when they should just stick to what they're good at. Great idea on refining the game selection too, I think it's essential to be able to truly enjoy gaming on systems like these.
Is this your first emulation handheld? You're overwhelming choice sensation is common for people playing on their first emulation handheld. The rg nano is intended to be your on-the-go RPG machine. Loaded with only four or five games ready to go. Not your entire list 😅

That's a cool idea! I'll do this with my handheld buddies
The original 2.8" Miyoo Mini is the smallest I can possibly handle.
40+ eyes and large hands say no-no to the Nano!
Overall I'd have to agree, it still feels like a great experience on 2.8 but lower takes away from the experience.

Oh,, if you have never played it, try Golden Sun, that plays well on small screens and is a great game.
what about with the modern game gear lcd screen replacements? pretty sure this corrected the scrolling/blurryiness issues

There are lot of shaders/filters in retroarch to emulate the lcd bluriness/old lcd screen lags.
GBA version of Final Fantasy VI would have been my game of choice on something like that, I think.
Ah, I didn't think of that!

A rough challenge would be the game gear micro for 30 days😂
Wow, that would be tough 😅
Great little device for the older Pokémon games
I take this thing to work with me everyday and use it someonetimes
Same
It's perfect for that!
the issue with the game gear was not the games but the battery life...

The games were great, but I couldn't put the time in because of the batteries
That clip of you and your son at around 9:00 is adorable
Thanks buddy ☺️

Absolutely, modern games are designed to be digital crack

bro please dont stop this series of only 30 day, i love it
I won't, there's another coming soon 😉

Ooh, good advice 👊
My man played rts on this. Absolute mad lad!
Haha, it was brilliant too 😅
11:05 you can adjust the speed of scrolling in the settings menu.
Ahhh, that's interesting
My only console, that i'm using rn
That's so cool!
what is that first strategy game. mech platoon.
it is awesome with pokemons in GB/GBC just playing with one hand in the bus or in the wc😂.. it amazing how small it is!
Yeah, that's definitely where it shines!

Sounds like you should do a game gear challenge (no sonic games or something).
Harvest moon 1 GB is the worst one! Try the 2nd or third, or even the SNES version
Harvest moon GBC is great
Yeah I've heard that, but that's why I wanted to give it a go 🤣
I'll have to check out GBC
Imagine the Play Date 30 day challenge.
It might just be happening quite soon 😉
Amazing video
Thanks buddy!

No, I've had numerous before, I'm just still trying to balance the overwhelming feeling, lol
I got the drum CFW and play tekken 3 on mine all the time.
Nice! Tekken must be tricky on it though
It's too small.
That's for sure
