    This just helped me out so much!! I've been chasing my tail for 2 weeks. I had no reverse or turn signals on my 2001 Excursion.
    Corroded wire shorting out when I would put it in reverse.

    This was the easiest way to do it I tried doing it through the ashtray panel and that sucked this is by far the best way

    Excursion always has been one of my dream trucks. The one with the diesel. Thank you for sharing with us.

      My roommates Chevy Tahoe got rolled and when he went to the hospital, the nurse ended up giving him her 2000 Ford Excursion for free it’s been a electrical nightmare but I fixed the turn signals and brakes there was a wire underneath the hood by the fuse box that was bare(trailer brake wires) and it was arcing and shorting out the turn signals

    Wire insulation is made with Soy and they love to eat it. I had problem with lights and found some exposed wires in engine compartment. I separated wires and gave them 3 or 4 coats of liquid tape and some 3M tape good to go.

    Rodents. Gotta love them. They also love to eat fiber optic lines.

    Don't know if this would work for everyone, but I removed my stereo, the relay is right there

      I didn't even need to do any of that I just removed the little edge of the trim underneath pulled it forward and stuck my hand right up in there

      @@FordBossMe ya I tried it your way, unfortunately my dash panel doesn't have that much flex so I couldn't get my hand up far enough. Thanks for the video though, I fixed my turn signals thanks to you

    Ford dealer is going to cover the bad torque converter under warranty however, I asked them to change the shift bushing while it is off and they said no, unless it is broken. They claim the few bushings they have must go on broken cars. What say you, love the vids

      It's first come first serve lol...that dealer is wack
      Call Ford corporate crc and they will straighten that dealer up quick

    The Excursion is the only SUV I would consider having (with the diesel) just because it's so awesome and there's nothing quite like it anymore

      Any luck? I'm having a wierd issue with my 02 excursion now the rear turn signals won't work and the truck dies when I turn the headlights on, but everything on the front works fine. I noticed there's a surge going to the rear bulbs per say, its like they are dim when turned off. I unplugged my trailer wire harness with luck and relay flasher plus all sockets and bulbs.

    🇺🇸❇⚓🔩⚓❇🇨🇦.....Oh that excursion is built tough & built proud! Reasons to maximize hydraulic fracking, petroleum production & build more nuclear reactors.....Maybe a gas guzzler but would last a long time similiar to this one.....

    If plant based oils versus petroleum based oils were not used in the manufacture of these wiring harnesses, critters would not be chewing on them. Eric O brings up this problem frequently.

    I’m working with a 2002 excursion right now after we just put an entire ac system in it. The customer believes the ac should be colder. It cools when driving about thirty below ambient and gets colder when you drive, but at idle it’s only 20ish below ambient in this Houston heat. We’re going to vacuum it out, put in a blue orifice tube in it instead of the red one which is supposed to cool better in hot climates, and put in some MOC Artic Blast (we carry MOC Products). Do you have much experience with the ac systems on these older 7.3s? The only guys that remember them are the Parts Manager of 19 years and our Senior Master Tech who said it’s been so long he hardly remembers them.

      @FordBossMe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I've got a couple questions did you clean out the AC condenser and is the cooling system up to par?

    • @QuickshotGaming
      @QuickshotGaming 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FordBossMe yeah everything is brand new because when it came in the orifice tube was filled with metal, new condenser, front and rear evaporator, orifice tube, expansion valve, all new lines, new compressor (had to immediately replace it as the first one didn’t pump correctly), it was filled with the correct amount of r134a and the high and low side pressures are good. I’m a new Service Adviser so all the information was relayed to me. It gets so hot inside this vehicle that the rear view mirror fell off yesterday just sitting on the lot where the customer left it. It’s a dark color, leather interior, the tint doesn’t seem to have any heat blocking properties, the ducts up top are probably roasting in the hot sun.

    • @AT-wl9yq
      @AT-wl9yq 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@QuickshotGaming I would double check 134a to see if it has the correct amount. I know you said it does, but the tag under the hood has 2 charging amounts listed. One amount is for the front system, and there's higher amount for both front and rear systems. They may have put the lesser amount in by accident. Also, on an older vehicle, those tags fade over time and get dirt on them. It can be very difficult to read.

      Could be a weak fan clutch

    • @QuickshotGaming
      @QuickshotGaming ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@htcrm01 turned out to be a tiny leak in one of the hoses that was obsolete (had a hydraulic hose place repair it) and an issue with the condenser that we service part warranty out.
