This color does look much better in person!!! Another great and very comprehensive review from our sweet buds at Car Confections. My first new truck was a 1986 Toyota standard cab 5 speed that I bought after basic training and technical school in Colorado enroute to my first duty station for the USAF . I drove the heck out of that truck. Always doing burnouts and abusing it as a young dumb kid. It never gave me any problems and was always fun to drive. Tacoma trucks hold their value exceedingly well and the newer ones are very comfortable too. Thank you guys for this review. Makes me want another one !
Very nice review! I'm older and spent a LOT of time reviewing/comparing/driving the Ford, Chevy and Toyota. I ended up (2 weeks ago today) buying a new 2019 TRD Off Road Double Cab (5' Bed) in Calvary Blue. We have a horse farm - on a river - so I'll USE the 4WD/Off road capabilities of this little truck. I may be one of the few that likes the absence of things like power seats...All my other vehicles have power seats and I rarely use that feature and it is just something else to break. The truck is simple - other than the radio - I'd prefer not having the 7" screen. I do appreciate the video - I'm watching a lot as the owners manual is never going to get out of the package.
Just bought this exact truck today that you reviewed. It’s getting shipped up from another town so I’ve gotta wait until the end of the week to get it. CANT WAIT!!
Car Confections hey I’m thinking on getting a 2019 Toyota Tacoma tdr sport this same color but I’m tempting to buy a 2019 ram 1500 rebel in red instead but I’m going to be driving it a lot do you know about the gas consumption on a New ram is it really a big gas hog
No engine and transmission updates but to be honest it doesn't need it yet. I am happy about the new infotainment update, 360 camera, grille, headlight, and power seats however. I think it should be enough to keep the Tacoma number one. The 4.6 V8 would be nice.
Nice review but even the taco community would disagree with back seats even in double cab. They’re tight and there is no getting around it. Great review otherwise
How does this off-road model deal with traveling on unplowed roads in 4x4? A lot of fish tailing? Do you guys typically put a bunch of weight in the back? studded snow tires? Thanks in advance...
Can you do the ford ranger and honda ridgeline please? I know i know ridgeline get a lot of hate but I am talking about non off road comfortability. I live in a city, will never go off roading I just need the utility of a truck and yes I do consider a minivan also for utility.
LOL do not buy a Ridgeline. There is no point. If you don't offroad, don't buy a Tacoma or Ranger. You are wasting your money. Buy a minivan or SUV. Trucks are expensive because they can tow and go off road. If you don't need either of those things, don't buy a truck.
The V6 doesn't lack power. The issue is the transmission gearing. It could have more, sure. But drive it with a stick and you'll feel the difference. And in most models, you CAN'T opt for the 4 cyl. It's only in the base model.
Very nice truck! Cant wait to see how the sales do this year with the new Ranger around. It would be cool if you could do a video on the 2019 Chevy Colorado.
Good video but I have to correct you there is no way I’m getting anywhere near even 400 miles a tank. More like 320-340 with lots of highway driving at 18.5 mpg
@@RAM-KINGOFTRUCKS maybe it is BUT THE FORD is totally cheap all around...it will Fail leaving the assembly plant...my 13 Taco looks good with cheap plastic as i pass broken down Fords
The basic audio system is wayy better then the fords or the chevys and the chevys is the worst why because it has destorsion and it is easy to blowout at high vol and the eq with out any tuning comes with the bass all the way up the midrange is low and it’s out of wack and with the bass a little bit up it has almost to no bass if bass over half had bad destorson and with the ford is close to the toyota

I just bought that *identical* truck. Same color, trim, bed length. Love it!

Thanks! Congrats on your truck! Calvary blue is our favorite Tacoma color!
If they could only improve the rear passenger space
Great video guys!! I love the 2019 Toyota Tacoma, I may lease one for my first car!!! Toyota makes good cars!!!!!
Yep! Do you prefer cars or trucks?
@@CarConfections A truck because I'm short! Lol! I'm 5'3, I wish I was 6'4

Basically is a truck for work no fancy stuff excellent reliability good price
Your reviews are great- very thorough on all features
Thanks! 🙂
Waiting till next week on February 7th, when Toyota is unveiling the 2020 Tacoma refresh
godwhomismike yes! I heard power seats. Hopefully a engine/transmission change also!!
@@armandcouture4655 Or that retro infotainment unit they have too.

@@andybub45 they did update the transmission "programming" supposedly. Maybe the gears will hunt less in the auto.
Armand Couture nope
Enjoy our review of the Tacoma TRD Off-Road!! Be sure to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE if you enjoyed!!
I wish they dropped in the 4.6 v8

Great review as always!
Great truck for years and great video review
Thank you! 🙂
2019 and they still won’t ditch the drum brakes 😂
Great video. Was wondering if you could do a few videos featuring the access cab version of this truck and it's competitors. Should be interesting.
Thanks Eric! We are definitely planning on some comparison videos to the competition

@@thestig007 yeah i am also considering a minivan. Maybe a minivan then a pick up later down the road
This other guy's an idiot. Ridgelines are excellent trucks for what you described.
I love it that’s will be my next truck
Compare this with Honda Ridgeline?
No comparison, the Tacoma is an actual truck.
The Ridgeline is practically a car with a bed. Much less offroading capabilities.
I like this review, even if I don't like the truck.
I wonder how many people opt for the 4 cyl...the v6 is underpowered itself.

Do a full review video about the new Ford Ranger Stx 4wd crew cab short bed 2.3L 4-CYLINDERS ultimately best truck ever
We are working on reviewing one in the next couple days! We are so ready to be able to finally check it out!
They don't make an stx ranger. Just xl, xlt and lariat.
LOL
Nice review
Thanks!
Very nice truck! Cant wait to see how the sales do this year with the new Ranger around. It would be cool if you could do a video on the 2019 Chevy Colorado.
Yep! We are planning on reviewing the Ranger very soon and the Colorado shortly thereafter!
I predict the Ranger will do well, it should knock the Colorado out of the number 2 spot but it will not pass the Tacoma
@@Shakerhood69 probably true. I am a Chevy fan, so it is unfortunate, but the Ranger has a larger sales base due to the past model.
@@CarConfections great!
will you all be doing a 2019 Audi A7 review?
Yes! We just are waiting for one to arrive at our dealership
And beauty ... always excellent videos like this Toyota, can you get a video of the RAM 2500 2019 ... I would be very grateful ... thanks ...
Thanks! And yeah we're definitely interested in that truck
Do a review on the Frontier
You failed to show the rear seats can fold down completely flat with a hard lining. Large enough for a large breed dog to rude in back seat.

Just Wished it had REAR DISC BRAKES instead of DRUMS ☹
They work just fine...
The rear drums are fine, they will reliably last a long time
I know a little off-topic but..
...are you going to try reviewing the new Supra once it comes out?
Of course! Can't wait!
@@CarConfections Can't wait to purchase one for myself too. :3
Nice color
Yeah uhm... my 2018 TRD Off Road definitely “DOES NOT” get 422 miles from a tank of fuel! More like 300-320 miles
Depends on your driving style.
tires, weight, driving style, type of fuel, elevation, wind/weather etc..
Yaay it still has a CD player
I rather not have the new safety tech. I don’t want to be shutting t off when it acts up in bad weather
Any one tell me the color?
J Mas it’s called the quicksand color
@@jeremiahhudson1883 thank you 👍

Buy a 2015 save yourself some headache 🤕
That has to be the ugliest color i've ever seen on a truck. Maybe it looks a lot better in person?
Haha yeah we think it looks pretty cool in person

i bought the quicksand color, i get a lot of compliments on the color
