Do I need insurance experience to work at TDI?
Not necessarily. We have plenty of positions that don’t require an insurance background, such as actuaries, attorneys, financial examiners, and investigators.
TDI also includes the Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) and the State Fire Marshal's Office. We have openings for occupational safety consultants and arson and fire investigators.
How does TDI compete with the private sector?
Two of the biggest TDI benefits are the ability for employees to telecommute several days and choose flexible work schedules. If you don’t live in Austin, we have positions in our field offices across the state.
When we’re in the office, what is the building like?
TDI and DWC employees are moving into a brand-new building near the Capitol later this year.
