12:02 yes, swing kids, d.o played a north korean soldier at a south korean prison camp during the korean war who attains a love for tap dancing. the soldiers plan a tap dancing show to distract themselves and the prisoners from the hardships of the war (and yes the movie is in korean, but there is some english in it)

EXO have so much influence on international pop culture that big western companies, such as Disney are coming to them and asking them to partner with them."Lightsaber" was a collaboration between Disney, which owns the Star Wars franchise, and EXO as a way to help Disney promote the most recent release of their Star Wars movie at the time. Disney actually approached SM Entertainment and asked them if they would be willing to create a song and MV centered around the Star Wars theme as a way to promote the upcoming release of their newest installment of the Star Wars franchise across Asia. So SM Entertainment came up with "Lightsaber" and the accompanying MV.
EXO is one of the biggest groups across Asia, with one of the largest fan bases, so it's not surprising that "Lightsaber" as a song and MV got a lot of recognition around the world. And because of its popularity, SM came up with this concert stage as well.
One of the reasons why SM agreed to partner with Disney on this project was because it fit so well with EXO's storyline and concept. As aliens from Planet Exo, it makes sense that EXO might be Jedis as well. :D
This concert is in Japan, and if you notice for "Lightsaber" they are singing in Japanese -- "Lightsaber" is one of EXO's Japanese songs, so if you watch the MV, just know it's going to be short because traditionally, most Japanese MVs use an abridged version of the song. I think It's part of Japan's marketing strategy to make you buy the song or album in order to hear the full song. So, most of the time, to hear the whole song you have to see it live in concert like this.
(They also have a Korean and Mandarin version of Lightsaber, as well.)
Rumor has it that an executive from Disney happened to catch EXO's performance of "El Dorado" at one of their concerts -- in which EXO also has choreography that uses lightsaber-like lightsticks -- and that's how they were inspired with the idea to ask EXO to collaborate with them on this project. Also, as one of the big 3 Entertainment companies in Korea and around the world, SM has had a relationship with Disney for a long time now and SM has partnered with Disney to produce programs for Disney Channel Korea in the past. Many of the members of NCT got their start pre-debut as members of Korea's Mickey Mouse Club and they starred on the well known variety show which aired on Disney Channel Korea.
As you noticed, at the end of 'Lightsaber," when they started their dance with the lightsabers, you saw that they turned on their rain machine. That part of the stage has a rain feature that can be turned on and off. So it was raining down on them the whole time they were dancing with the lightsabers. That's why they were wet at the end. That's also where the water they were dancing in came from. Water played a big part in this concert tour and they got wet several times during each concert because of the rain machine and moat filled with water that encircled that part of the stage.
These performances were all at the same concert, but for some reason this compilation video was put together with these performances done out of order. So "Transformer" and "Overdose" actually came before "Lightsaber" that's why they were wet at the end of "Lightsaber" but dry when you see them in the next song.
In the middle of "Transformer" when they make that picture in their dance, if you know what you are looking at, you will notice that what they make with their arms and bodies is they "transform" into EXO's hexagon symbol and they spell E-X-O.

Overdose Choreo was actually choreographed by Tony Testa. Tony had worked with Michael Jackson and Britney Spears.

Being a good dancer is just a Kpop industry standard. They have to be good at dancing to be a member of a Kpop group. Even if you don't see any dancing in one of their MV they will always have choreography to go along with the song, because they have to perform the song live as part of their promotional activities and they can't do that without having choreography to perform with.
However, because EXO is an SM Entertainment group, it is no surprise that they are really good dancers and singers. That is just something SM artists are known for. As one of the "big 3" entertainment companies in Korea and around the world, SM has the reputation of having some of the best singers and dancers in the industry. SM is the company that pretty much created the Kpop industry as we know it today, so they have become an expert at finding and selecting some of the most talented people.
On average Kpop stars spend about 10 hours or more a day in the dance studio for a week learning a new set of choreography and then they spend about a month perfecting the moves before they debut it in a MV, on music programs, on variety shows, at an award show and in concert.
Plus, they are constantly training so they are able to sing live while performing these complex choreographies, all while maintaining stable vocals and always sounding and looking flawless. Just in their concerts alone, they perform 2o to 30 songs on average and almost every song has choreography and elaborate stages. They can't do what they are doing and not be in shape. They spend any downtime they have training in the gym because that's part of how they build stamina and are able to perform at the high standards that they do. You can't be out of shape and expect to do what they do every day.
There really is very little down time for an Idol. They are working almost nonstop. Often a Kpop artist may only have about 4 hours or less at the end of the day to sleep because their schedules are so jam-packed. In between practicing and training they are promoting themselves and their group -- appearing on TV variety shows and radio programs, acting in TV dramas and movies, or as musical stage actors, they are models and spokesmen for numerous products, etc., plus they all have side projects where they are expected to be learning new skills, such as learning a new language, learning to play a new instrument, writing and composing songs, practicing martial arts, etc.

Lightsaber is one of my absolute favourite performances in kpop, it’s just so different and epic that I can never get enough of it (and what makes it even better is that the song was in collaboration with Disney and they all had their own lightsabers, I mean that’s just cool)
Lemme tell you a fun fact. Exo used to practice their singing while running on a treadmill during their trainee days . Now u got the reason that how they can sing and dance simultaneously back to back. That's why their vocals are so steady while dancing. They practiced this treadmill and singing thing for 5 or 6 years. That's why they the best

D.O has won many prestigious awards for his acting in Korea (at least 14 maybe more) and Swing Kids is an amazing movie. It’s on Viki and free with subtitles if you want to watch it. One of my favorites movies I’ve watched. You should react to Exo is Family it’s a 2 part video that you can break up but it shows their past and the hardships they went through.

Well, in d concert itslef this was not d order of prformance..d prson who uploaded it jst reversed it..overdose ws d 1st song & lightsaber ws d last..that's y they weren't wet n transformer & overdose prformances..but jst lyk d othr prformance u saw, it's a continuous prformance w/ 3 song in a set..lightsaber is a song in collab w/ starwars in 2015 to promote their latest movie back then..d cause of d collab was when they saw exo prformed "el dorado" in their previous ocncert - exoouxion (d concert - exordium - before this one u jst sqw)..yes, it's exo..not e-x-o..& yes, that's d.o, he shaved his head coz he had to play a role of a north korean soldier in d movie "swing kids"...it's a korean movie (2018) he's starring in..yes, no fake ro live vocals & dancing on point..of course, there'd b moments they'd lose their parts or lipsync in some prformances but it's natural to think their humans..thye'd b exhausted too & also, agency's decision at tyms..but doesn't take d fact that they can do vocals live great as long as they want to & r able to,..physically n condition.. If u haven't seen " el dorado" yet pls do..d 1 in japan pls..if possible w/ Overdose & History in Japan..all in seperate videos..
