- Last month Godzilla fans from across the world united at the Pickwick Theater in Chicago for an epic viewing of Godzilla: King of the Monstres. Everyone set out to make this theater-going experience bigger than Endgame. This was the result.

This is why Godzilla will live on! The fanbase for Godzilla is truly unique, in that true fans recognize all the monsters brought over from Toho, get excited to hear the original theme songs played, recognize those small nods to TOHO, and will sing Godzilla loudly and proudly! Long live the King!

@Otaku rex what y'all seem to not understand is that maybe your theaters had people that wanted to thoroughly enjoy the movie and didn't screech and fucking pound their chests like gorillas when godzilla would lift his toe. Y'know simple movie theater manners
I saw the film many times in the theatre and I'd say half the time people clapped after the movie. In one showing there were three young teenage boys next to me and they loved it. After the show they were hooting and clapping. There was only one other person in there besides us so it was pretty fun.

In the end, KOTM pleases its G-fan with Easter eggs and honoring kajiu's character. Now its our job to make sure Godzilla vs. Kong perform well in box office in order ensure the monsterverse will continue.
I blame the studio showing this film too close to Endgame's run in the theaters and the critics. The fucking critics don't know a damn thing about the significance of the Godzilla franchise and what it means to be a Godzilla fan.
Personally, I feel a deeper connection to Godzilla than I do the MCU because I've been in love with Godzilla films and the the Big G himself since I could walk. I felt attacked when critics tore this movie apart because it wasn't "popular" enough with their sort of crowd. Which is 100% bullshit because audiences LOVED King of the Monsters.
Rant over. I love this film! It made me feel like a kid again. Godzilla has my heart til the day I breathe no more.
I just read an article that Warner Bros will release all 2021 movies on HBO MAX on the same day as the theatrical release, Goji vs Kong included.

Feel for you. Had to watch it online. Still, it was so awesome. If I got so excited watching it online, seeing it cinema probably heart stopping. Heck, I nearly died watching it, like when Godzilla rises from the water and fired his atomic breath with his theme, nearly died.
@GamebroTV So far I've seen most Godzilla movies, at least the ones I could get online. Those include Shin Godzilla which is good even though it's long and boring between attacks. Though it was meant to be a bit realistic when it came to government response. Also saw the three animated Godzilla movies, they were ok. The 1998 "Godzilla" movie is something of a black sheep. It's not really Godzilla cause the design was completely different from the original design.
Me and my little brothers were waiting for this movie since last year.
The cinema was full of kids and their dads. The wonder and excitement they showed is the best experience I had in a movie. We were cheering up like crazy and every battle was excellent. It's so sad it didn't had a good reception.
Truly the best remake of franchise, and a love letter to the fans.

Jesus. Ghidorah has never gotten it that bad. Both wings and head disintegrated, chest stomped in, and his last head blown to kingdom come with an atomic blast. I'm not sure whether the 2014 kiss of death is the best kill anymore.

@@thefacelessgamer2297 In Destroy All Monsters it wasn't this violent. At least he's mostly intact there, here he's pretty much destroyed completely with the exception of one head. I also feel this scene gave a much better look at just how durable this Ghidorah was. It took two nuclear pulses to destroy two of its heads and wings, and even then he lived. It wasn't until after he stomped his chest in and blew away the last head that he finally died.

Everyone said critics were wrong about Batman v Superman, yet I never saw any audience reactions like this. King of the Monsters is something special.
It’s nice too see people’s reactions to film, the first time watching I felt the same way as the audience.
Especially the ending credits, can’t wait for the greatest rematch in history in 2020!

Here in Mexico there aren't a lot of Godzilla fans so I was basically the only fan watching the movie that day. When the movie ended I was standing and clapping alone, not even my friends supported me hahaha still it was an amazing movie and loved every bit of it. I'm a proud Godzilla fan and I was there for my king.
Thank you so much for this my friend. I'll be honest I caught the first viewing but this one slammed me emotionally with the singing at the end, I was seven again and tears of joy, a lot of love there that day.

@@dr.strangebat9397 Now he ruled over the ruins of his species, alone, with no other titans to actually rule over. But at least he is a lot happier now than on the island. Personally, I don't count the tag team on Mecha a win for Kong, it is just a battle to tie the two big boys over, Godzilla power boosted Kong's axe in order for him to deal the final blow. Afterward, Kong still had to give up the title of "king" to Godzilla and escaped to the Hollow Earth. But again, he is a lot happier now in his new home and Godzilla has one less titan to worry about, so everyone is happy in the end.
@@lekhaclam87 Well actually, there are plenty of Titans roaming around in the Hollow Earth, so he can pretty much be either passive or aggressive with whichever one he encounters.
@@dr.strangebat9397 We will see if he can assert his dominance over the Hollow Earth's titans in future movies if they are made. As of right now, Godzilla has the best subordinates and a queen, if she ever decides to hatch again.

This movie is not just nostalgia pandering, it’s an homage, similar to Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse. It respects the character, homages and treats their legacy with respect, and tells a genuinely beautiful story whilst doing so.

At the ending of the fight when Godzilla explode you can hear Mothra screams, if you pause the video you can see the shape of her wings inside the explosions as well, I really loved that they added that details.
it brings tears to my eyes hearing people coming together and cheering as one to this beloved franchise.
Not many movies nowadays have a grand finale like this one does.

When I saw Endgame alot of people left halfway through the movie. It was packed at first but only a few remained. When I was godzilla the atmosphere was similar to this.
I clapped when that crap finished through relief that the film finally ended. Endgame was bloody awful.
I remember at the end of the credits I yelled before leaving the theater "GOD I LOVED THAT MOVIE" and got some laughs, no other franchise makes you more proud to wave your fan flag then the Godzilla fandom
I feel so welcomed into a community.... all Godzilla fans. Know that I love you.
I swear, when I saw this the second time and caught Mothra’s wings and cry in godzilla’s explosions, I cried. I dunno what it means, but to me it’s like Godzilla’s waving Mothra’s death in front of Ghidorah as a sort of “you killed her, you’re responsible, now feel my wrath.” And it’s both heartbreaking and enthralling.
You know your dealing with a dedicated fans when they sing the end credits song, most common people just get up and go during those moments.
