Correction: please be aware this camera body is not weather sealed - it made it onto the wrong section of my list! but yes, this camera is not weather sealed! 🙃🤘🏻🦄☀
For all of the camera review videos that can feel very robotic, this video was such a breath of fresh air. I loved your style, and appreciated the samples. Well done! 🥰
I’m surprised this wasn’t as hyped as the 100V and E4. As a photographer who’s switching from Sony, this looks like the closest thing to my A6000 body. As a film photographer, I’m buying this for the film emulation and can’t wait to get hand on this one. I love the small size too! This will be a good everyday carry camera.
I've been looking and searching for my first begginer camera and this review has convinced me to buy xt30ii. Love your enthusiasm and honest review. The quality of both image and video are absolutely stunning ❤️
@@wildandfreevictoria should I get this or the xt3ii? Would ibis help new street photographers? Stuck between those two, more concerned for photography over video.
This video might be quite old but im deciding on which camera to get and your review definitely pushed me more towards this camera. Ill be picking it up in a week or so, thank you this amazing review!
First time in your channel, just looking for this camera review I'm impressed!! Not by the camera itself, but the way you do this content! I really enjoy this video!
Purchased the X-T30 II as a second camera to my XT4 and love it. I throw it in my bag most days coupled with the 18-55 Fujifilm lens for flexibility (and stabilisation). When I switch back to my XT4, coupled with the 16-55 Fujifilm lens it feels so heavy. I agree, so light weight, especially when coupled with a small lens such as the 23mm (F2) native lens. Excellent review, delighted to see that other photographs are enjoying this great little camera.
Glad to read you use this as a second camera! It is a good choice, I throughly enjoyed using it as a main and 2nd camera to my X-T3. It does show you how heavy the X-T3/X-T4 is especially coupled with a lens! The X-T30ii was a pleasant surprise! Thank you very much for watching and commenting, and happy shooting! 🙃🤘🏻☀️🌊
Thanks for sharing! One question.. how big is the difference between Xt4 and xt30ii in terms of autofocus since you use them side by side? Planning to change my xt3 to t30ii cause I really miss Classic Neg.. but autofocus is very important aspect as well. Thank you in advance!
@@aurimaspovilionis3304 Not significant. The XT4's face tracking is slightly faster but auto-focus the same. I can't seem any different in image quality, not a surprise they cameras have the same sensor. The XT30 ii is in my bag all the time, smaller, lighter etc. You will love it!
@@aurimaspovilionis3304 Hello, I am not too sure of the answer for that as I do not use the XT4 I use the XT3 but I did notice a faster response for the XT30ii in comparison to the XT3 :)
Ohhhh I think I want this one, beginner photographer, just a hobby I was doing with my phone and I think I'm ready for a dedicated camera. Love the look of the body and the images look really nice. Primarily take photos of flowers/nature and cars.
Aw you should definitely take the leap! If you can test out a few options so you can find what suits you but this is a lovely camera, I thoroughly enjoyed using it 🙂
I've been using a full frame Sony for so long that, as you said, I was kind of stuck in my equipment. Just about a week ago I started watching reviews on Fujifilm cameras and now I have such a big desire to try one. I've been shooting analog photography for years and I totally agree with what you said about the slr look and style of the Fujifilm cameras. I think I'm going to go ahead and pickup the X-T30 II. Thanks so much for the helpful review!
Thank you for watching and commenting! I’m so glad you agree, it is easy to get stuck or fixed in our equipment! Ooo well if you have shot analog for a while now I think you will enjoy the feel and vibe that Fujifilm cameras give, I love mine for that. I actually recently turned on the mechanical shutter again and love then sense of nostalgia it gave! That’s ok, I’m glad it can help! Best of luck with your Fuji adventures ☺️✌🏻🌈
I find your videos are like reading a good book - I don't want them to end. I have the old X-t30 and love it. It was my upgrade from the 2013 X-E1. So no surprises regarding the results and the pros and cons you obtained with the mark ii. The one surprise was your comments about the viewfinder/LCD compared to your x-t3. I have to admit, ever since I have been watching your videos, I have been thinking/dreaming about a silver X-t3 as my next upgrade. Your video had everything needed for a possible purchaser as a review, with the best bit being your wild, crazy, unique creative energy to showcase it. I loved, 'LOVED' the outtakes. More, please. Kind regards B
Hehee awww this was so lovely to read! Thank you very much how sweet! and please do not be put off by the viewfinder on the X-T3, I still use this camera body and do not miss 'the shot' it is still great, and it might be my settings. Sometimes I just find myself double checking the images to make sure they are ok. It is still great though 🙃 That makes me very happy that you found this useful and everything you needed from a review, that was my aim, just to be honest and real with it. I loved reading the wild, crazy, unique creative energy - that made me smile so much! Thank you! and yes, if there are more outtakes in the future I shall add them in. Have a lovely day! ☺️🦄🤘🏻🌊
A few weeks ago I was 100% certain I wanted a Sony camera. I did a ton of research, and was sure. Then I fell down a research rabbit hole and steadily changed my mind to wanting a Fujifilm camera, but their lineup is even more complex than Sony's so it's taken me a lot of reading and watching to get my bearings. The X-T30 has risen to the top as I came to understand my options, but this video might be the one actually sells it to me. You cut past the all the tech talk without fully neglecting it, and really spoke to why I wanted a camera to begin with and why this one might fit that feeling perfectly. Have you used it any more since this review? I'd be curious to know if your feelings changed at all.
Hehe aww no I’m very sorry! But you won’t be sorry with Fuji stuff, it is brilliant. I do agree with the complexity of lineups, sometimes it can get a bit overwhelming as well. Thank you for your kind feedback about my review, I always think back to when I was buying my camera and how much of a headache it was just finding and understanding what I needed, so I try to make my reviews with that in mind. I dont own the XT30ii, it was sent to me on loan to test and review with my honest feedback. I think it is a great camera. I own the XT3, so didn’t feel the need to buy the XT30ii, the XT3 is weather sealed and has the dual memory card slot which I find really useful. I most recently purchased the XH2S, my reasons for this was I wanted a beefy camera for filming (and photography) and the XH2S has fitted that need. I hope this helps you on your camera decision journey 🙃✌🏻
@@wildandfreevictoria Ended up picking up the X-T30 ii with an 18-55mm lens, and I couldn't be happier. I've only had it a few days but am already taking photos I'm really happy with, and going outside a lot more to take them. Thanks for the review!
@@lolasmits9052 Probably late with this reply but: yep! Huge fan of my X-T30ii. My only advice is to get a JJC attachable grip. It doesn't add much size to it, but does make it way nicer to hold with anything bigger than a pancake lens on it. And I appreciate that I can remove that grip for the times when I really do just want it to go into a pocket. The 18-55mm is a great starter lens, but not one you'll need to upgrade out of, it'll likely stay part of your kit no matter what you get next.
Also, another thing I appreciate is how you presented the camera. I do not enjoy those review videos where they just talk about the specs of the camera, you related your experience with it and that's what I was glued to.
Aw this feedback is brilliant, I always like to know how my reviews are received so thank you for this! I’m so glad you can relate to it. I’m not into tech specs, I just like to know how something is when you use it 🙂
@@wildandfreevictoria Exactly. I don't care about the fancy "3.2 megawaat pixelator 3000" that in the camera, i just want to know how sharp and good quality it's results are. I don't go looking around for hammer reviews to know what material the hammer is made of and how many tonnes of pressure was used to make it, I just want to know if the user of the hammer thinks it's good or not.
Absolutely loved this example! Well it means a lot and i’m so glad I can provide something and useful and different! Hopefully i’ll have more reviews on the way soon 🙂
I always had a thing for Fuji color science and for some time I have been looking for a camera to always carry with me (therefore small but reliable) and to use occasionally as a B-Camera for my works. I watched many reviews on various cameras and yours definitely convinced me to go to Fuji XT30 II because I found it particularly truthful, so much so that I also subscribed to the channel. Thank you!
Thank you for watching, subscribing and commenting, it is much appreciated! Yes I do have to agree with you the colour science is very very lovely! I use Fuji for all my footage and B roll - apart from the vlogging stuff, I have a dedicated camera for that. Well that I very lovely of you to say, and yes, honesty is what I am about. I don't get paid for this, I just enjoy it and want to share my photography experience of using Fujifilm equipment 🙃🦄☀️
A Review from an Artist, thanx for this, you just showed your pictures and I was just knocked by its warm colours (analog) sepia feeling in some way! You are really good at your art. Thanx from Sweden 😎👍
Aw this is so lovely! thank you! I think the Fujifilm colour tones are just beautiful, they have done a fantastic job with it! Thank you for calling my work art, that is so kind! and What a beautiful place to live, hello Sweden! ☺️✌🏻
What do you think of the xs10? For my experience, the deeper grip and ibis sound better then the xt30 ii. I know that psam dials is like a sacrilege to fuji fans, but, most of the time we tend to shoot aparture priority and iso/shutter dials are kinda stuck in auto, and the dials might be used for other things like custom modes , film simulatons. That is the psam dials. But i would like to hear your observations, thanks
I would really love to give you an answer but I have used the XS10 - I would love to though! I shall get a list together of equipment and ask Fujifilm if they can send it! That is true about the dials but I am old school and do love them as I always shoot in manual, never shot in AP or SP - just the way I shoot, I am very tactile and enjoy the challenge of shooting in manual 🙃🦄🤘🏻
Fuji makes too many good cameras! This and the s10 and the e4 are all great and have different pros and cons. There’s no right answer for me but it’s fun doing the research. It was great to find your channel along the way.
I agree! I actually really like there whole range! It is difficult to choose as there is trade offs will all the different cameras but it’s worth doing the research to find what suits you best. Happy researching and thanks for watching 🙂✌🏻
Another fantastic review Victoria 👍 I secretly have had a little interest in this camera body [don't tell my flagship bodies haha]. It looks like a quite practical lightweight and small alternative. Yeah I don't know why but many small camera makers tend to put the tripod socket to close to the battery/card door, its annoying for sure. A good fix that I am open to is mounting Arca-Swiss L-brackets to them that are designed to access what you need yet have dual orientation tripod mounting. Lovely images and footage as always my dear, you seemed to connect with the camera nicely. Chasing Erik around like a loaf of bread with legs had me rolling, lol. too cute! Have a beautiful weekend.
Thank you so much! Hehehe it is a sweet little camera body to be fair! It is so practical and lightweight, I really did enjoy using it and was sad to have to send it back! I know it is such an awkward place for the tripod mount but that is good Idea about the L-bracket. I had to add a case to my Sony Vlogging camera because of the same issue and that did work very well. Thank you for your kind words about my photos and connection with the camera. and yes, Erik is the best loaf of bread in the world, I'll try not to eat him just yet! Have an incredible and wonderful weekend ☺️🤘🏻🦄☀️
Well I really appreciate you watching and commenting even when you don't own a Fuji, that is super kind! Thank you 😊 That is very lovely of you to say, and a huge compliment from you! Thank you ☺️🤘🏻🦄☀️
Love your enthusiasm and energy, stay happy! And your dog is sweet too! I am an ancient photographer who worked for a film company from the 60's to the 90's. I started using digital equipment in the late 90's. I lost all my equipment and all my negatives and slides when I moved to northern British Columbia last year. I still have the digital files on my computer. I have ordered the Fujifilm X-T30ii and am waiting for delivery now. As a senior I'm hoping the small size will be more manageable for me. And the retro look thrills me and reminds me of much of the equipment I have used in the past. Fujifilm's film emulation recipes are a draw to me as well, Kodachrome 64, Tri-X 400, the pastels of Agfa Vista 100, so many to try...
Nice video as always. Did you request the silver colored one specifically to be sent to you by fuji film? I owned two x-s10's and really wanted the manual dials. I just bought the X-T4. I was going back and forth on silver vs black but went with black because the silver can show marks /paint chipping so that was my only reservation. I still think the silver looks more classic. Will you ever get the X-T4? I know you do a lot of video so I was wondering why you did not get a camera with IBIS.
@UCk25kmhNuRqpuKbcIRnaeeQ I am actually really loving the X-T4. I will say a few things. Focus: I have found the X-T4 has a much higher hit rate when it comes to in focus images compared to my two x-s10's. This is in stills mode and using both tracking and single point continuous focus. I am running the latest updated firmware on both. I know this has been observed by some other people as well if they have used both cameras. Battery: The X-T4 has amazing battery life compared to the X-S10. I can run the X-T4 2-3 times longer in my estimation on a single charge. I also like the fact that you can get the external dual battery charger for the X-T4. I use that and it is really convenient. Unlike the X-S10 external charger, the X-T4 dual charger shows percentage left to a full charge. Dual card slots: This can be a life saver if you shoot important events / paid work. I also find it MUCH easier to eject the card in the X-T4 and put it in a card reader to download the images. On the x-s10, you have to struggle with the cramped space. Dials: The manual dials have been great. It has the front focus mode dial which makes it much easier to switch between single point, manual and continuous. Unlike the x-s10 where you have to go into a menu / scroll instead of a flick of a switch. EVF: The evf is no competition. The X-T4 evf is better and bigger. Much easier to see what you are doing. Grip: I dont like the built in X-T4 grip. It is too small for my hands. The X-S10 has a great grip. I just ordered the SmallRig L-Shape Grip. Waiting on it to arrive. Dual screen mode: I dont shoot manual glass but if I did, the X-T4 can do a split screen where it shows both the focus point zoomed in and the entire picture side by side which helps in my opinion because you can see exactly what is being shot as well as the focus all at once. IBIS: seems better compared to the x-s10. I think it is one stop better. Overall build quality: I think the X-T4 feels like a more solid camera. It has a more DSLR "heavy" feel. I think the weather sealing is appealing and adds to that quality. I dont plan to ever shoot in rain drizzle but it helps in case I get caught in one and have to quickly put the camera away. Dont have to stress about it as much compared to x-s10. I am very happy I bought it and just shipped off one of my x-s10's to sell to B&H because I dont need 3 cameras lol
Thank you for watching and for your comment. I didn't request the colour, Fujifilm just sent it to me to test out for a few weeks and that was the colour I got. I have the X-T3 in silver and it has been really great and hard wearing, the silver has hardly marked in 3 years of use. but I did find the X-T30ii chipped and marked a lot easier which was interesting. When I originally got my X-T3 I wasn't into filming, I have only got into filming over the last few months so I didn't think about IBIS with the camera I purchased. I think I would look at an upgrade maybe the X-T4 or the new camera body they just brought out :)
Me and my fiancee have been looking for a camera to document our wedding and honeymoon in Italy. I keep getting directed to the t30ii. Thank you for your amazing review of this camera. I am very new to photography but i love your laid back approach to this review. This has really helped with confirming my decision to purchase and learn this camera
you've got me convinced. I haven't touched a proper camera in a few years but in the fairly near future i'll start traveling and i wanted to finally get myself one. Fuji's aesthetic and film simulations drew me in. I'll pair it with a bit of a big lens for traveling tho, XF16-55mm F/2.8, probably overkill for traveling but i want to have a versatile setup capable of doing pretty much everything i want it too
Well you will love it! I am currently testing the 16-55mm for a review coming up and I personally think it is a great all rounded lens. I don’t think it’s an overkill, it’s a good use of a lens for travelling as it covers so many photography scenarios, wise choice I think! It’s a great lens 🙂
Great review - love your energy! I'm considering investing in an XT30 II after using my X100V for three years now. Video was super helpful in making the decision :) Thanks
Thanks for this video! I’m moving over from Nikon D7100 and can’t decide between x-t30ii or x-t4. Mostly will use for family, street photography and wildlife, so will pair with the 18-55, probably 23mm and telephoto, maybe 55-200. Do you think the x-t30ii can cope with safari in Kenya or am I really only looking at x-t4?
Thank you for watching and your comment! I think my thoughts would be to go for the x-t4 as it is weather sealed and has a dual memory card slot, if you are using it in Kenya I think both of these will be valuable assets! Also the X-T4 (with the battery grip) is a good chunky body to balance out a telephoto lens too. It is a bit more but I think you’ll definitely use the extra features. I hope this helps 🙂
@@wildandfreevictoria Thanks so much. Yes - very helpful. Your channel is great. Your calm and gentle way of communicating is engaging and leaves me happier than when I started, which is often a rarity for TH-cam.
@@andreweaton1240 This is really kind of you to say - and I am sorry for the delay in reply I must have missed this in my notifications! I do appreciate this kind feedback, it's always nice to know how my videos are received and this is so lovely. Thank you ☺
You remind me of my art teacher from a few years ago, your happy personality and free spirit :) I'm glad that you mentioned about how picky you are about the quality you get, that you like it to be sharp and crisp, and after you said that and I saw the images, I really liked them. I think this will be the camera that I get. Thanks for a great video.
Aww this is such a sweet comment, thank you so much! I am glad I reminded you of your free spirit art teacher, thank you ☺️ it is a fantastic camera and I cannot recommend it enough, I am a big fan of Fujifilms equipment ☺️🌈🙏🏻
Hi. I thoroughly enjoyed your wild and free tour of the FujiFilm X-T30ii. I guess I’m not alone in this predicament. I’m an old time film shooter and loved my Olympus OM equipment. I was also very pleased with my decision to purchase a FujiFilm X-T4. But i have smallish hands and found the new camera surprisingly bulky and heavy. I think I’d get out and shoot more street stuff if I had a camera comparable in size to my old Olympus OM-2. Feature-wise it would be a step down to swap the X-T4 for an X-T30ii, or something similar. As an X-T3 shooter would you be comfortable with such a downsizing, or are you happiest using both???
I think I’ve solved my ‘problem'. After a bit of fiddling I’ve come to the conclusion that my very capable X-T4 body is not really such a brick. But when couple with the 16-80mm zoom it becomes a bit cumbersome for easy travel. If I keep the camera and pick uo a light, versatile prime - like FujiFilm’s 23mm f2, I think can become more wild and free too. 😊
Hello Marc, I am sorry for the delay. I am just catching up on my comments now. All in all I think it just depends on what you are planning. I have small hands but I also shot with the X-T3 and the battery grip attached, it just felt comfortable for me. The only reason why I wouldn't down size is because I like the dual SD card slot and the weather sealing. I hope that helps!
That makes sense, if you want to pack like then yes keep it light! and the Fujifilm primes like the 23mm are fantastic! enjoy and happy being wild and free 🙃✌🏻☀️
I really enjoyed your review of the xt30 mk2 it was very different and informative. I’m thinking of buying one Ive DSLR a canon 60d but I rarely use it as it’s too bulky and I’m looking for a camera I can take out wherever I go holidays days out etc to hopefully inspire me to take more photos. A couple of questions… it’s been sometime since you did the video so is the xt30 still the one for that sort of use? And what lens did you use for the sample images I really do love the bokeh effect any advise on this would be appreciated. Again thanks for the review it’s excellent.
Thank you for watching and i’m glad you enjoyed the madness hehe 🙃 yeah the XT30ii is petite compared to DSLR, some find it too small so the XT3,4 or 5 is a good alternative as well. And to answer your questions, yes, I still use the old XT3 and have done for the last 3.5 years and I only recently purchased a newer camera body for filming (XH2S) but still use my XT3 along side it. A camera body is a good investment and will last you a good time, for me it has anyway. And the lenses used were both the new 23mm f/1.4 WR and the 33mm f/1.4 WR primes lenses, both fantastic lenses. After the review I purchased the 23mm as I loved it that much! I hope this helps and I do apologise for the delay in getting back to you, I have been abroad but now back 🙂✌🏻
Thanks for the video - I’m definitely now leaning towards buying an X-T30 II, having had a good old Nikon D3300 for the best part of 10 years. You’ve earned a sub!
Aw thank you so much for this! It will be hard to part from you camera for sure, they see so much of our lives and become like family! best of luck in what ever decision you make and keep shooting 🙃✌🏻
Hi, do you recommend this camera for starting in Photography as a hobby and work? I'm obsessed on the camera's aesthetic and simulations. And what lenses do you recommend?
Yes I would definitely recommend it. It is a fantastic camera and any from the XT series too. I am a big fan of prime lenses but a zoom would be a good options too 🙃
Great review. You covered all the basics. I have the X-T3 and my daughter has the X-T30i. I have the hands too big syndrome so the X-T3 is better for me. I also have a X-T1 and its right between the X-T30 and X-T3 in size. With the XV100 and the X-E4 always back ordered, considering the X-T30ii makes sense and it has several advantages over both. The only thing, check to be sure, but I don't think the X-T30i or X-T30ii are either weather sealed, just the X-T3.
Thank you very much for watching and commenting. It sounds like the two of you make a great combo with your camera and I hope you get out together shooting lots! Yes it is a great camera and does make sense in a lot of ways. I just double checked the weather seal and you are correct, I definitely checked it before but maybe got confused and put it on the wrong list, I definitely read it somewhere though but I will add a note in the description for folk! Thank you for pointing it out.. I kind of feel bad as I took the X-T30ii out in some heavy rain to do some filming, but it did great and worked fine! 🙃🤘🏻
Aw thank you! This made me so happy to read! I think it would be a fantastic camera! If you are planning to use it long term then definitely, there are cheaper models if you are just testing the water - you can hire equipment from Fujifilm too so you can get an idea of what you like. What are you planning to do with it? - this will help with lenses 🙂🙂
@@wildandfreevictoria thanks for replying!! I would love to take photography as a side hobby, always been interested, so definitely long term. Ideally street photography, capturing travels, and nature shots.
I am very sorry for the late reply, TH-cam has a funny way of making replied message notifications disappear! Okie dokie, well i’m a lover of prime lenses and my favourites so far are the 56mm f/1.2 and the new 23mm f/1.4 but the 56 will be too cropped in for street photography and not far enough reach for the wildlife side - same with the 23mm. So you could always go for something that covers multiple focal lengths like the 16-55mm so you can use it for a mixture of everything whilst travelling. And then get a dedicated zoom lens to go with that. Or stick with a prime like the 33mm or the 23mm and then have a telephoto as well 🙂
Just the review i was searching for, great job, thank you! Im not sure if I should get the A6100 or the X-T30 II yet (photography only, no video), but your review helped a lot! PS I loved your vibe, I think its what make it a great video \ review, keep it up!
Thank you for your lovely comment, and sorry for the delay, I think it got lost in my notifications! I hope it helps you in making a decision, it is always tricky knowing what camera to go for but I m glad I could help 🙃✌🏻
@@wildandfreevictoria No worries! I bought the X-T30 ii with the kit lens (15-45) and i love it! I added the XF 55-200 and planning on getting the XF 35mm 1.4 soon.
Thanks for this great video. I’m currently doing research for my first camera ever, and find the colour science of Fujifilm captivating. And I love the look of that camera body! Would you recommend this camera to a complete beginner in 2023? 😂
Thank you very much! And congratulations in your search for a new camera, how very exciting! It can get daunting and confusing as there is a lot out there but i’m sure you’ll find your perfect match! I haven’t use other mirrorless cameras, I always loved Fujifilm - especially the colour science, it is so lovely. And the nostalgic vibe there X-Series has with the style of camera body. I would highly recommend it, I think you get a lot for your money in comparison to other stuff on the market. Fuji have always managed to keep reasonable pricing whilst offering great equipment. What were you plans for it? 🙃
Would you recommend this for beginners or should I get S20 instead? Though, it's pricier. That's why, a part of me wants to get XT30 II and just buy more lenses for it. I want to get into portrait/street photography and can't decide what camera to get :( PS: I really want to get XT30 II + Viltrox 27mm 1.2 or the S20 + 18-55m kit lens?
Good review. I think I'll get one. I carry an Fx10 around with me. As an edc. I have noticed the quality of the pics. These are real cameras unlike cell phones. I do use those as a last resort. A pic is worth a 1000 words. a thousand dollars spent It's not so much the camera It's only time we're lent It flashes by so shutter like It's gone and then it's spent I'd like to take some pictures To reminisce a while Reflections in tranquility enough to bring a smile
Aw I love this! Such lovely words and so true! A camera does speak a 1000 words and much more fun then using a cell phone. I hope you do get a camera soon and enjoy creating art with it 🙃🙃
I just popped into your lovely review. I am now considering between x100v and T30ii. My purpose is just photography when traveling. I wonder whether these two cameras have the same quality picture outcome. X100v is super hot and out of stock so quick now. I really confuse should I buy T30ii instead of x100v.
Another great review Victoria. Can I ask would it be possible for you to do a video on the editing software you use as your photos and videos are fab? 👍😃
Thank you very much for this! And that is a brilliant suggestion, I could definitely have a look at how I could screen record and show how I edit, great Idea thank you! 🙃🤘🏻🦄☀️
Thank you very much! I don’t use it now as I was lent in for a month from Fujifilm but I shoot with the XT3 and XH2S - both Fujifilm and love them very much! 🙃✌🏻
do you thing because the lens you used 33mm f1.4 just make huge improvements for the image quality? i am struggling to decide if should i buy a fujifilm x t-5 with a cheaper lens or buying x t -30ii with a better lens ?
That is a tricky question but very thought out! What are you planning to do with the equipment and where do you plan on going with it? - i only ask because the difference with the x-T5 and x-t30ii is quite significant, so like weather sealing, the sensors and memory card set up. The xt5 is definitely more updatedI guess (although don’t get me wrong the xt30ii is still brilliant), it just all depends on what you want to do and is it a long term investment? - sorry for all the questions 🙃
Fantastic review, thanks! I really adore the design of x-t30 but was going through the info today and seems that Fujifilm X-S10 has almost the same characteristics while having stabilisation in the body. By any chance, have you tried it? are they so similiar?
Really great review! Currently trying to decide between the XT30ii or the new XS20, seeing as I mostly shoot stills I’m edging towards the XT30ii but can’t choose!!
Thank you! Ah it is always tricky to decide! Why don’t you see if you can hire them out and then you’ll get a chance to use them in hand before buying anything 🙃
I have one too and this camera is spectacular!! Very small, very light and very powerful! I use it for Street Photo with 2 perfect lenses Panckake the 18mm equivalent 28mm F2 and 27mm equivalent 40mm F2.8!!!! It fits in a jacket pocket, I carry it in a classic pouch and there is still plenty of space left over, in which I store 2 more lenses!!
I about to upgrade from the Olympus OMD mk4 to this camera. I need a change in my equipment to help me grow more in photography. Great review! thanks :)
So glad to hear it! I don’t think I used a film simulation.. but I do like to shoot on Classic Chrome or Ethereal - if I’ve remembered them right as I like to have less contrast in my images/footage 🙃
I’ve had the X100V before and sold it (god knows why I spent £1700 on it 😅) then got a GR III which actually taught me how to focus without the joystick so yay on that! Now finally getting a Fuji again and realised how perfect this one is due to the dials having so many options especially the iso which I ALWAYS messed up on my GRIII turning auto on by mistake so this will save me a lot of messed up shots with blown out highlights haha. The tilt screen flash will be huge bonuses for me as I shoot at least every scene one low angle as an alternative and a lot of times they come out so well with the depth of field. Can’t wait ❤ awesome review, your personality really shines through and your dog too!!! Happy shooting in the future :)
Thank you for this video! I wish more reviews were like this, fun, calm and clear for those of us who are not experts in photography! I am a beginner but since I was in high school I've always wanted a camera and get into photograph as a hobby, now I can afford one and would like to buy one that is good enough to keep for many many years and take to my trips. I like this camera but it only operates up to 0°C, but would like to use my camera for traveling and I often go to very cold places during winter, do you have any recommendation for that? I'd like to buy a fujifilm one :)
Thank you for watching and for your lovely comment! I like to make my reviews fun and clear 🙂 I have used both the XT3 and XH2S in very very cold conditions - if you look at my cinematic stuff recently you’ll see I was filming in the snow. I have a photographer friend who lives in Canada and he shoots in adverse conditions with both the XT4 and now the XT5 - check out his instagram which is Trent Schlamp and you can see all his shots in the snow 🙂🙂
Many years ago, I was stationed at a very cold Air Force base in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Winter temps averaged 40 deg below zero. My totally manual film camera would literally freeze and the shutter would cease to operate. I learned that I would have to keep the camera inside my parka allowing my body heat to keep the camera warm enough to function, taking it out only when I found something I wanted to photograph. That worked quite will for me.
Hi Victoria I should buy the camera to take with me on the road and I'm undecided between the fuji xt-30 II, xs-10, and the used xt-3. What do you recommend?
Hello! Sounds very exciting that you are on the road! I think the XT30ii would be a great option, just bear in mind there is no weather sealing and there is one SD card slot, on the XT3 you have both of these, so it depends what you are planning on doing and if it is in moody/dusty/rainy weather the XT3 might be better. I haven't used the XS-10 so I cannot say much about this 🙃
Just came across this video, and this is a beefy question, but I am looking to purchase a new camera. My first camera was a Nikon D5300 in 2018 which I still am using today. I want to change over to a mirrorless camera system and have been eyeing the Sony a6400. However, i have come across many videos of fujifilm users liking the x-t30ii and the x-100v so I have been reconsidering. I like the built in filter features fuji offers. I'm not looking to break the bank, but do you have any recommendations on budget friendly options? Was also wondering how much weather proofing matters as that seems to be a deciding factor as well in my decision.
I liked the pictures u clicked. Were actually amazing. But I'm confused as to go for full professional or the starter camera. Should I go fr fujiflim xs10 cannon rp or this one.. Pls suggest me.
Thank you very much! It's a hard decision, I haven't used the Canon range but I can highly recommend the Fujifilm range, I have used it for the last 3.5 years and it's been fantastic. It is all down to personal preference and what you are looking for 🙃
Is it only my experience that the exposure compensation dial is kinda tight to turn? Because of that I end up pushing the function which is in front of it all the time. Is your X-T30 II the same?
I loved your review and your vibe, the more I look at this camera the more I love it, especially because it is small and super stylish, but I just have one doubt that I hope you or someone else can help me with: is the non-stabilised body, it's something I will regret not having or is it compensated well with a good lens. Thanks ☺
Thank you very much for this! It is a very small and versatile camera! I think it depends what you are going to be using it for and what lenses attached. To be honest, I had no issue using the camera body but I never found this an issue on my XT3 either, I am quite a steady photographer so it's hard to tell. I hope that helps you a little bit 🙃
I will buy this camera but I really don't know at all.İTs will be my first and I read some comments here and other videos. And they said beginners-Intermediate for this camera, what do you think about it?And can you tell me some programs for photoshop?
I think it just all depends on what you want to do with it. If it is for casual snapping them maybe it will be too intermediate (just expense wise) but if you are planning to keep it for a while and use it to develop more in photography then I think it will be fine. I started out on the X-T3 and used that for over 3 years. It just depends on what you want to do. And I don't use photoshop but photo editing programmes that I know of include Capture 1 or Adobe Lightroom
hi. planning to buy my first ever camera. but i find it hard to choose between this fuji xt30 ii and fuji xs10.. what do you think is better for beginner?
It is a tricky one as it is a very personal matter, my best advice would be to hire the equipment from Fujifilm and borrow it for a couple days and that way you can get to feel what each camera is like in hand 🙃
Thank you so much! That is a really good question, I think I enjoyed the 23mm f/1.4 simple because I could do a lot of handheld stuff but the 33mm f/1.4 was a lovely angle of view and was very magical to film with! It was tricky to decide! it was all fun ☺️🤘🏻☀️🌊
Hello Victoria... I'm from India and professionally a Pharmacologist but I'm in love with Streetphotography . Today I bought FUJIFILM XT30 II with XC15-45mm kit lens ( This is my first camera ). But wanted to know which lens would be great/ideal for low light photography and for streetphotography??? Need your guidance... I'm having very little knowledge about Cameras and Lenses... please help me out 🙏🙏🙏
Hello! It is amazing to know my videos are reaching as far as India, how cool! And what a wonderful place to do street photography! I haven’t used a 15-45mm, I am a big fan of prime lenses (fixed focal length). It depends on what style street photography you wanted to do, if it is just people then either a 33mm f/1.4 or the 35mm f/1.4 or the 23mmf/1.4 WR or the 23mm older version would be fantastic. If you are looking at architecture then the 18mm f/1.4 would also be great! If you wanted a lens that you could utilise for everything and not just street photography then the 16-55mm is really good and has a constant 2.8 aperture throughout the focal range or the 18-55mm but that doesn’t have the constant aperture. But both of those lens give a good focal range which you can use for other genres of photography as well. I hope this helps 🙃✌🏻
Thank you for your review. I really loved watching (although I get a bit sea sick with the motion - but didn't want to miss anything! Ha! Maybe that's just me!). I've just bought a XT30ii after NEVER carrying my Nikon DSLR anywhere for the last few years (way too heavy), I'm excited to use this beautiful camera and have some fun again! Any thoughts on lenses?
Hello! What can you say about overheat during the recording of 4k videos? Is that true that it overheats so much and it turns off even earlier than the video limit stops the recording?
Hello! To be honest, I never had an issue with this. I am quite efficient with my filming - I don't leave the camera running for long periods of time. But if this is something you are planning to do then definitely research this further. I can say after all the filming and photography that I did, it didn't overheat once. The only time I have experience this on a Fujifilm Camera is on my current camera the X-H2S but when I was in the scorching heat in Tanzania and I was filming lots, so the camera did get too warm but only once and to be expected in such a climate 🙃
Hello, unfortunately I haven’t used the 15-45mm so I couldn’t say which one was better or not. I did use the 18-55 originally when I got my X-T3 but I didn’t particularly like the lens - in my opinion - but a lot of folk do like it 🙂🥰
Hi, new here and this is my camera ... I love it! I had the x-t3 and the x-t20 before that and wanted a baby x-t3...got way more! Question regarding video thought: It's supposed to allow for 30 minutes of continuous video in camera, but not for me. I have the correct class SD card 256 capacity UHS-1 and it still stops recording around 10 minutes. Maybe I'm not understanding the limits. I've been a stills shooter for 20 years and this is my first foray into video. p.s. you dog is sooo cute!!!
Hello! Glad to have you on here! and it is a great camera! So the only think I can think of is, there is a time limit for each for each shooting setting, e.g. if you are shooting in 4K at 60 compared to 1080p at 24. So it might be due to this. Also how many mbps is your memory card? because it might be ok for capacity but if the writing speed is slower this can also have an impact. Hopefully it might be one of these! and best of luck on your ventures with filming, it is so much fun so keep at it! and thank you for the lovely compliment about my dog ☺️
@@wildandfreevictoria Thank you so much for responding! The speed is 170 Mbps. I had a hard time trying to find out if the 300 Mbps would work and since this is new to me I just went with what B&H recommended for the x-t30ii. If you have a recommendation for an SD card that would allow me to record video for 30 minutes I would really appreciate it! Incidentally, thank you for representing the female photographers on YT!
Great review. I think from a picture/image quality perspective there is not much difference between say the XT-20 and XT-30 Mark 1 or 2 - 2 Megapixels difference. The lenses and their quality is the more important factor - this is where I am now investing my $, not so much continuously upgrading camera bodies. I have the X-T1 and XT-20 and these are still great cameras if photography is your main use. For videography, yes the later generation cameras will be better and their focus tracking is improved, but again may or may not be important depending on what you are using your cameras for. Love your videos and work.
Thank you for watching and commenting! Yes I did read a few folk saying the difference between the two camera bodies wasn't a huge change. I've not shot with the X-T20 or X-T30ii so I couldn't really comment but I did notice a difference from the X-T3. It is true though, my camera is still an older generation camera and in some ways, I actually think that's a better way to learn photography because if you start off with buying a camera that does everything for you then you miss the fundamentals and get heavily reliant on your camera taking the picture rather than your own skills. So definitely keep hold of your X-T1 and X-T20, if it's not broken, don't fix it 🙃 Thank you very much again, this was lovely to read! 🙃🤘🏻☀️🌊
This camera looks good for travel because it is very light. Is This your opinion? And what focal length you choose ? 16/80 Fuji. Or no zoom. Thank you for your reply.
It is very compact and light! Definitely great for travelling! If it was me I would just stick with a prime (just personal preference) but if you want to cover all ground then go for a zoom 🙃
Hola ❤me encantaría comprar la t30ii y tú video me ayudó bastante, gracias por tu hermoso video una pregunta para ser mi primera cámara en Fujifilm me aconsejas la t30
I’m not too sure as I haven’t used the XT4. If you are wanted something more robust and weather sealed then go with the XT4, if you want something lightweight and simple to use then go for the XT30ii - both are great cameras 🙂✌🏻
Hi Victoria. Thank you for this casual and carefree review. I have an XT3 but contemplating on selling/trading it and getting an XT30ii due to its compact form factor and the Classic Negative film sim. However, I'm having 2nd thoughts as I'd be losing the WR feature of the XT3. So, curiously, with you being an owner of both the XT3 and the XT30ii as you mentioned ( 6:59 ), I was just wondering how the XT30ii held up if you had used it on dusty environments or extreme weather conditions (not that I'm going to be intentional in using the XT30ii in such circumstances but just wanted to know if dust particles didn't penetrate by your unit which may cause damage within its internal components). Thank you.
This over the xs10? Is ibis a deal break for a beginner? Also does the xs10s processor a that better? Did this camera feel finicky connecting to your phone?
I would love to help but I have never used the xs10. The XT30ii is very good and did not feel daffy or finicky when connecting my phone, it is quite simple
Well admittedly at the time I thought it was weather sealed and went out in the pouring rain with it - i got it soaked! - but for it not being weather sealed it did very well. It didn’t leak or damage the body. Obviously I wouldn’t recommend doing this regularly but it did hold up. I haven’t used it for a long period of time in the rain or dusty conditions so I cannot say what it is like over long use but for the time I used it, it did great 🙃
I want this camera so bad to start learning. Do you think it would be a nice investment, for learning and maybe start doing some small jobs?, or is better yo buy an DSLR camera foit the same reasons ( learning and maybe earn some money)
Well done! 🥰
Aww thank you! this was my aim as to be honest, I felt the same. I just wanted a bit of enthusiasm. So I thought I would make my own videos 🙃✌🏻
I’m surprised this wasn’t as hyped as the 100V and E4. As a photographer who’s switching from Sony, this looks like the closest thing to my A6000 body. As a film photographer, I’m buying this for the film emulation and can’t wait to get hand on this one. I love the small size too! This will be a good everyday carry camera.
i'm excited to get mine🥰 from what i've researched, the x series has different color science VS the Sony line. I'll soon find out. my kid has the a7c.
I've been looking and searching for my first begginer camera and this review has convinced me to buy xt30ii.
Love your enthusiasm and honest review. The quality of both image and video are absolutely stunning ❤️
Really enjoyed your video!
Normally reviews I skim through, but yours was cinematic as it was informative.
And your positive energy is infectious.
Aw thank you so much! I really appreciate this and that you enjoyed it! Positive is how I like to be! 🙂✌🏻
This is going to be my first camera ever, I will pick it up tomorrow and start my journey 😁
Aw this is so great!! I hope you have been enjoying using it! 🙂✌🏻
And what do u think?
@@wildandfreevictoria should I get this or the xt3ii? Would ibis help new street photographers? Stuck between those two, more concerned for photography over video.
@@joeywood4226 u mean the xt4 ? There is no xt3ii
Same for me, will get it the day after tomorrow, I'm so excited!
This video might be quite old but im deciding on which camera to get and your review definitely pushed me more towards this camera. Ill be picking it up in a week or so, thank you this amazing review!
First time in your channel, just
looking for this camera review
I'm impressed!! Not by the camera
itself, but the way you do this
content!
I really enjoy this video!
Aww thank you and welcome! There is plenty more madness on the channel! Welcome 😄✌🏻
@@briankavo
Appreciate your input!
Ordered already 👌🏻
@@aurimaspovilionis3304 Hello, I am not too sure of the answer for that as I do not use the XT4 I use the XT3 but I did notice a faster response for the XT30ii in comparison to the XT3 :)
Your review is spot on !
I've been enjoying very much my X-T30 II for the past few months. I absolutely love it ! I cary it with me every day.
Aw this is super lovely to read thank you! I’m so glad you are enjoying your new camera too, it is a powerful and fantastic little camera! 🙂✌🏻
Ohhhh I think I want this one, beginner photographer, just a hobby I was doing with my phone and I think I'm ready for a dedicated camera. Love the look of the body and the images look really nice. Primarily take photos of flowers/nature and cars.
Aw you should definitely take the leap! If you can test out a few options so you can find what suits you but this is a lovely camera, I thoroughly enjoyed using it 🙂
This helped me make my decision - thank you! And wow... the sunset shot and the b-roll. I felt it all. nice work...
Aw thank you! So glad it could help! Thank you for watching too and I hope you enjoy all your photography adventures 🙂
I have one on order and I'm anxiously awaiting it's arrival once it clears customs.
@@garykings5723 are you still happy with the choice you’ve made? I'm in the position you were in seven months ago 🙃
@@wildandfreevictoria great, I'll be on the lookout 😊
Awesome review. You took some very beautiful stills and videos. Your fun review has convince me to seriously considering purchasing one.
Aw thank you for this! Fujifilm stuff is just brilliant, I love their gear. I hope you enjoy whatever camera you buy 🙃
Cool review, loved the positivity and some awesome shots throughout!
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it ☺️🌈⭐️
creo que es uno de los mejores review que vi hasta hoy!!! 16:35 minutos de buen material!!! bien explicado y nada de aburrido, al contrario!!!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked those shots, the telephoto does a great job of making the sun bigger! Thank you 😊 🤘🏻🦄🌊☀️
I always had a thing for Fuji color science and for some time I have been looking for a camera to always carry with me (therefore small but reliable) and to use occasionally as a B-Camera for my works.
Thanks Victoria. You are a breath of fresh air amongst all others. Great review. Thanks for sharing some of your magic.
Thank you Karin this is a really lovely comment, I appreciate it a lot. I just like to show the heart behind photography ☺️
Thank you for the review! I also like your bubbly personality 😊
Thanks for watching and your very kind words 🙂✌🏻

The L-bracket solution to this issue is a marvelous suggestion. Thanks for reminding me to use this as my remedy.

You remind me of my art teacher from a few years ago, your happy personality and free spirit :)
I'm glad that you mentioned about how picky you are about the quality you get, that you like it to be sharp and crisp, and after you said that and I saw the images, I really liked them.

I hope this helps and I do apologise for the delay in getting back to you, I have been abroad but now back 🙂✌🏻
Great user experienced based review. More crazy outtakes though.... ;)
Thank you so much! and glad to read you enjoyed the crazy outtakes haha! 😆 🤘🏻☺️🦄
Is it any good for bird photography? If so what lens would you recommend? Thank you.
@@wildandfreevictoria I have heard many Fuji TH-cam photographers point out that their non weather sealed cameras have held up well in bad conditions.
Your video helped so much, thank you! Would you recommend this camera to a beginner? And are there specific lenses you recommend starting with?

hi, what camera did you choose?
I love your energy ❤ great video
Aw thank you so much ☺️
Would you recommend this for beginners or should I get S20 instead? Though, it's pricier. That's why, a part of me wants to get XT30 II and just buy more lenses for it. I want to get into portrait/street photography and can't decide what camera to get :(
PS: I really want to get XT30 II + Viltrox 27mm 1.2 or the S20 + 18-55m kit lens?
hi, what did you choose?
Good review. I think I'll get one. I carry an Fx10 around with me. As an edc.
I have noticed the quality of the pics. These are real cameras unlike cell phones. I do use those as a last resort.
A pic is worth a 1000 words.
a thousand dollars spent
It's not so much the camera
It's only time we're lent
It flashes by so shutter like
It's gone and then it's spent
I'd like to take some pictures
To reminisce a while
Reflections in tranquility
enough to bring a smile
Thank you so much for the review! How are you still liking it?
I just ordered the X-T30ii last night. what's your favorite glass to pair up with? Have you tried any 3rd party lenses with it?
Great review! thanks :)
Just got this camera and love it ! Out of interest, what film simulations do you prefer ? If you use them of course 👍
See if you can get an XT3. Look at the review by Roman Fox ‘which Fujifilm camera to get’
Thank you for watching and for your lovely comment!
I haven't used the XS-10 so I cannot say much about this 🙃
@@wildandfreevictoria Thanks in the end I bought an Xt3 with an 18-55 2.8 che mi arriverà proprio oggi non vedo l'ora 😍
It is all down to personal preference and what you are looking for 🙃
I really enjoyed watching your video, it’s really different from others, Thank you for the review definitely gonna try this camera, love it ❤
Thanks for watching and for your lovely words. I hope you tried the camera out and enjoyed it 🙂
Is it only my experience that the exposure compensation dial is kinda tight to turn?

What settings do you normally use on your camera ?
What settings would you like to know about? Filming or photography? And what for, landscape photography or pets etc.?
Do you think I should buy canon 6d Mark 2 or Fujifilm xt 30 ii?
I’m not too sure to be honest, i’ve never used the Canon 6d Mark 2, what are you planning on doing with the camera? I.e landscape, wildlife etc.
It should arrive in a few days, I can't wait to try it! I was undecided with the Nikon zfc but I chose this one I hope I made the right choice

Please suggest the lens to choose.. 18 to 55 or 15 to 45.. Which one is really worth it?
The biggest upgrade is software that allows you to create custom film simulations that can have their own unique custom shift in Auto White Balance.
Lovely content, you've got a subscriber
Aw i appreciate it a lot, thank you ☺️
This camera looks good for travel because it is very light.
@@wildandfreevictoria so if it is a prime, which one for portrait, street and landscape. Insolvable problem 🌈
Hola ❤me encantaría comprar la t30ii y tú video me ayudó bastante, gracias por tu hermoso video una pregunta para ser mi primera cámara en Fujifilm me aconsejas la t30
Hello does Godox TT350F works on this camera?
I have no idea I am afraid, I've not used it 🙃
Yes it does.
RTFM… Very wise advice! 😂 Great video, thankyou.
Haha it is great advice huh? 😆 Thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed it! 🙃🤘🏻🦄☀️
Brilliant review and love the video filming. Beautiful 👍
Thank you very much! More filming stuff on the way ☺️☀️🌊
Which one would you say is better fujifilm xt30 ii or fujifilm xe4?
Thank you.
Ordered one today kit lenses my 1st ever Fuji
Awww welcome to the Fuji family!! It’s a very supportive and awesome one! If you need any help, just shout 🙃✌🏻
This over the xs10? Is ibis a deal break for a beginner? Also does the xs10s processor a that better? Did this camera feel finicky connecting to your phone?
X-S10 and X-T30 II share the same processor and sensor so the image quality is exactly the same.
I would love to help but I have never used the xs10. The XT30ii is very good and did not feel daffy or finicky when connecting my phone, it is quite simple
@@wildandfreevictoria thank you, I needed up going over my budget anyways… $: I got the xt5
Hi! Do you know of any major differences between this style and the x100v? Thank you!!
Hello! I would love to help but I haven’t shot with the x100v. I have seen there are lots of comparisons on Google though 🙃
@@wildandfreevictoria thank you!
@@wildandfreevictoria have you had any restrictions with it not being weather sealed?
Hey I can't find most of the video settings including the f log setting
Double check the manual but it should be in the log profile
