  • Injections for hip pain are typically offered by doctors as a way of getting relief for common hip problems like osteoarthritis, hip bursitis, hip tendonitis, IT band syndrome, hip labrum tears, bone on bone hip arthritis, cartilage damage and more.
Some injections are focused on immediate pain relief, while others are more for long-term hip pain relief.
In this video Dr. David breaks down the top 5 hip injections available to help treat hip pain.

My personal experience after two years injections and therapies that never helped the pain. I had hip replacement. Pain vanished in one day, walking in two days. Should have done this first, not as a last resort. Hip replacement today is much advanced than is was 10 trs ago.

Thanks so much for your help! I’m just finding this channel & trying out the exercises for osteoarthritis hip pain! Will losing a lot of weight keep me from having hip replacement surgery? I’m horrified at having surgery and will try anything else! Thanks again!🙏🏽

Hey Deborah! Great question, weight loss can play a roll in avoiding both hip and knee replacement surgery, but it is just a piece of the whole plan to help hip arthritis. If the amount of weight loss is big, then it might be a priority to work on. If you don't have that much weight to lose, then it would be better to focus on getting stronger in the right areas. Does that make sense Deborah?

Thanks so much for answering my question & yes it makes so much sense!😊 One last question, I’ve been taking shark cartilage & bovine collagen powders. Does that help to restore joint damage at all? Do you know of any supplements that’ll help! Thanks for your kindness & patience with my questions!🤗

I had two injections in my left hip over a 15 year difference. The first day it was a little numb. Afterwards it was awesome. I hope others have such a great outcome.

@@epmanualphysicaltherapy Thank you for your concern.I’m told I have bone on bone and I m contemplating replacement in3-4 months. Haven’t spoke to surgeon about his approach but his scheduler said he normally goes posterior and I’m concerned about blood loss ,infection compared to anterior. I was referred to my surgeon by a friend who had great results with 2 knee replacements. Don’t see a lot of reviews about hip replacements and his reviews are mixed. I know reviews aren’t the end all be all but I think I should get a 2nd opinion. I’m in GA. I’m 68 and if I’m going to do it I need to now. Thanks 4 your concern.

Immediate pain relief for the hips? Acupuncture is the BEST. Needles, but nothing in them, -maybe some electricity and some cupping!

Hey Linda! We've heard many patients get temporary relief from acupuncture. It is a great alternative to medications for sure!
