    Didn't the "browns and neutrals" thing start in the early to mid 2010s with the nude/matte everything, specially makeup? I would personally credit this to beauty TH-camrs, specially creators of color, middle Eastern ones. I believe the Kardashians pick and chose a lot of details from the aesthetics of minority groups like black and middle Eastern women, as well as the LGBTQ+ community, since drag queen were the ones who originally came up with "contouring" (they - Kim - probably learned that from a makeup artist). I do think they're influential and have changed fashion, but rather than being original, they popularize trends and help them take off. After all, they're influencers.
    Great video!!!

    • @CampbellStudio
      @CampbellStudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      100% the point of the video!! It’s about their impact and influence on fashion, they were definitely not the creators of these trends, rather helped popularise them! :)

    The Kardashian aesthetic seems so bland and boring in my opinion. Everything looks the same and feels too, polished? Honestly, I thought their clothes from the earlier seasons looked more interesting (I don't care if people say that they looked "tacky"). Kim K's clothes are nice, but they're the equivalent to a huge and expensive house that is empty, plain, and lifeless. It's fine, but personally, I'm tired of the minimalist trend that the Kardashians sort of influenced.
    Also, I'm glad that the contouring trend has died out too, not because I think it looks bad, but because it only looks good of you're extremely skilled when it comes to makeup. It's easy to make it look very terrible if you're not good at putting on makeup. Lol

      Kims style before Kanye got involved looked more like she was trying to look rich with all the accessories and clothes in my humble opinion. Current style is much better.

    I think its actually quite scary to see their influence. I still cant forgive how the family and public allowed a 16 year old Kylie to date Tyga (a grown man) or how normalised lip filler became because of Kylie's surgery (to which she was also underage). Even now with the rise of the BBL, its scary that body and cosmetic procedures are becoming "trends", last week Khloe was interviewed saying that fat folks are just lazy as if she didn't have nutritionists, personal trainers and surgeons to help her achieve the look she has.

      I think this also has to do with how women have been told on how to look for like centuries, you know? i dont think any woman would do these things if it werent because of men perpetuating(not sure if it's the right word to use, sorry, english is my second language and i cant remember the correct word) beauty standards, because men always tell women how to look and act. Also how communities like MGTOW/incels who cant see women other than objects and 1-dimensional stereotypes, plus how they always talk about how women "hit the wall" at 30 as if we're only worth our ovaries and as such tend to talk about how they should only be 18-19 year olds (or even younger) idk its just...really weird

    I disagree with what you say of “european” beauty standards, Europe is a continent rich in culture and each country differs from the others when it comes to beauty standards. But I can assure you a few years back no one here looked or wanted to look like the Kardashians, if anyone does now it’s because they also have become big here. It’s interesting to think about how the Kardashians’ initial impact on the fashion industry started because people were intrigued by their body shape, which was unlike the Paris Hilton-type body that was so popular in the fashion industry at the time. They choose to show off their curves, yet still look fashionable, which is something that young women hadn’t seen in fashion for a long time. While this definitely has helped some women with body acceptance, it’s also important to note that the Kardashians all have “perfectly” sculpted bodies because of their plastic surgeries, which is just an unobtainable standard for most women to reach.
