These games really are the greatest. SSX and SSX Tricky. Imagine if they were remastered with online lobbies and leaderboards? Tbh the Graphics don’t need updating at all haha I love the way these games look, timeless.
I'm not arguing the legitimacy of it, just pointing out the fact so many people comment without being aware of the fact this isn't an actual human playing in real time also legitimacy in which context? please explain and personally I see what you mean but that's your opinion, I love playing SSX myself but I find enjoyment out of TAS videos because they show to what extent you can push the game's rules
I always have to ask someone that says a TAS isn't legit if they've ever tried to make one. It still requires a butt load of skill from the end user, but doing a TAS eliminates some of the consistency required to make a perfect unassisted run. Doing a TAS is basically like cutting the run up into several scenes and re-recording each individual scene over and over until you get an absolutely perfect take on it. It's like making a movie.
I find it insane that you managed to get the character to jump high enough that it made the announcer talk about the UFO when you had already passed it
Not to judge anyone heres, but isn't using "tools" kinda the same thing as "cheats" since it let's you, I presume, jump higher for instance? Just curious.
While I do see where you're coming from, the definition of tool (at least to me) does not extend to using outside things like Action Replay. The tools used are instead used to manipulate the controller in ways humans are VERY unlikely to do. Essentially these videos are what it would be like if a "perfect human" did everything as precisely as we can imagine, so if a human had perfect reaction times and knowledge, they could pull this off on an official hardware (with some exceptions, there's a TAS out there that presses both left and right at the same time on an NES controller for a Legend of Zelda run, which is not possible on unmodified hardware.) Hopefully this got my point of view across, even if it was a little long-winded.
it's tempting me to try again on stream on gamecube via twitch, I have a HDMI to AV capture card, but i think i lost my drive for SSX games, I'm too old
I actually got 6 million on this track in TAS already, and it does use that trash can launch! Rashid Khan got 6.3 mil with an extra launch from a pole in the half pipe on a 5x, but his channel got deleted, so i can't see the vid anymore. One day i might try to beat his score..

T R I C K Y (HHHHHH!!)
I love when people stumble upon TAS videos and don't know what a TAS is
In my opinion TAS isn’t legit, although cool to look at, I’d rather see someone get this much points with actual skill rather than being assisted

TASes are definitely legit. They require as much skill and more dedication.
This is a classic TAS. Nice one.
