I cannot believe how useful this video had been for me. I have been one of those people that never messed with the settings on my overlocker. OMG !!! thank you so much for this video. Now I know why I've had problems with some of the fabric I've used in the past. This has just been a fabulous learning experience for me and I cannot thank you enough.
Thank you so so much. This is why I started my channel! x
This might just be the most useful thing I’ve ever learned about my overlocker 😊thank you
You’re so welcome 😊 Thanks for watching! x
Very helpful, especially seeing the difference when you laid the different fabrics flat on the table. Thank you.
Yay! Thanks so much for watching! x
What a clear explanation of how the differential feed affects the overlocking on different fabrics, thank you so much. Definitely going to test out different settings the next time I use my overlocker
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much! x
Wow thank you. I’m about to start sewing a dress made of jersey & this video has helped a lot with my understanding of the differential feed. My Dad was a engineer & used to talk a lot about differential feeds, I kind of understood with his machinery & now this has clarified the overlocker too 😊
Yay! Thanks so much! Happy overlocking! x
So good to see the fabrics on the table!! Thank you.
Thanks for watching! x
Hi Sophia 😊 Thank you so much. That was a great tutorial i know now where i was going wrong. Im going to get all my bits of scraps of different fabrics now and make myself some notes. Thank you so much 🤗
Yay! Thanks so much! x
Awesome lesson. I’m going to look back at the others. Definitely need all the help I can get on my serger. Thanks
Yay! Glad you found it helpful! And yes please to checking out more of my content! Thank you. x
Brilliant lesson, thank you. I'm going to have a go on mine now. I've never touched the differential feed lever before.
Yay! Thank you! x
Love your videos. You are such a good teacher. Unfortunately I do not have a differential feed. Now I wish I had something I didn't know I needed. 😀
Oh no! Sorry! But thanks for your kind comments! x
Thank you so much for such a clear explanation for the DF, much appreciated.
Thank you so much! x
Thank you very well explained and all the mystery has been removed.
Yay! Thank you! x
Excellent video, informative, clear and concise. Thank you
Thanks so much! x
Really helpful thank you will have a practice run now before I start a new project. Good seeing the difference when laid out on the table 👍
Thanks so much! x
Certainly learnt some useful info and may start using my overlocker again - thank you
Thank you so much! Happy overlocking! 🧡
Great video and invaluable teaching!
Thank you so so much! 🧡
This was great, always been a bit hit or miss with this... thank you.
Can you please do a video on rolled hems..
I've got something to do with rolled hems next week..... but might be a little different. x
Very clear and de-mystifiying. I had problems with my overlocker the other day sewing elastic into the waist of a skirt. I guess that would have helped? I broke two needles o. The overlocker and I never have that.
It definitely would have helped. But also could be the wrong needles!? X
That is amazing, simply and clearly explained. I’m just about to overlock a slippery viscose, I will play around first. What about using 3 or 4 needles? That scares me too!
Do you mean 3 or 4 threads? It's just a different effect in my opinion. Have a play with what you think looks best for what you're making. (Or use 3 threads when you run out of the 4th spool haha). Thanks for a lovely feedback. x
Really useful thank you Sophia !
You're so welcome! Thank you! 🧡
Gosh, I now understand why my fabric wasn’t behaving 😊
Haha! Yay! Thanks for watching! x
Brilliant! Thanks so much.
Thanks for watching! x
Very helpful. Thank you 😊
You’re so welcome 😊! x
Great vlog! Thank you 😊
Thanks for watching! x
Was great, thank you!
Very useful thank you❤
Glad it was helpful! Thank you x
What fabric would the 2 setting be for?
I have to say I've never used it.... but you may find different fabrics edge closer to that setting? x
Hi Sophia
Thanks for your informative vlog. What setting would you recommend for viscose? I also find that the quality of the overlooking can differ when using single as apposed to double fabric. Should it be necessary to alter the settings? Thanks for your thoughts.
Thanks for watching! Depends on the viscose type but maybe just above 1? Have a play. And always worth testing two layers if that's what you're mostly using it for. x
Thank you! I'll try that x
Great video. You are an excellent teacher!
Wow, thank you so much! 🧡
Really useful- thank you. 👍
Thanks so much! x
