As I watched you struggle with the bike gears on your accent I started to wonder if you would make it to the lake and then I remembered that you are a six time gold medalist! Keep working and training Lisa. I can't wait to see your adventures in Iceland. Those drone shots are incredible and you are doing a fantastic job of editing and adding music to your TH-cam posts. Keep them coming.
I did almost turn around when I couldn't stop the gear from clunking and couldn't get into the easiest gear... but I'm glad I pushed through because it was an accomplishment. Thank you so much for noticing my music and editing. I have certainly improved over the last year. My first videos were..... juvenile? I might actually be getting the hang of this TH-cam thing.
Lisa! I was so scared going down those hills with you! Reminded me of my younger self, when I was bold and brave! Thank you for reminding me of how it felt to feel wild! If you ask me you’re more than ready for Iceland!
@ I mean that is the main thing 😂 u definitely got it though. If I could do it again I might have given myself more rest days tbh ! I was on a time crunch but it would have helped a ton to have some low/no mileage days ! Also plan ahead for the tunnels that cyclists aren’t allowed to pass through! The busses can be iffy about taking cyclists through. Best of luck out there sister!
So glad you are feeling better & back to training 👍🏻💯👏🏻🎉 I’m anxiously awaiting a new wheelchair, as I’ve been too cooped up since the end of June. I have to go through the whole ADP process again so hopefully 2025 I will have new wheels 🛞 👍🏻😁 at 77 I get an electric one. I’m so inspired by you & can’t wait for the fantastic videos of your Icelandic adventures 👍🏻🤗
I had to laugh because I just said I was going to go heavy on the brakes and not go too fast... and then 30 seconds later I'm hitting 50 km an hour haha
With a schedule like yours, you body has to stop you anyway it can. Thrilled you back, quite a challenge you have lined up for 2025. Recover gently...let your body be the boss.
I don't think I'll ever love climbing... I prefer distance grinds on flats.... but once in a while it's kind of fun and you certainly earn the downhill fun!
@@Keepinitwheel306 I was born in Smithers B.C. and was raised in the mountains so i had no choice in high elevation climbing ......... always relish those downward fun moments ........
The key to endurance is just go out there and ride every day ride ride ride, endurance will come with time. It does help to have somebody to ride with to help motivate you.
I totally take my cap off to you Lisa . You are truly remarkable with everything you have achieved in life and doing Van life and exploring in a wheelchair is beyond amazing . Your channel is brilliant and a inspiration to everyone
After watching your video, I’m blown away by your journey! Your resilience and determination are incredibly inspiring. Tackling 120 km a day in Iceland is going to be quite a task, but I have no doubt that your strength and perseverance will get you there. Watching you push through challenges and embrace the beauty of nature motivates me to strive for more in my own life. Please keep a close eye on your pressure points for redness, and the fact that you’re doing all of this while being paralyzed is truly amazing. Managing your pressure points and even taking care of bowel care at the same time during such an intense trip is incredibly inspiring. Way to go, Lisa! I hope you succeed and can’t wait to see how you conquer Iceland!
You are truly an incredible woman to be able to overcome your past and carry on with your adventures. And the best part is your sharing of the adventures. I was nervous for you on the ride but you did a perfect job of navigating and knowing your and the bike’s abilities. The scenery was pretty with the colored leaves and the snow covered mountains. I am grateful you got to your destination and got to see that beautiful lake. The drone shots are so good and just expands your trip and the music enhances the movie. Thank you for making these videos.
I can’t believe how strong your arms are! ❤👏 Oh my gosh, I had that unsettling feeling first time hiking alone. ❤ Beautiful drone views! Understand managing the pain daily.❤
@Keepinitwheel306 you know we love you, just like knowing your ok! Btw your gonna do great on your trip, who cares if you finish, just give it your all and be safe. It's gonna be beautiful regardless. Glad you dropped a vid, always makes my day!
My hats off to you Lisa your rock star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️❤❤❤keep heading in the direction of all your dreams and goals ❤❤❤❤you are such a ho getting ❤❤❤ it gives me strength to push myself ❤❤❤ thanks for sharing ❤❤❤Rock on🎉🎉
Wow - what an adventure! I needed this reminder - keep trying, keep challenging myself, and I'll see I can probably accomplish more than I expect. Thanks for taking us along to this beautiful place!
Hi Lisa, you are absolutely inspiring. I am a person with a disability and you just inspired me to be better. I just really love and appreciate what you do and how you do it , thank you once again for the wonderful video , Cliff from Logan City, Queensland, Australia , 🇦🇺 I’m on the big island 🏝️
I’m still jealous of that drone! 😊. Beautiful location and congratulations for making it the lake and back! That’s quite an achievement even if you hadn’t just come off being sick for weeks. You’re an inspiration.
Yes, that crash was a wake up call... I am actually very cautious, but I was trying to keep up with a friend in that crash. Lesson learned - only stay in my comfort zone!
I'm in a wheelchair as well, I completely understand the continuous thoughts of everything that could go wrong. I flew across the country by myself for the first time a few years ago, I was pretty nervous! Especially because of the connecting flights. But nervousness changed to pride when I landed successfully. It's tough when something happens and all the things that used to be simple, now require extra time and prep. To have your whole life change in a blink of an eye. But just because it's different, doesn't mean it's bad. You are a wonderful example of that. Beautiful job on the bike ride, absolutely amazing!! I hope you have the best time in Iceland!
Woohoo! So impressive! Period! I'm celebrating your accomplishment with you 🎉 Iceland sounds like a dream trip! I'm looking forward to seeing it! That crash looked gnarly! You are a brave, brave woman ❤
That was a cool place for a bike ride, What a beautiful lake with the mountains around it, great place for a snack break. Your drone footage of the area is a really neat addition to your video. You are taking some great video with it.
Hi Lisa, What a great video! I found myself watching on the road, for the next big old logging truck. Such a beautiful view when you reached your destination, and the drone video, and the straight stretch on the road. The drone takes wonderful videos. That's a nice skill to have - learning how to use that drone. PLus I would have no idea how to make a video, you have many many talents. I found myself wanting to say out loud: "Wheeeee" ... when you were going 45 km/hr downhill. Such a thrill! I've gone for long bike rides, but never that far. It gives me some motivation to try harder next summer. Thank you for this. Enjoy your mornings, noons and nights. Keep wheelin! Love your smile!
My little 10 foot off-road trailer is the same way every time you get in or out your track dirt and debris in, I keep my little blue trailer Broom and dustpan right next to the door. I think this is common with all full-time campers and vanlifers Just something we have come to accept as part of the daily routine.
I am so amazed at what you are doing, I am 84 and have lived a life of hard work and raising children and now find myself with AMD and very hard of hearing, so at times i feel sorry for my self as i canno longer be independent as far as driving or even buying groceries by myself as i cannot see prices , but after watching what you can do by yourself, i try not to compliain,. God bless you as you continue on your great adventure, +
Wow that ride in 2025 certainly sounds like a tuff challenge, I do hope you are able to have some support vehicles along the route. Today’s ride was amazing, thanks for taking us along.awesome effort Lisa, thanks for the updates as well. Happy surfing in winter sounds amazing.
What a ride, I can only imagine the thrill you got at making it to the lake, You’re a pretty remarkable woman, hats off to you. Everyday, what us able body people do yours takes twice as long and challenging, love your videos, only found you through Chrome. Cheers Judy from Australia
Oh how I wish you could run a class to help me and many others get motivated! I wish so much to one day get a bike like yours however I don’t think I could ever afford it. Please think about possibly having an introductory class on wheelchair exercise and motivation. You truly make me cry when I see how strong, powerful and amazing you are.
I really enjoyed going along with you on that ride! You gave yourself quite a workout. One thought: I do hope that you carry bear spray with you on trips like that and keep it readily available. Bears have a habit of suddenly being there when you weren't expecting them!
What timing! I was on my road bike on a Saris trainer riding an Iceland route on Rouvy app and turned on this vid as you mentioned Iceland. So I rode with you as you rode! Good times! Thanks for the workout shared! 😎
Hi, sweet Lisa. I'm glad you are out there in nature enjoying yourself. 120 km!!! Wow! I can only do 120 km if I have gasoline in the tank. LOL. I'm a magnetic for wildlife. If I were where you were, I would have had a ton of encounters. Forgwt about grizzlies, I would encounter big foot, ghosts, dinosaurs, etc. I'm unique, what can say?
