My best friend in the world is the guitarist of thisishowitendedintokyo and he says this album is our generations equivalent to Capn jazz’s shmapnshmazz album. Complete agree. One of the best Midwest emo epics ever. It’s a damn shame TMP doesn’t do any of this material anymore. I don’t care Larry Bird is a tear inducing track every time.
yeah and idk why they didn't include their first LP on their bandcamp because that album is underrated, a little bit rough on a edge but still slaps nonentheless
@@endochronic_ if i'm not wrong, someone has mentioned before they were very much embarrassed about waves rise waves recede, and doesn't want anyone to know about it. imo it's a pretty banger record, despite the honestly very terrible mix LOL
Just found this when I was looked TMP on sophies floorboard. Honestly I like the album, lots of people have said the vocals suck but I like them. Imperfect vocals really suit this type of music

Jensen Zane dude. This band is the fucking best live. The rest of their entire discography is amazing. Even thier early stuff like this, and the ep/splits there done
It’s not meant to be as “Singy” it’s more a scream style singing which has kinda a different approach melodically. They were probably emulating vocal styles like circle takes the square and cap’n jazz and he pretty much nailed that
