      @@stevenblair980 Don’t ever sell it. I sold mine and got a zx14r. It’s a great bike, but it’s a boat in comparison and just overkill. I’m getting another 750 this year brand new, and I can’t wait. It’s my favorite bike of any supersport ever, and I’m more of a Kawasaki guy, but the 750 is perfect to me. Great bike, and it still comes new with the analog rpm gauge!!!! Not that electric display crap.

      @@yetiguy1714 yeah the big bikes hayabusa and zx14 handle like crap with all the weight. I've had a gsxr 750 and had 3 gsxr 1000s handling wise I didn't notice any difference... except the first 1000 I had ( k7 ) handled like crap but then I got a K5 handled just the same as k6 750 then my current L2 which is the same. I definitely couldn't go back to a 750, I redline my 1000 often so a 750 wouldn't be enough power for me, I'm even too used to the 1000cc power that I really want more lol

  • @Hellbentbiker
    @Hellbentbiker 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +133

    People don’t realize that you only see the big difference as the speed increases. 0-60 time for 600s, 750s, 1000s are all within tenths of a second. 2.5-3 seconds. Hell a stock 860lbs. Harley bagger is just over 4.
    For the average rider on the street this is splitting hairs. Who Fs up less wins.
    As the speed increases you’ll see the advantage of the 750 and 1000.
    For me on the track the 750 is the most usable.
    Take a professional rider on the track and he can beat us mortals even if we have a much faster bike. If we were that good we would be professionals but we are not.

      EXACTLY. I yell this everywhere I hear guys say “a 600 is too slow” or “anything under 1000cc isn’t enough power” like buddy, you ride once a week on public roads. You do not need a 1000cc super sport to go to the gym or grab a drink. Cut the bullshit. Guys focus way too much on engine size, and not enough on learning skills and practicing. The power difference between my zx14r and my gsxr 750 is barely noticeable until about 110-120mph. Then you notice a big difference, but who’s going 110-120 everywhere? If you are, you won’t be for long. IMO, the GSXR-750 is one of the best super sports ever made. Especially if you actually ride and use the thing everyday like I do. Not just a weekend warrior, fair weather rider. (To be clear, this is not directed at you at all, I’m referring to other comments I’ve seen)

      @@yetiguy1714 it surprises me alot that you don't notice the power diff until that high a speed , i figured it would be evident from the get go.
      saying that if you spend most of your time on the road in lower revs whether for noise or mechanical sympathy , a 600 ( super sport especially) will feel very gutless. same reason i never wanted one in spite them being plenty fast.

    • @yetiguy1714
      @yetiguy1714 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@killernugget97 Gutless how? When do you ever need more power? I’ve been in some close calls, and never felt I didn’t have enough power on a 600cc supersport. Now on my MONSTER 2banger z650 pushing 35hp, I have no power and I still handle the highway just fine, but a 4banger supersport pushing 100+ hp on a bike weighing less than 400lbs? If you can’t get enough power out of that for everyday use, it’s definitely a rider skill issue. I understand guys WANT the power of a 1k, and I don’t dispute that. I dispute guys saying they NEED a 1k. You don’t NEED a 1k for public road use, and 80% of the guys I see can’t even make a u-turn without putting their feet down, so I know damn well they cannot properly handle that bike. If you have the skill and restraint to control one, cool, but most simply do not. It took me a long time to understand and be able to control serious power in a bike, and I’m still learning. I’ll always be learning, but my skills are enough to where I’m confident in my abilities, but still understand that I’m not a professional racer.

      @@yetiguy1714 its never a need , its entirely the expectation of how you want a machine to act and its capability. I rode a ninja 250 for 5 years and its all you need but as far as what i want , the 600s simply dont do it for me (tall gears and revvy). Simple as that , riding one to me they just feel gutless especially considering a zx14r is my daily/commuter.

      @@RobertMorgan no it just means it has a longer stroke cycle. That’s why it can’t rev to 16k because the engine stroke is longer. The 600 has a shorter stroke that’s why it’s able to rev higher because the compression isn’t as hard as the 750cc

    I used to school guys like this in the twisties on a 650cc v2 with all suspension and no power mods. All that bike and they can't use more than 10% of it.

    • @yosjoleyyosjoley8065
      @yosjoleyyosjoley8065 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah that does happen, but some of us started on inline 4s and are more comfortable than the average rider. I may only be able to use 60 or 70% of my 600 gsxr's capabilities but that's still well more than 100% of a 750v2. Point isnt the exception, i realize Im an outlier in special circumstances. I dont race alot but theres a couple big bikes, cbr1000 and a K10, where I live on a rural mountain, weve raced across the mountains and I've beaten both of them before even though they have way more displacement. Im lighter and for alot of 90s they didn't have the chance to top end and leave me. My point is whomever has the higher skill level has the advantage as long as the bikes are close in output, but I also understand your point about being able to beat bikes that have almost 2x the displacement. That's generally a huge skill/confidence gap moreso than anything to do with the machines.
      I almost settled on a 750v2 but went with the gsxr600 instead and love it, a twin is it's own experience, in twisties I'd still stick with my track bike over a road cruiser/sportster. I always worry about high siding on cruisers and then being crushed.
