@@pietrojenkins6901 I wish you were right except that these issues did not exist till "democracy" returned, and Nigerians no longer choose their leaders. Under the military at the lower levels and parliamentary levels they were able to choose their leaders as actual elections took place. Conflict in Nigeria is more international than localised just like ISIS was an international actor so ISWAP and the Fulani bandits are not localised issues. Get to know the issues before making uninformed comments. Nigeria is synonymous with cyber crime yet she is not on the top statistically. Nigeria's issues are not a reflection of the majority of her people but the arrogance of certain external actors and the cretins they favour.

Nigeria formally owned by the Royal Niger Company and sold to the British who further exploited the resources, today the Royal Niger Company is still trading as Unilever. Post colonial era the Northern oligarchs have continued from where the British stop, this exploitation will continue until oil becomes totally redundant in 2030. This is the tip of the iceberg, the billion of dollars that it will cost to clean up the Delta can never be afforded by Nigeria especially with the demise of oil. The health implications are immense, I nearly died breathing polluted air in Port Harcourt in 2014 during a business trip. I don’t blame the oil companies, it is the role of the Nigerian government to regulate activities of oil nationals.

Why would the oil money be shared equally? I lived in Texas 10 years ago. The gas was over $5 a gallon, like it is now. But the roads are in disrepair, many are extremely poor, to the point the train tracks is what separates rich from poor. They pay their workers federal minimum wage at $7.25 and believe in paying workers in tips. Tips were invented so white people didn't have to pay former slaves an hourly wage. which is still living strong today. And that's the united states. Not some poor nation so again why would you think the rest of the country gets a spread of the wealth when us rich countries don't

@@balafama2120 you're right and wrong, it potentially started in Europe but the reason we adopted it was because slavery...history class is in session
At least two accounts state that there was no tipping in the United States prior to 1840, Kerry Segrave writes in "Tipping: An American Social History of Gratuities." Wealthy Americans are thought to have brought tipping back to the United States from lavish trips to Europe in the years leading up to the Civil War.
The new custom was thought of by many as un-American because it was classist, Saru Jayaraman has explained to several reporters over the years.
But in the United States, fresh out of the Civil War, formerly enslaved people were able to find most work in food service or as railroad porters, jobs that relied on tips. Many employers who wanted to hire the formerly enslaved also wanted to keep them at a low wage.
"When the practice came to the United States, the newly freed slaves, the black workers, were the equivalent of the proletariat in the feudal system
Several states tried making it illegal "When these states banned tipping, it was because they were trying to discourage whites from tipping instead of actually paying former slaves," Jayaraman told the Post. Of six states that made tipping illegal, five were in the South, where the idea was that only Black workers were making tips because "you only tip inferiors," Jayaraman explained.
Also in the early 1900s, Pullman rail company was investigated by the Railroad Commission of California. Even though the company, which employed mostly Black workers, was a proponent of tipping

The problem is the Nigerian people in charge of the wealth....
It seems to not reach the civilians.
No infrastructure being built, no business, etc.

The city I grew up in. It was not a problem then. The air was reasonably clean aside from the odd harsh Harmattan season.
My mother owns a school there and is constantly talking to us about it. It is a travesty. More so since I am nominally in the Oil industry myself.
It is practically the only source of gainful international standard employment one can hope to acquire in this mess of a country.

Same for the farmers of Brazil. Forced to cut their trees , in order to buy food. They make it so that the only way to live is to participate in the destruction of their own beautiful, ancient, abundant, natural, HOME. 😠heartbreaking 💔

Really? In a compound, all elements contribute their quota. If you isolate any of the elements, you have falsehood. The blame firmly go to the Whites who encourage Africa despots, giving them peanuts in order to gain access to the resources. And also those Africans themselves who forever refuse to wake up from their snooze. But wait, most of them don’t even stand a chance because poverty has already embalmed them.

This is sad. The political traditional and religious leaders all failed their people. They’ve refused to speak 🗣 out against all the corruption going on in Nigeria 🇳🇬 and I also blame the ordinary citizens who has refused to take to the streets for a revolution. Nigeria 🇳🇬 is a hopeless cause. This brings great pains to my heart seeing how our people live back home and they’ve come to be accustomed to such a lifestyle.

the problem is it is also caused by the people who steal oil and refine it illegaly, they probably add a lot to the pollution since they certainly don't filter their exhausts
