That’s awesome. Moved a family of 8 from the UK to Ghana in January this year and we are based in Kumasi. Next month is a year and we are glad we made the move. I share our journey on our channel as well. Wishing you all the best!
I am a Ghanaian youth based in Ashaiman and trust me you don't know how inspired I am now. Especially with the architecture display right in this video as well as the knowledge and eye opening discussion you ladies had. Thank you. "MAKE GHANA GREAT AGAIN 🇬🇭"
That was the same conversation many Caribbean parents had with us as North American(Canadian and American)born children. They demonized their own countries and literally scared us to never go back and visit, much less live. Thank you all for sharing this conversation 🙏🏿. 💛💚🖤💛💚🖤🇨🇦🇯🇲🇨🇦🇯🇲
I had the best time on the show, thank you Dentaa and the entire team. Its so important to share positive stories, often times we focus on the negatives. It has not been easy but it will be worth it. Happy to connect with anyone contemplating making the move! Thanks again

So great to see representation from Toronto, Canada! This past winter was especially difficult and we are only starting to get warmer weather in April. The neighbour thing is so real. I haven't spoken to my neighbours and been living beside them for years. I love that you can find community in Ghana. As always, great interview Dentaa!
I think the panel is aware of that . They are just speaking up peoples mind and bringing out their solution how they are making it work . I think also they are thankful to their parents but they want to make Ghana their home
I Had an amazing time being on the show. Super grateful to share the light and I'm super glad to see the Canadian community here. I pray this adds to your transition coming to Ghana and you make that move. Blessings Dentaa and the amazing Team.
Hello Awura Ama. It was nice watching you on the program with such poise and great representation. Don't try to figure out who it is, your uncle from Maryland. Please extend my regards to Nancy, and your parents. Keep on grinding, it will get better.
I’m sooo proud of you. I’ve been pondering on that idea to move back for sometime now. That peace in Ghana cannot be bought. I’m also living in 🇨🇦. All the best girl
The government must have a small but very serious and effective project management team at the presidency to monitor these channels for all the feedback regarding issues in Ghana and work on addressing them. Whether you accept this reality or not, the contributions by diasporans constitute the single most crucial backbone to the socioeconomic vitality and viability of Ghana. Our people are used to the horrifying status quo and the status quo has never worked. Listen to these folks. It is not normal that you can barely accomplish a productive activity in a day due to traffic and the other chaos. A country serious about developing should have a foundation of structure and discipline. There is no way around that.
Ayyye!! Toronto girls in the house! 🇬🇭🇨🇦🤍. All I can say is WOW, this interview was just soo well conducted. So proud of all you ladies for continuing to make an impact and shifting the narrative of how beautiful and capable Ghana is! Can't wait to be there this year and add some more value to my country and the Ghanaian economy 🙌🏾
"Ghana is not a graveyard" ...THIS!!!!! So impressed and proud of these women for taking the leap of faith. Denta thank you so much for always bringing us the best, particularly bringing BLACK GIRL MAGIC to the show. I love that you always portray the strength of BLACK WOMEN, changing the narrative of us around the globe. LOVE YOU DENTA!!!!
Our parents left as economic refugees. Now we have the likes of Nana Kwame Bediako and Kojo Jones here as returnees. They show possibilities our parents never saw or can’t conceive. Our parents could have never dreamed up the Ayi Mensah communities or even the Cantoments of today. They could have never imagined the tech companies raising millions of dollars in New York. Think of Bolt. So it’s important we understand their limits and how far their imaginations were. What’s more, to our parents, being a second third class citizen in the west is ok. Even slavery for them was better than their village in Ghana. We’re very different people we should be careful listening to them or we risk creating a Ghana just like the one they run from. The returnees should be more advanced, should have better solutions to issues. The returnees May return with a just a phone in their pocket with a billion dollar idea(tech idea). Let’s not have them tell us what the problems are. We are problem solvers. We work in spaces in the west where we sit at the tables as everyone else. Something our parents could not have imagined. We’re not the same people.
Am very excited to see so many of our girls moving back to Ghana 🇬🇭 even we the parents are reluctant to. You girls are making me so proud keep it up and you'll all succeed. May God bless and guide your ways 🙏 🙏 🙏
I was wondering if the high ranking officials like the parliamentarians are watching this because this is the time to tap into the great minds of these young individuals. Our problem has Ghanaians is that we think you can only do well in certain positions if you are old, that’s a cultural thing and they need to move away from it. “Empower the youth”.
So glad to hear how much you're enjoying your new home Abena! It is Canada's loss, but I'm so glad you're making a wonderful life for yourself there! Very interesting discussion!
The seasonal affective disorder is so real. The blues winter bring...SAD Dentaa I am working on my move. As a nurse, you need to find me some connections. But keep those videos coming sis. We appreciate and are soaking it in.
@@ODANANETWORK I hope so! Left 94 and I wasn't fortunate enough to get a parent who encouraged visitation in my youthful years and when I wanted to do fear of rejection just took over and couldn't push hard enough to come on my own ... I've always wanted to return in one capacity to make a difference. The urge is greater now...but you spearheaded ladies are telling me to plan, prepare and be ready.... working on it.
I left Nigeria in 1981 and return for the first time in 2010 after being away continuously in US 25 years. To answer the question why we have negative view of homeland like Ghana or Nigeria. We felt likewe escaped hell. The media did not help matters and family members always encouraged us to stay away. However now at 63 getting ready to retire from work, I literarily have a pull to go home that people do not understand. I have zero interest in living anywhere but Nigeria. At 22 I thought I escaped hell, but at 63 hell is anywhere outside of Nigeria.
I understand you entirely. My mother brought my siblings and me to the US, from Jamaica when I was 12. My siblings and I have always wanted to return but the urge to go back has grown stronger as we have grown older. I am in my early 60's also and feel that the light has dimmed on many western countries and retiring in one of them does not make me feel confident for the future generations that I may leave behind. I really pray and hope fortune will shine on us and that we find the place of our dreams to retire to in the coming years. PS. My older sister even thinks Ghana may be a choice to pursue.
Also, people from the diaspora must also know that Ghanaians are smart and that is why we are able to survive anywhere in this world. When you come to Ghana with your big ideas of moving the country forward, learn from those that are already in Ghana. Adapt and learn and see how you can utilize ideas. Don’t come with the attitude “I know it all”
Respectfully, I think Ghanaians should eat a little humble pie because we were classified as a developing nation when Singapore was a Third World Country, yet they have surpassed Ghana on so many levels. I agree Ghanaians are smart but most of them use their intelligence for corruption, deception of their fellow Ghanaians and family members in the diaspora. On a personally note I've been coming back and forth to GH for over a decade and my observations in my travels to Ghana are that, I come across mostly proud degree holders who refuse to get their hands dirty to do jobs like plumbing, electrical work, carpentry or any other skilled manual labor, for the desire of a cushy office job. Meanwhile, the extremely poor, undereducated class have dreams of escaping Ghana to move abroad seeking opportunities to change their current circumstances with some even dying in their attempts. Ghana needs visionaries, structure, organizers, some planning and ways to develop jobs to retain it's youth. There is nothing wrong with some critical counseling for leaders in politics and varies industries to truly develop our country and raise our world status, instead of consistently looking for foreign aid. Smart is having the foresight to see that what we are not advancing enough to compete on the world stage and are drowning in stagnation. Therefore we need to rethink our strategy. This is where the highly educated enthusiastic professional diasporian children of Ghana (Whom have come to appreciate Ghana's potential) who are willing to offer their wisdom, skill set, professional experiences etc... come into play. How do you think America became the great nation that it is, along with innovate Americans, they offer visas and citizenship to highly trained and educated professionals from other nations.
Thank you ladies. I really appreciate the conversation. Thank you Denta, great content. Dentaa when will you invite single men from the diaspora who came back to Ghana? It will be interesting to hear from them. Thank you and God bless you Dentaa.

As always Lady Dentaa, you and the Ladies, delivered on another Sunday, while I'm sitting in BC, in April and it's snowing outside, briefly, but still snowflakes! April! Lots of love always for the Ghanaian Canadians!

Africa still remains the biggest opportunity zone for the African. Only thing missing is the education to make people understand. Our biggest businesses owned by Africans is still there, our top musicians, our businessmen and all our top creatives still remain on the continent. So it makes sense many want to go and tap into this abundance.
I am a Ghanaian based in the uk,but ask your self if your parents had not come over to make a better life for them self and you guys.will you have had this platform if you were born and grew up in Ghana.it was for a better life and clearly you guys have benefited.
please can we have those ladies, Abenaa and Eve TH-cam channel details, I just love their compassion and determination attitude, absolutely inspired 🙌🇬🇧🇬🇭
Thank you ladies for sharing such inspiration words...we are proud of you... especially the last advice from sister Abena...she say Like Dubai is built on desert... Ghana is doing same... and we all have to come together and start doing something now...so we don't regret ourselves.. And that word is something I have been saying for long time... Ghana is on the move...no matter how you think...as Sister Abena again say, over there door is build on one day but in Ghana it will take one month....so it is the matter of time and patient.. We from the Diaspora have to educate our brothers and sisters back home what we learn over there, so they also get the boldness and be on their own and not depending on someone for a living.
A great interview with views, thoughts, opinions & laughs which many can relate to. Many nuggets of wisdom and experience on tap here. Definitely take heed. Well done @Dentaa 😍🤩😂
You go and fit into somebody's system they built with their blood and sweat. Nation building is sweat and blood and sacrifice and diligence and discipline and honesty. The vast majority of our people won't sign on for that and we're suffering for it. Let's strap our boots up. Everything will work eventually.
Loved it being from Toronto and moving home it’s so true what they said we love to compare the prices and that’s where your money will finish fast! Also the fact that … the winter is harsh you go out it’s dark you come home it’s dark! I cannot wait to see the next chapter for these ladies! I love them both! I have followed them from their beginnings till now and can honestly say they are making it! Ghana to the world! Def tell everyone to invest now before it’s too late!
I love my motherland ghana to bits, i came back to London on the 6th March and going back to the sunshine by the middle of October and will be coming back only to do business of buying and selling, because Ghana is heaven on earth, my favourite is coconut and suya ,cant wait to go back, you have people to talk to and nothing like bills bills bills to pay ❤
I'm finding these interviews so interesting even though I'm feeling my age is a deterrent I wish I could have found the interest in Africa when I was younger.
Well I think to the opposite is true, I presume you are retired or getting close to retirement and with that study income you can live like a queen in Ghana. Just to let know I'm 50+ living in US and about to start my business in Ghana later part of the year.
sometimes i feel the same..however there is definately advantages for older folks i wish i was closer to retirement. however i have started investing in Ghana and will move fulltime later.
@@lesliecodjoe4764 That's wonderful to hear but I'm 75 and concerned that if something were to happen to me I can't depend on anyone. That's what keeps me here.
Awesome awesome interview I dreamt of living in Ghana one day, but I’m too old now 60 and retired to make the move to Ghana. I absolutely love what you ladies and the diaspora is willing to do and bring Ghana into the future. Bravo 👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾
You are too young to despair. Barring financial problems, you can still make the move. You can build a one bedroom or two bedroom apartment on the outskirts of Accra with 20 or 30 thousand dollars.
Chale...I spent my money on rent and finishing my home. That 0 to 100 is REAL. Thank God for that first contract 🙏🏿. 10 months in Ghana, I couldn't be happier, my children are content. I found awesome hiking boots at Kantamato! Another insightful and honest dialog. 👏🏾
The individual experience that influenced immigration to developed countries forms the ideas that are fed into immigrant kids especially if the developed country created a better lifestyle to the immigrant than what he had previously in his or her home country.
The more simplistic you live, the better your experience will be, I’d think. Work your way up, year by year. Be savvy about how you store up emergency 💦 I agree be spiritually prepared. Follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit and Keep God’s Commandments. 🙌🏾😇💕🕊
Great interview, not sure why TH-cam keeps recommending your channel. What I would say to our Canadian sisters is not to abandon Canada you have all the rights to thrive in both places it is yours for the taking, it's all about having the right attitude and mindset. And don't compomise, mediocrity is mediocrity call it out and demand the best in your space, yes respect the culture but don't lower your standards.
The average Ghanaian lives on less than $5 Canadian a day. I believe the average well-living semi private school going kids family lives on $30-40 Canadian a day. Based on this, the average returnee should do very well if they learn the economics that make these possible quickly. That’s the only challenge.
People in Ghana are living healthy . Good health care is in Ghana as well all that is needed is money to boost it up . Don’t always think health care is bad in Ghana 🇬🇭
Are people so sick that they are so worried about health care, you can die anywhere even when you’ve received good care, also some health issues are emergency and before you think of booking a flight to UK you’ll already be dead. People should be more invested in staying healthy through food and exercise
Ghana is always being a better place, if you dwell among the right people. Also saying that, there is a perception that , whenever diasporians trying to set up business in the continent, the tax man throw the book at them, but cut corners if it comes to the home guys, which isn't fair, even buying raw materials and hiring workers for your property, they always charge you double the price , if they found out you live overseas. When is this going to change?
You’re not seeing the murder and oppression we’re experiencing in these places of our captivity. We would rather start from the bottom and work our way up in Ghana than sit over here and watch our people being slaughtered. 🤷🏽♀️
That is what this channel is trying to preach.. But you cannot convert everyone .. The ones that get it, get it.. People who don’t, will forever find problems and reasons… couple to the fact that our leaders have let us down immensely, no body will fix GHANA for us.. in fixing the Continent, we build legacies for the future GENERATIONs..
Yeah in another 1000 years. Grow up you think reaching 1st world status happens overnight? You can romanticize things all you want but realistically its a whole different ball game. And changing this country doesn't rest in the hands of some leader.

It is beautiful to see this people home Ghana is your home come and less big our country...... Ghana miss you all come home and you will be (safe ) 🙏❤
Private hospitals with specialized doctors are moving in.
Very entertaining. The location is amazing. Dentaa, this needs to be your studio for interviews. Absolutely, stunning.
I am a Ghanaian based in the uk,but ask your self if your parents had not come over to make a better life for them self and you guys.will you have had this platform if you were born and grew up in Ghana.it was for a better life and clearly you guys have benefited.

Here you go - th-cam.com/users/EvesEye
It's a waste of time, they won't listen till we move back.
Those homes look beautiful, however, they lack green spaces. The developer needs to plant more trees and green spaces/parks.
32:35 Eeiii this confidence thing is something ooh! 😀
Thank you for watching and sharing
A great interview with views, thoughts, opinions & laughs which many can relate to. Many nuggets of wisdom and experience on tap here. Definitely take heed. Well done @Dentaa 😍🤩😂
Thank you so much.
Absolutely!!

Wow God bless you ladies, Ghana is Paradise, well said 🙏🏼🙏🏼👍🏼

I'm finding these interviews so interesting even though I'm feeling my age is a deterrent I wish I could have found the interest in Africa when I was younger.
Well I think to the opposite is true, I presume you are retired or getting close to retirement and with that study income you can live like a queen in Ghana. Just to let know I'm 50+ living in US and about to start my business in Ghana later part of the year.
sometimes i feel the same..however there is definately advantages for older folks i wish i was closer to retirement. however i have started investing in Ghana and will move fulltime later.
@@111pp7 Best of luck and nothing but good wishes
@@lesliecodjoe4764 That's wonderful to hear but I'm 75 and concerned that if something were to happen to me I can't depend on anyone. That's what keeps me here.

Exquisite background!!!that view is crazy!!

I realy like this ashanti girl she been real
Your fashion is excellent
Aww thank you
Great young women.
Thank you for watching and sharing
Chale...I spent my money on rent and finishing my home. That 0 to 100 is REAL. Thank God for that first contract 🙏🏿. 10 months in Ghana, I couldn't be happier, my children are content.
I found awesome hiking boots at Kantamato!
Another insightful and honest dialog. 👏🏾

Interesting view of points. Health care is not cheap in Ghana and you know when have immense privilege when you can finance going abroad fore care

The individual experience that influenced immigration to developed countries forms the ideas that are fed into immigrant kids especially if the developed country created a better lifestyle to the immigrant than what he had previously in his or her home country.
Loved this!
Thank you. Please share
The more simplistic you live, the better your experience will be, I’d think. Work your way up, year by year. Be savvy about how you store up emergency 💦 I agree be spiritually prepared. Follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit and Keep God’s Commandments. 🙌🏾😇💕🕊
Sister the food choice questions were tricky for me. Because all the ones the guests named were great 👍
Thank you
Great 👍
Great interview, not sure why TH-cam keeps recommending your channel.

Good show as always, Dentaa. Did Abena say she has a youtube channel, and what is the name please?

Good healthcare SA,Namibia,Botswana,Kenya,Mauritius,etc!!!
Awesome
People in Ghana are living healthy . Good health care is in Ghana as well all that is needed is money to boost it up . Don’t always think health care is bad in Ghana 🇬🇭
Are people so sick that they are so worried about health care, you can die anywhere even when you’ve received good care, also some health issues are emergency and before you think of booking a flight to UK you’ll already be dead. People should be more invested in staying healthy through food and exercise
I love this ✊✊🥰🥰
Thank you
This is hot my beautiful sister’s. Africa is the future Mach love
Yes yez
WE MUST ADJUST TO OUR ENVIRONMENT......
Great interview, I Like their positivity
Thank you
For impact, I think y'all can help train people with customer service, let's make customer service a big deal and let's do it in love
"Places of our captivity"
I'm so stealing this phrase.
Ghana is one leader away from being a first world country. Get in before is too late. The west makes you comfortable but not much freedom.
Great video. I enjoyed the conversation from these young ladies who returned to Ghana.
Thank you for watching and sharing
Good job
