Such a lovely story you shared of your grandmother and how you were inspired by her. She may not be with you physically anymore, but clearly, her spirit lives on in you. She would be so proud! Looking forward to watching and learning through your videos.

Good morning Emma! Following random Pinterest links has this morning brought me to your videos and I am thrilled I stuck with the path to your channel. I have crafted in one way or another for as long as I can remember. In my early twenties I discovered patchwork and what I now know to be English Paper Piecing. I played with hexagons for a while and then put papers, needles and fabric scraps away to concentrate on "bringing up baby". Fast forward fifty years (and it does seem to have gone quickly) and here I am, thanking you for bring me home. Your introductory video is a delight and I am sure your Grandma is stitching with golden threads and looking admiringly down at her beloved Granddaughter and pupil. Thank you so much for taking the brave steps it requires to entertain the You Tube masses and for all the inspiration I shall gain from your numerous, wonderful videos. Keep stitching and creating dear lady, you are a shining star. Bless you for sharing. Marion, North Somerset, UK.
Hi, Emma. You are doing very well in front of the camera. I like so much the sound of your voice, I am an old Norwegian lady and your diction is so much better than other englishspeaking quilters I follow.
I have been following your channel for over a year and just got around to watching this video. I Love your Gran's Garden Quilt that is in the frame! It is BEAUTIFUL!! That is something that I want to make and hang, I just need to find my inspiration. You are very much an Artist!! Beautiful designer and creator!! I love your videos and tutorials

Hi Leelsabeth, firstly, thank you so much for watching and leaving me the most beautiful comment. Your words have really touched my heart, on a day when I was letting doubt creep in about my work, so thank you. I am so sorry you lost your grandmother too. She sounds like an incredibly inspiring person and how lovely that she left her artworks for you and her other grandchildren. She has passed her creativity onto you, and you will definitely make beautiful items I am sure. It's lovely to hear you've just started to learn to quilt, I'd love to see what you make if you do make something like this one day, always feel free to send me an email with photos, only if you want to though. Hi Emma How lovely to finally meet you. I’m a new subscriber and I came over to you from Ellie from craft house magic, after seeing her making your beautiful sewing hexagon case, which I’m in the middle of making. I will definitely be taking part in your mini quilt along I’m pretty new to hand sewing so it’s going to be a bit of a challenge for me, but I’m going to give it a go. WOW! The picture of your grandmother's garden is so fabulous. I am so impressed. What a wonderful memory for you. I love EPP as it is so versatile and creative. Thank you for sharing this memory of your gran. I have done a lot of EPP but never thought to embroider on it. I show what I have done at craft fairs and some people have never heard of it (in the US) but it is growing more popular year by year.
Hi Susan, thank you for such a lovely comment, it made my day. Lovely to know you are a fellow EPP enthusiast, it’s such a great craft isn’t it. Take care and thank you again 🌸😊
Eeeeee I’m sooo excited to have found your wonderful channel‼️‼️‼️ The projects, the fabrics, your voice, your clear information, you 💯 ALL TOTALLY SUPERB 💖 I’m away to sort out some fabric to follow along, thank you sooo much for sharing your beautiful art.
Dear Emma...thank you for the inspiration . I enjoy watching you because you are so real and just yourself. I'm busy right now making the tiny hexi flowers from liberty fabric. I'm loving cutting those little pieces from the scraps of a large libery epp quilt I made recently. I've made many epp quilts through the years and its lovely to get new ideas.
Hi Marche, thank you for such a lovely comment. It's so lovely to hear you are making tiny hexie flowers from your liberty scraps, it's such a lovely thing to do, I hope you are enjoying it. Take care and thanks again

Emma, I certainly hope you have changed your opinion of your beautiful creations. You most definitely are an artist! The pieces you make are so lovely!!! Thank you so much for sharing your designs and love of needlework.
Very pretty piece of handwork! Will be fun to do a rural western Oregon version. My maternal grandparents were from England and retired in the small village of Formby near Liverpool in the 1930's.
Hi Cynthia, thank you for your lovely message. You won’t believe this, but Formby is so close to where I live! It’s one of my favourite places, I go all the time and my husband even proposed to me on the beach there! It’s a small world isn’t it!x x

Hello Emma how lovely to see you face to face it really makes a difference, you have a lovely face if you don’t mind me saying. I am so pleased that you talked about your personal journey with EPP. I really understand the essence of meaning behind your work. I make little bits and pieces, I am not the best sewer but everything I make has meaning stitched into each piece, it really brings pleasure to give gifts specially made with a particular person in mind. Your lovely Gran’s piece is simply stunning and what a glorious tribute to her, wherever she is I am sure she is bursting with pride. I absolutely love your mini quilt it is so inspiring as you are Emma and I am really looking forward to any tutorials on this. I managed to get the jewel template from the U.K. firm you suggested. At present I am covering a diary for my lovely daughter in law and I want to try out the butterfly. Have you thought about a patreon system, I would gladly join. I do hope you eventually run some workshops. Thank you Emma for sharing with us all, you are greatly appreciated. Don’t feel pressured to do too much, tiny steps first. Big hugs and loves xxxxxx 😘🙋🏻🌟💐 Dorothy

I saw your post on instagram, and am not very good with instagram so I came over here to watch your video. Loved the story of your gran and the thinking behind your quilt. How lovely to remember her is such a way. I'm sure she would be super proud of you. I made a needle case from your free pattern it's on my instagram (ellyp49) and would love to have a go at the 'mini quilt'....so look forward to beginning it....thanks Emma for such great vids...big hugs ❤️😁
Hi! That’s so much for leaving me such a lovely comment. I’m so glad you liked hearing the story behind my quilt. It’s lovely that you are encouraging your grandchildren to craft, I do hope more of the younger generations take it up so the skills aren’t lost. Thanks so much for trying out my pattern, I’m off to have a look at your Instagram now to see 😊🌸
So lovely to 'meet' you, I really enjoyed hearing your sewing story, one of my memories is playing in my grannie's button tin. Excited to join in will definitely have a try of the hexiforms as taking the cardboard ones out was always my least favourite bit. Crafty hugs

@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox I will, but don't be holding your breath - I have just received the wadding for my little hexie lap quilt, so have some hand quilting to do first. All your tips for that have been so helpful too, as I really didn't know what kind of thread to buy, but your advice gave me confidence I was purchasing a suitable weight of thread. Thank you for that too. 🥰
Hi Emma! Lovely to finally see your face 🙂❤ I am new to EPP and have been watching your videos to get me started. I'm trying to find some ditsy print material now so that I can start! 😀 Love your projects, they are beautiful. 💖💖

What a beautiful quilt and beautiful framed in memory of you gran you do beautiful work now you have inspired me when you use paper templates how do you get the paper out when you use the dabs of glue 😀😀🇨🇦
Thanks so much! The paper comes out so easily if you don't use too much glue. I find that giving it a press with the iron makes it even easier as it seems to loosen the glue

Hi Jeanette, thank you for finding me, as I’ve now found your lovely channel and subscribed. I can’t wait to see your hexagon case, I’ve seen your progress on IG and it’s beautiful! Have a great day and thank you for your lovely message x x
Emma, your work is beautiful!! You are an artist!!!

Hi Dorothy, thank you so much for such a lovely comment, I really appreciate every word, you are so so kind. The project you are working on sounds lovely, I’m so glad you are going to try the butterfly and that you got the jewel shapes, I hope you love making it. It’s incredibly kind of you to offer to support me on Patreon, thank you so much. I haven’t got anything like that set up at the moment but maybe one day, we will see where this journey takes me! I really appreciate your support here on TH-cam, it’s so lovely to have you here. Take care and I hope you enjoy your sewing time x x😊🌸

aww thank you! What a lovely comment, I hope you enjoy making them
I saw your post on instagram, and am not very good with instagram so I came over here to watch your video. Loved the story of your gran and the thinking behind your quilt. How lovely to remember her is such a way. I'm sure she would be super proud of you. Being a grandmother myself, I try to encourage my own grandchildren in to the world of 'crafting', whether it be knitting/sewing and crochet.
Crafty hugs
Hi! Thanks so much for your lovely comment and for sharing your memory with me. I’m so glad you want to join in too, the hexiform is great, you’ll love it. Have a lovely day x x
Lovely to see you well done for having the courage... look forward to all the future videos. Very enjoyable thank you x
Aww thank you Pam, I really appreciate your support and encouragement 😊🌸x
I don't know how I missed this sampler.... Perhaps I hadn't yet subscribed at the time you made these videos? Not sure. Anyhow... I have just downloaded the pattern for this and am looking forward very much to making it. Your framed garden mini quilt is absolutely gorgeous and the back story was very touching. Thank you so much for sharing so many beautiful things❤❤❤
Aww thank you! I’m so excited you are going to make one too. Let me know how you get on 🤗
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox I will, but don't be holding your breath - I have just received the wadding for my little hexie lap quilt, so have some hand quilting to do first. All your tips for that have been so helpful too, as I really didn't know what kind of thread to buy, but your advice gave me confidence I was purchasing a suitable weight of thread. Thank you for that too. 🥰
You are an inspiration! 🌻🌻🌻
Wow, thank you! That’s so kind
Lovely~
Hi Emma! Lovely to finally see your face 🙂❤ I am new to EPP and have been watching your videos to get me started. I'm trying to find some ditsy print material now so that I can start! 😀 Love your projects, they are beautiful. 💖💖
Hi Clare! How exciting that you are starting your EPP journey! Looking for fabric is such a fun part of the process. Thanks so much for your comment and support, happy fabric shopping!😊🌸
Stunning quilt xx
Thank you, I really enjoyed making this
So nice love your story..
aww thank you!
Beautiful quilts! Thank you for sharing!
Aww thanks so much!😊🌸
Love your videos! LOVE EPP and can't get enough of it! Wish you cared the Hexi-form sheets in your shop and not just the pre-cut shapes....
Thank you so much Shannon! Such kind words. Ashmead Designs sell the sheets on their website but I will definitely look to stock them in the future 😊
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox Not sure if the Ashmead site ships to the U.S. or not....
I to have fond memories of sewing with my Grandmother.
I have been looking for the video for the house applique you did on the sewing book. I've got the pattern for the sewing box in my cart, waiting for payday
Hi Susan, it's in the free pattern page on my website, under mini quilts and it's in the Seasonal Sampler section. Thank you
What a beautiful quilt and beautiful framed in memory of you gran you do beautiful work now you have inspired me when you use paper templates how do you get the paper out when you use the dabs of glue 😀😀🇨🇦
Thanks so much! The paper comes out so easily if you don't use too much glue. I find that giving it a press with the iron makes it even easier as it seems to loosen the glue
❤
😍
You are such a beautiful woman Emma! Thank you for sharing!
Aww that’s so kind, thank you
Emma I loved your grandmother's garden quilt, and what a brilliant idea to frame it so it's always on show and not just put away in a draw. I would like to try to make one. Thankyou for sharing your inspirational wonderful talent with us. It's been a pleasure to watch your video, I'm going to try and binge watch some more now I've found you. Emma, you and your little boy stay safe and happy xx (I've subscribed ) oh by the way where was the art gallery /cafe location? Hinckley ??? 💖
Ahh thank you Jackie, that’s such a lovely thing to say! If you want to make one, I’ve put a free pattern for it on my website. It’s just a brief pattern. The gallery was in Ormskirk in Lancashire 😊
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox Thankyou Emma, I will have a look for the pattern xx
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox I've downloaded your beautiful pattern, I'd like to try the no paper shapes but was wondering what size you used and how many should I buy. Thankyou Emma you're a star 🌟💖
@@jackierudd2010 fabulous! Off the top of my head, I think you need 108 hexagons that are 1/2 inch but it should say in the pattern. I am out of stock of them at the moment unfortunately, but Ashmead Designs will have them. They are so good because they are left in and it makes it really easy to do 😊
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox I'm going to order some and make a start, you have inspired me with your lovely work Emma. Thanks 😊
Hi Emma
I have just found your lovely channel. I am not sure what part of the UK you are in, but you might be interested in visiting the Textiles East Fair in Swavesey near Cambridge. It strongly encourages new talents. Love your videos.💟
Hi Claire, thank you so much for watching and for suggesting that textile fair. I’m in northern England but I’m not adverse to travelling around for things to do with quilting and sewing, I’d love to check out that fair. Thanks so much, take care x x
