What is your favorite memory of the BWCA?
The bug bites I'm still scratching from my trip 3 years ago. Be prepared for the most mosquitoes you've ever experienced. 😂
Wolves howling close to our camp on EP66-Crocodile Lake this last early June
In 1983 we stopped at "The Root Beer Lady's" island and had a cold root beer, candy bar and signed her guest book. She was very kind and a great memory of my times in the BWCA!
@@TigerMusky56 sounds incredible!
I love it up there.
It’s the best!
Adding this route to the checklist of routes to try :) Thanks for sharing!
Awesome! It’s a great route.
Nice Video, looks like a well-planned trip. I've been coming up to the Ely area for years, but haven't ventured into the BWCA for a long time. My best day ever was a day trip into Pipestone Bay though Fall Lake. We killed the walleyes that day. We were 2 fish or so short of our limit but all of our Walleyes were between 2 and 4 lbs with the biggest being just over 4lbs. I always enjoyed the portage around Pipestone Falls even going up Heart Attack Hill coming out.
Great memories to be had on basswood lake for sure!
Great video. 👍
Thank you!
Nice video. We caught some walleye there early spring across the bay this year. That’s an awesome camp site
Amazing campsite for sure!
what do the walleyes like up there?
Tgeres some good fishing in splash before the weeds come up.
I believe it!
What lure setup were you using on that last fishing day? Spinner rig?
Yes, just a crawler harness!
How much ice do you bring,? And is that cooking grate at a designated camp site
I don’t bring any ice! In the past I have frozen some plastic water bottles to keep bait cool if it’s warm out. The grates are at every designated site!
How many yrs u been goin to bwca ? How many a season ? How fars your drive to bwca
Probably 15 years! 1-3 a season with only an hour and a half drive!
what do walleyes like up there?
Jigs and crawlers/leeches/plastics work well
Show us how to clean the fish please
I will make a video!
@@ReelNorthOutdoors thank you
The official BWCAW dorky hat, that EVERYONE thinks they have to wear.
Wow I know that guy 😮
Heck yeah!
SO DO I I KNOW U MR.JOE AND MS.NELSON!!!
Why don’t you keep the fish to cok
Some we do! Lots we throw back.
Omg! A doe? A deer? A female deer?
With all the walleyes in the water why would you eat bass? I see alot of people eating small mouth. Let em go let em grow. All you need is a jig and a worm....
Didn’t get into the walleyes until the day after the fish fry otherwise we would have!
Ain't nothing wrong with eating smallmouth man. There's plenty of them and there's lots of those 13" fish that are begging for the fry pan. You CAN eat more than just walleyes in the park I eat bass, pike, brookies, walleyes, lakers, whitefish in fall, and suckers in spring. They all taste like fish with the exception of the char species.
@eduffy4937 to each their own. I've fished all over Canada, Minnesota. Most people eat walleye unless of course you couldn't locate them. If I wanted to eat mush I could go buy some talipia. You keep eating all the others, leaves more walleye for me!!
don’t know how to filet
I’ll have to make a fillet video!
You lost me at the word tow.
Whats wrong with a tow?
@@kennyd2134it's just superiority thing from the patagonia crowd.
It's a 25 mile paddle to The boundary Waters so you need to get a tow
Save's time if your limited also.
