The bit that really got me in this episode was Wille hugging the headmistress. I think that was the only adult hug he'd had since losing everything, his brother, his new love, his future and his freedom. It broke me. Such amazing acting from Edvin Rydding
Couldn't agree more. We have seen it a few times already. He just wants to be held. Also agreed on the acting. The cast is incredible 👏 Thank you for watching 🫶
Fun fact: the football field scene was completely improvised by Edvin Ryding. He and Omar were given a lot of latitude to add their own ideas in many scenes. Enjoy the explosiveness of YR. It’s a wonderful series. ♥️👑
On Erik’s age, the oldest he could’ve been is only just 21. He was at Hillerska with August and, assuming he was a third year when August was a first year, he’d be two years older than August and four years older than Wille. In summary, he was *young.*
@@therainbowreels You’re welcome, I’ve been really enjoying your YR reactions. - - Also, different topic but, in relation to Sara and her autism (I just want to mention this because you guys, like most people, seem like you don’t know very much about autism) a few main ways it affects her just to keep in mind: • “Reading the room” - as you saw in episode 3, Sara isn’t very good at reading the room and knowing how much to say, so she tends to default to being very bluntly honest. • She seems to really struggle with picking up on sarcasm (for example, her taking Felice’s “Yeah, because they’re gonna be so dirty after 5 minutes of riding” completely seriously) • Black & White/Rigid Thinking - she seems to think in a very black and white way, for example, she seems to view most people as being either good or bad, and there’s very little in between (I think Simon and Linda may be the only people in the in between?) • Differentiating between levels of secrets (I can’t elaborate on this without spoilers, sorry). (If anyone else has anything they wanna add, please do)
The football field and the cuddling/making out scenes in Wille’s room are iconic. A very interesting point is the curtains not being drawn in Wille’s room. Being on the ground floor AND the crown Prince’s room, these curtains should definitely have been drawn. OTOH it’s unlikely that security detail or house persons would change anything in Wilhelm’s room. He must feel and be *sure* that his privacy is respected - unless it presents a security risk (how would you feel to find out that things are not how you left them when you last left your bedroom ? It should be known that in northern countries (say, Germany and up), windows are left open almost all day (and night) even in cold weather. Wilhelm left his room through the window and could not have drawn the curtains from the outside. Also, he had probably left the window unlocked for his eventual re-entry. And of course the boys had other concerns when the got back in….
Both such genuine scenes/moments, but the latter ruined by August. Them not closing the curtains was such an oversight 😩 But it's also a nice detail, and shows how naive they are. Bless them. Thanks for watching 🫶
He deleted the contact, but then it would just be an unidentified number in his call log. He still knows whose number that is; he could hit redial from there.
Re: we can no longer text/ break up - I think Wille deliberately chose a mean approach. He needed Simon to be angry because, deep down, he knew he did not have the willpower to stay away from Simon. Choosing a softer, more diplomatic route would complicate things further. It would make it harder for him to bring closure to the situation. It was almost as if being direct and, perhaps, even causing a bit of friction was Wille’s way of asserting control over something that he sees as inevitably ending anyway. He also had to avoid eye contact, as looking at each other would have opened a door to negotiations and discussions about finding a middle ground. Looking at Simon might have been akin to acknowledging the complexity of their relationship, something neither of them is ready for or can face head-on ( they are babies). If they had a civil conversation, it would have potentially led to a compromise, an agreement that they could remain friends ( and Wille knows that is not possible ). Also, based on Mama’s "no more mistake warning" and not wanting to let Eric down, Wille just had to make it as swift and clean as possible...he also had to make it so Simon stays away from him because he knows he can't stay away from Simon
I wondered about locking the door too. It seems like none of the doors have locks to me. Maybe a safety precaution since they are children and the school is responsible for their care? Even when someone knocks, they either say come in, or go answer the door -but they never seem to have to unlock it first.
@@therainbowreels To be honest I like your reactions best as you are two European adults. Adult introspective talk and when talking about sexuality no giggles. ( Did you mention docking in your video, though😄)
I thought August was manipulating Sara partly to get access to her medication for ADHD & ASD as well? She's on the autism spectrum, and it's assumed her character doesn't understand normal social cues/manners, so it's even worse when August takes advantage of this.
@@therainbowreelsHe does. Felice told him in ep 2, when she invited Simon and Sara to the movie night. My theory is that August kissed Sara because he was jealous, thinking Felice was with Wille. Kissing her probably felt like some sort of payback. And since he is very insecure deep down, it also made him feel more assertive and in control of the situation.

RE SECURITY - I think Malin Willie's personal guard ... is very much aware of what's going on but I think they ( her and the driver ) understand that he is 16 and being at school is the closest thing he will have to a normal life before being confirmed as crown prince so they allow him some freedom ... besides they guarded Eric before I am sure he was a handful Willie is probably tame by comparison I LOVE HOW INVESTED YOU GUYS ARE
Aww, now we like Malin even more. + she got rid of August very elegantly. We are feeling for Wille 🥲 Poor boy. And him losing his brother on top of it all... The pressure must be huge. Thanks for watching 🫶
But watch Sara's final reaction to the kiss. Sara being on the autism spectrum means she doesn't react the way anyone else would. Keep track of the way Sara reacts to her interactions with people. They will become important as the story unfolds. How does her past influence how she will act in the future.

Very fair observation, and it is so true if we think about it further. Obviously, it didn't last long, as we know. 🤣

It makes sense that doors can't be locked. August is obviously walking into every room unannounced like he owns the place. 🤣
