Then he got no warning from Wille at all. It would feel like a betrayal and that Wille abandoned him to go through this alone.
I think what truly breaks my heart is, Simon might’ve been fine with him denying the video if Wilhelm had just been honest with him and told him he had to deny it as soon as he knew that that was what was going to happen.
Wilhelm was hoping that after he spoke to his mum he wouldn't had to do the interview and keep his word to Simon, but his mum got into his head and led him to say it wasn't him. He couldn't prepare Simon, he didn't want to say anything 😢

Totally agree. It's just at 16, royal, still discovering himself, now exposed to the world it's a lot. He took his mother's guidance, which was wrong. But he learned from that and he didn't make the same mistake. We all make mistakes It's what we do after that, that defines us. I hope that makes sense ❤

An answer to your“why does she think she’s a burden to them?” - When people treat you like they always need to take care of you, or like you wouldn’t cope on your own, etc. *you internalise it* and you start to feel like you *are* a burden because people keep needing to go out of their way to take care of you which, I’ll be completely honest, *sucks.* (Truly, Sara is my beloved girl who I love dearly, she makes *plenty* of mistakes but she’s human, and I love that you can see that so clearly).
Oh, 100%, nobody is perfect, and everybody makes mistakes. In fact, we don't learn if we don't make mistakes. We hope her and Simon won't drift apart 🥺 🫶
And also, Simon is at this school to help and protect Sara. From all the conversations they have, I understand that Sara had a rough time at the previous school. And lets not forget that the reason Simon stole/ sold the drugs was in a misguided attempt to help Sara make friends and have more fun in school.
Honestly, when he buys the magazine in absolutely shatters my heart every time, like, imagine being 16 years old and reading through a magazine trying to figure out what these people know about you and whether your (unimaginably messed up) secret is still safe… (Just to say, Simon’s secret isn’t textually mentioned in seasons 1 or 2, but instead buried very deep in the subtext waiting to be revealed in season 3. Also, if you want to know more about Simon’s secret, tvmicroscope’s Substack has some super interesting stuff that digs into the metaphors and symbolism, mirrors and allegories, etc. in Young Royals).

I will never understand why people get so upset at Whillam for making a decision he was forced to make, he's just a kid with a 40 year old persons responsibility. If I was in his position at that age going against the whole society I would be scared to.
We are more upset with his mother than we are with him, to be honest. But even she is caught up in the traditions and obligations of the crown. Having said that, when she said that she had a hopeless romance once, we did think that now is the chance for change. But then again, easier said than done. Thank you for watching 🫶

Sara's betrayal was such a left turn for me and while i hated to experience it i 100% understand why she would choose to do that. the argument with simon is a really important moment for both of them. both simon and sara deal a lot with rejection, but while simon has a lot of security in who he is, sara projects a lot onto the hillerska girls.
I just want to point out that the actor who plays prince willhelm said that his character is unlabeled. So neither gay or bi. He says he likes then fluidity of wilhelm. Side note: Love ur reactions! ❤

You should pause the video when you talk so you don’t miss important lines like I love you 😄. I think in reality it would be a bigger exposer of Simon if Wilhelm would have said that it was him in the video due to him beeing such an public figure. I do however wish Wilhelm would have called Simon and told him what he was going to say during the interview. Sarah is almost right up there with August not my favorite person right now 😔. How could she not tell her brother that it was August? Beeing among the rich friends at school seems to mean more to her than her brothers wellbeeing. She sees how heartbroken he is. I love season 2 but it took me a few episodes to start to like it as much as season 1 due to a specific person 😏. You will see. Wilhelm breaking the fourth wall in the begining and end of every season, it is the shows signature 👑💜.

I agree to some extent that the things Sarah does at this point are more or less inexcusable. But as an autistic person who knows what it's like constantly having to mask in public, I can in some ways also understand what motivated that behaviour. We have to remember that the entire reason Simon and Sarah switched to Hillerska was because she was being horrendously bullied at their old school. That is why the fact that she is being accepted and actually starts to make friends at Hillerska means so much to her. It's also the reason she's constantly trying so hard to fit in - she doesn't want to lose that. Even her seeking intimacy with August - while super gross, makes sense to me. It is already really hard for us to connect with people in an ordinary sense, and for some of us, finding love and intimacy is even further out of reach. August is likely the first person that has ever paid attention to her in *that* way, and while he was clearly doing it to manipulate her... Well, I can't fully blame her for falling for it. Especially considering that she's still so very young. Was it okay to betray Simon over it? Of course not, and she really should have known better. But... Well... I do think she is very well written, if nothing else. The fact that everyone is so flawed and makes mistakes is part of what I love about this show.
