      Biofire has a blood culture ID panel but it is post-culture. There are very few and mostly experimental and limited methods for bacterial ID from uncultured whole blood.

    Hi.
    Does the FilmArray GI detection depend on the type/nature of the sample (stools )?

    • @Biofiredx
      @Biofiredx  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hello Moratiwa,
      BioFire currently has a few panels on the market. Some of our sample types include: stool in Cary Blair media and nasal pharyngeal swab (NPS) in viral transport media (VTM). Although our pouches look similar the chemistry inside is different, as well as the processing protocol for each type of pouch. The instrument will only look for targets preloaded into pouch.
      I hope this answers your question. For further assistance please contact our customer technical support team at:

    how many sample can you test ?

    • @drewsworld876
      @drewsworld876 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately one at a time, i currently use this for COVID-19, great analyzer with very simplified user friendly PCR methodology. Turn around per test roughly around 45mins so it would be good to have few depending on your medical facility patient load.

      @@JessieVida a little late, but I'm a technologist in immunology. Depending on how many machines you have, but yes 1 sample at a time per machine. 45 minutes for results, so you can still run quite a few in a day. We have 4 in the lab I'm in
