    This is sweet. Do you know if DQ250 and DQ500 use the same bell housing bolt pattern?

    Make sure to replace the necessary coolant lines from the transmission. Also, be wary of the atc fuse and pull that as the car will have issues running. Buddy of mine bought a second hand swapped golf and had the same issues.

    • @RedBaronGarage
      @RedBaronGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes im working on the coolant lines right now🙏🏻 what does the atc fuse do and where can i find that?

    • @SnoCone218
      @SnoCone218 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RedBaronGarage its the automatic transmission control fuse. Or a fuse related to the functionality of the automatic transmission. It's located in the fuse box on the driver side of the dash. I can't remember the exact fuse location but I do know if you keep anything pertaining to the auto trans it will interfere with the functionality of the car when switching to manual trans. There are fuse diagrams floating around everywhere online and on forums you'd be able to pull up and find the exact fuse.

    Been thinking about this conversion myself... Did you get the measurements of the gearbox as mentioned around 20:00 that you can share at all?

    • @RedBaronGarage
      @RedBaronGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes i did some! Dont remember them now tho but i made a video explaining the driveshafts that i got and what you can choose from, you got the beetle dsg axels, or cutting original/donor axels and welding them together again basicly 👍 left i think you can get away with not cutting but not the right one

      @@RedBaronGarage mine will be differently unfortunately as I'm going from a modified O2M 6-speed. Was just hoping you had those measurements as a reference I could use :)

    • @RedBaronGarage
      @RedBaronGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Aah i see sorry dont have the measurements anymore… i know the 6speed inputshafts fit in the dsg to use the old axels atleast since they have other plates on the ends👍

      Do you mean the shifter? If so i spliced both dsg and shifter can high and low at the same spot so they comunicate via can 👍

    Do you know if the the car came auto from factory if it needs a pilot bearing?

    • @RedBaronGarage
      @RedBaronGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure, i dont know how the old autos input shaft looks, either way the flywheel came with the pilot bearing so should not be an issue 👍
