    Little tip; Never shake the fountain pen! Just squeeze a little in the cartridge before using it. If you shake it you can get inkt all over the place..
    Store your pen with the tip up, so your pen won’t get clogged.

    For art I want to keep, I use a ring binder with the plastic sleeve inserts. It’s nice and cheap, it keeps the drawings and/or paintings apart from each other, it keeps them flat, and you don’t need to worry about it being acid-free.

    • @TatianasArtandCraft
      @TatianasArtandCraft  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thank you for sharing! Do they make them in larger sizes though? My usual size for on the wall paintings so to say is 30x40 cm and up.

      @@TatianasArtandCraft You can get huge art folders with plastic sleeves. They aren’t ring binders, but they work pretty much the same way. They’re very large, and have separate plastic sleeves for each piece of artwork. You would need to look online at art shops, or in your local art shop to find one, though.

    Temu has a lot of great options for art protection pouches. They're heavy duty waterproof zipper pouches, folders & portfolios in lots of larger sizes. Very reasonable prices. I suppose the leather, zippers and sewing adds to the costs of pricier portfolios.

    I used to store my drawings on Itoya portfolios because they are acid-free but they end up being too expensive if you have too many or in different sizes. I found that jerry’s carries sleeves just like itoya in packs of 3 for less. Then since I have so many I found archival boxes from itoya and lineco, got a big 14x17 for my big watercolor paintings.

    Those fountain pens look very much like Lamy pens in their design and Cult Pens in the UK sell a convertor for about six UK pounds. Their actual Lamy pens are about £20 but they are great. I use an ink which Diamine made especially for CP in mine called Very Dark Brown but it is only water resistant. What you need is Rohrer & Klinger SketchINK…it comes in a good range of colours and is waterproof. If you sign up for their Penorama newsletter you will get 10% off. They are still shipping to Europe. Hope that is of interest 🙂

      Thank you so much for such profound information! They do look like Lamy and I was thinking if I should get “the real deal”… but you are right, I should probably try with a converter first, it would definitely be cheaper and might be good enough as I don’t use these pens that often for now. Thank you so much for taking your time to share all this info, highly appreciated!! 🙏😊😊😊

    In china, the paper size is how many times it is cut/folded and is always by 2, from the biggest original factory paper sheet. If you fold and cut one sheet of paper once you got 2 sheets. For instance, 2K is folded once, 16k is folded 8 times which is roughly the size of A3. 32K is about A4. 64K is similar to A5.

    Waterproof inks for fountain pen are more expensive than regular ink. So if they don't write in the description that ink is waterproof - it won't be for sure. It's like cotton watercolor paper - if it's cotton they will always inform about it 😁
    ...unfortunately I've seen (on AliExpress) paper blocks descpripted as cotton and on photos of actual item there was no "cotton" word on it, so the seller was wrong

    • @TatianasArtandCraft
      @TatianasArtandCraft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see, I will keep that in mind! 😊 It actually seems to be difficult to find water proof inks that are in cartridges already instead of a jar… 😔

    • @CATAZTR0PHE
      @CATAZTR0PHE 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TatianasArtandCraft normal ink has super fine particles in it. While waterproof ink is a different type of substance than regular ink, the producer must grind its particles so that it do not clog the fountain pen... but still its particles are larger (and therefore heavier) than regular ink, which is why, unfortunately, waterproof ink tends to clog the pen after a long time if you don't use it.
      That's why you shouldn't use india ink in a fountain pen because it has too large particles and it will clog your pen super quickly.
      Unfortunately looking for a cheap waterproof ink for a fountain pen is a search for the Holy Grail 😅 there are few brands and they are always more expensive than ordinary inks, because they are produced differently (probably the production process is more expensive? I'm just guessing).
      There are cheaper waterproof inks (chinese brand) on AliExpress though.

The last one is very expensive, in the same line as Arches and others. Maybe Paul Rubens is somewhere in between?
