I've stayed in Jaco many times in the early 2,000 s. Always surfed in Hermosa. Thank you for the drive-through, I remember the drive back to Jaco. ..... Nighttime / nightlife is a different creature 😂 Aloha
Hello! We will be there next week and I am seeing rain everyday. I know it’s rainy season so I don’t mind, but has there been any sun at all the last few days?
@@raechelthomas7448 the weather reports always say it’s raining every day but it’s not. No rain today at all. You can’t trust what the reports online say. Your weather will be great but do your activities early in case it does rain in the afternoon
I remember getting invited to the new Fiesta Hotel. It goes by another name now, still with a sprawling layout. The brochures never showed the beach for a reason. . It sought locals in those times, especially the typical tico family taking a 90 min. drive to get chuchecas and seafood . Some of my family opted to own a Punta Leona time share. Jaco was undesirable then and perhaps still. It's an easy skip for me, but Playa Hermosa is where my cousins select for a beach day trip. The area remains interesting as it's a transitional zone between two different climates and interesting. Last time I stayed there was at Villa Caletas with no beach access, but lovely. I also like their sister hotel in Turrialba, Saying that, Jaco is probably the worst beach option in Costa Rica unless you surf. Tencha recently closed in Cartago, and SJO is sketchy. Sex-pats have latched on to Jaco which is prevalent on most Jaco videos on YT. . That element makes it suck even more.
I was wondering how you got 45 minutes of Jaco as it's not so big, but you hit it out of park!!. I love Jaco and my wife not so much. Gonna buy some property there next summer when I retire and will use your services. Was just there twice this year and stayed at Airbnb behind Claritas and in Herradura. I like the beach bars by Los Suenos and up by your neck of woods, Vida Hermosa. Thank you so much and I always put your link and Michaels link on all those Facebook groups when I think it's in your wheel house. Cheers

Wow. I haven’t been there since the 90s. The main road was dirt and there was just a small strip of shops between the Best Western and the Discotheque.
It was a detailed and informative video that will help me when I take a trip that way. Thank you.

Hi Sarah thanks for this great tour video of Jaco. On the street you went up and down on with the Pop`s Ice Cream parlor I stayed a few times at a hotel named Parisio Del Mar . It`s close to the hotel Gaviotos do you know if the Paraiso Del Mar hotel is still open ? All I know is the owner of the Paraiso Del Mar has left Costa Rica and doesn`t own this hotel anymore. His name was Matt . Anyway thanks for this great Jaco video .

Was waiting for someone to notice that 😅 not in that area. I wasn’t worried and I did not park for too long. They don’t take plates often in jaco for parking.
I walked plenty of times on that road in Jaco where the gym is located and even remember vivid arguments with my girlfriend (she's my ex now too damn crazy) but none the less, i remember the exact locations of those arguments as you were driving. i certainly had great times there in Jaco. Such a strange little country with some beautiful women!!!
Great tour Sarah, I and my hubby are thinking of CR for 3 months a year. We were there from December to January and just loved it, we stayed at Pantuanes at Feista Resort. I am probably spelling it wrong. I am thinking of visiting again from Ontario Canada this December .
Does Jaco have the same water issues that parts of Guanacaste have ?
So far no. So that’s good! We get more rain than guanacaste here.
Really enjoyed this video. I haven't been to Jaco in 9 years. When I lived in the Central Valley, we went there to the beach quite often. It doesn't look like it changed much at all. That shopping area is new. Thanks for taking the time to do the video, it was great!
is the croc tour back? I heard it was closed due to cruelty to the alligatotrs?
