I visited Costa Rica twice walked a lot with my phone taking pictures with family never got to any problems ever... I love Costa Rica and the people too... Thanks for sharing this awesome video...Pura Vida.. By the way I'm moving to Costa Rica and going to look at Jaco this time.
I really like the commentary and appreciate not editing of crossing streets. It helps to give a realistic idea of where you can get by foot, and how long it would take. Great video. Thanks for the insights!
You can meet people from all over the World in Jaco. I met a guy from Holland, Germany, France and many others from Canada and the United States. It's a fascinating place to visit or live.
Thanks for sharing. I m going to Costa Rica in November as a solo traveler ( Birthday present to myself :) ). I will stay some days in Jaco. It s good to be prepared. :) I will be for the first time in Latin America.
My cousin and I landed at Oduber aiport and friends drove us to Tamarindo and playa Flamingo. From there we went to Puntarenas and the capital, and the daughter drove us to the Caribbean side, Port Limon, Cahuita, Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo. One beach in particular was Playa Arrecife which was really really beautiful, although the Pacific side is more built up.
Is Big Dan still at the Sunrise Cafe? I used to manage the Bird of Paradise Hotel, back when it was just the Paradise. I used to have a coffee with Dan in the morning and hear all the gossip of the town.
Really nice! I was in Tamarindo in July and then we crossed over to the capital and then the Caribbean. I took notice of how clean Tamarindo is, something that the resident's must be proud off. I did take a lot of video with my Gopro 10. Did you use the Volta grip?
Thanks for watching and commenting! To be honest I'm not sure what kind of grip we have but I don't think it is the one you mentioned. It's so old the name has faded off but it does the job.
Thanks for your comments ! Glad you enjoyed the video. Senor Harry's closed during the pandemic and a new restaurant called Morales Street has opened in that location. I pass by at 13:40 on the video :)
I once saw a tourist approach a regular drug dealer in Johannes Dankers park. I could see it but I couldn't hear the conversation. The tourist was angrily complaining about something. The drug dealer was a big guy and he had a baseball bat in his hand. The tourist was a small guy but he was so angry the he took his belt off and started whipping the drug dealer who had a baseball bat in his hand. I saw the ambulance take the tourist away and I never heard whether he lived or died..
I'm not so sure about these two locations. I read somewhere that Rioasis used to be Killer Munchies but I don't remember that far back. The other one you mentioned, I think I know which place you mean, and that one has been closed for a while (bar next to Edificio Cristal, across the street from the then Beattle bar, now Rolling Thunder)
@@JacoLive The place Senior Harry`s is the other side of the bridge a bit father than The Fruity Monkey store on the same side of the street but a bit farther . It`s right on a corner .
Just one thing to highlight something if I may. In Spanish when you see an special character like the one on the word "Jacó" the accent should go at the end. Americans pronounce ir Jáco and it should be pronounced jacó. The accent goes at the second vowel. Cheers and enjoy the country 😀.
Fabian, that's an unecessary comment and comes off Nationalist. Everyone will pronounce things differently depending on the language they are speaking and their native language. I'm quite sure you don't pronounce cappuccino like an Italian would, right? This guy speaks 3 languages, so maybe check yourself before you criticize someone's accent.
@@jacojacobeno6248 Hello Jacobeño. I do actually. Not only cappuccino all Italian cuisine dished. Now, why should I check myself? Just to double check?
@@jacojacobeno6248 and not sure of you need some sort of reading comprehension. My comment was more focused In the improvement. Read it again. I am certainly not trying to make fun of accents. I actually love accents.
Thanks for your feedback! I think for the next while I will be releasing a mix of walking videos where some have no commentary and some are narrated. I definitely understand how some people prefer one or the other. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks for commenting! I tend to pronounce Spanish words differently depending on whether I'm speaking English or Spanish (and depending on who I'm speaking to). In Spanish I'll use the accented 'o' but not always in English to an English audience. Kinda the same when saying 'San Jose' to another English speaking person versus to a local. Even for words without accents i.e. 'San Francisco' it usually seems more natural to pronounce it differently based on what language is being spoken if you get what I'm saying. It goes both ways... In a conversation in Spanish I would typically pronounce English words/cities with a more Spanish intonation as well. Hope you enjoyed the episode
Lived here numerous years and I tend to alternate between the more English pronunciation when speaking English and Spanish pronunciation when speaking Spanish. This is pretty common locally. Actually the only people who have mentioned this stuff have been people who aren't from the area... just saying 😂. I also pronounce Los Angeles "Los an- je- less" when speaking English and "Los an-he-lez" when speaking Spanish if you get what I'm saying. Thanks for flexing tho 😘. Pura vida ✌️

Would you recommend visiting Jaco in mid September? Would there be any risk of flooding or Hurricane?

Ofc San José!!

Hi! Is it safe to eat raw the fruits and vegetables from that Walmart you showed?
It's a grocery store but if you are worried about pesticides/food safety there is an organic food vendor at the weekly market every Thursday
@@JacoLive Thank you! How about bacteria, like in Mexico? Can tourists eat the vegetables raw, or will it get them sick?
Never heard of any issues
