don't bother by those comments " you promote chinese vehicules" I think, it is reality and people just do not want to accept or see, Chinese EVs are here to stay and they bring quality, technology, premium design at a reasonable price, different from cheap. Go for a BMW or Mercedes offering the same at this car.... at least you will pay 100K. No doubt my next car will be an EV from China. It seems the NIO EL6 has more leg room in the back?
They should look at the "bright" side, which is the competition will force their beloved German car-maker to make better product as well. So buy it or not, Chinese EV is good for them.
Thomas, I drive one of these, the performance model, specifically. I see from your video that the EU version lacks a ride customization option. On mine, I can adjust the following:
Power potential, regen, stability, front or rear drive, power steering (soft to hard,) ride height, ride comfort, and creep mode. Things that I don't like are that is hasn't a head up display, it could have had more rear air vents for the size of the vehicle. But the the thing that I really dislike is the ride on the Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires. I think that they are too harsh under certain conditions. There are times that I can feel every line on the roads that the thread blocks on the tires make contact with. Apart from that, it is a fantastic car.
In North America we will not even get a sniff of any of these cars.
Great review, thank you!
Have you got a confirmation that they truly will add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?
If so, is the connection wireless or with cable?
Reason for asking is that it has been told that ACP and AA will not be offered in earlier statements from Xpeng.
At this point it is all about gaining market share. Tesla still has the largest production capacity and some first mover advantages, but VW can get to 10 million vehicles per year and this investment is one way to get there.
great review thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Double click the controller and the charge port opens up. Not juat 1 click. 2 click for open and closing...
The wheels😍
I prefer a instrument panel over HUD. HUD is nice to have, but supplementary, you can't replace the panel with a HUD.
Hi. I really enjoyed your review .It's so informative. I really need your suggestion or recommendation. Indeed, i am planning to buy an electric Suv.
Now i am super confused with xpang g9 and Bmw ix 40.
As you reviewed both, will you please suggest to me which one is overall better?
Thank you 😊
Glad it was helpful!
How do you compare this build and driving experience to the Zeekr 001 ?
a lot of similarities !
I watched the video of x9,it's luxurious inside, I wish it was SUV
I would love to see this vehicle here in Australia. Nio is in the process of setting up here. BYD has been here for a year now and is doing very well. My wife has the Atto3 and I have just ordered the Seal long range rear motor 230kw.
BYD pricing here is extremely competitive. Our Atto was $A49k drive away before incentives and my Seal is $A63k drive away before incentives.
Thomas I like your reviews and I think you are very fair in your assessments.
thanks for the feedback and appreciate your input !
They are entering Thailand this year, so it's really just a matter of time for them to reach Australia.
Is there not an option for 7seats in G9 EV?
They have released a 7 seater MPV X9, which XPENG said they designed it with SUV personality in mind. After seeing the real car and test-drive, I would say they've delivered on the promise.
Isn’t this video just a copy from Autogefühl channel? Am I missing something, since it’s also posted here?
This channel is dedicated to Electric cars reviewed on autogefuhl !
Does this Xpang G9 have a synthesized "engine" sound? This should be a feature on every EV, so that sensation of speed is rooted in the driving experience.
You can turn it on/off if you want to.
I think this should be an important topic in any EV review!
Not really. They have an option for "Engine" under the low-speed pedestrian warning sound.
What is the battery made from...?
LFP
The interior, mostly the seats looks awesome. Really like the color, it makes them look super comfortable. The car itself however looks really bland and not something you´d turn your head to look at.
Yes, but over time, you can really appreciate the simplicity in its elegance. I wouldn't changed anything apart from the tail-light.
Leather is quite sustainable. Its a natural product. It just not vegan.
The socalled vegan lether on the other hand is a form of prastic, which means it is made from fossil fuel.
It is hard to be politically correct these days.
This is exactly right. I engaged in debate with this guy on his Autogefuhl channel. He was ignorant of the underlying details and unable to defend his position. He's a vegan who regularly uses his car review channel to promote his ideology, so I think it was more than fair to push back about it in his comment section. I politely argued the statistics and illogical moral imperative and was banned as a result.
Mate, its not them need to tweak the software, it is you who needs to read user manual😂😂 battery cap opens by double clicking
This car is almost as good looking as your girlfriend lol I love the detail design elements e.g. knurled trim and chrome interior details. Excellent video and looking forward to more content :)
I appreciate that!
How is leather seating antithetical to sustainability? The vast majority of leather is a byproduct of the meat industry.
700 million dollars????
yes, 0.7 billion.
I don't for a moment buy that excuse that they have to remake the software from scratch, or that it's driving L4 in China. That's just an excuse to jerk customers around that complain about shitty software. Tesla never had to re-engineer their software for the European market, and speaking as a developer myself I can't see why they would need to redesign every piece of software for "data-security" reasons.
If they share any personal information, all they have to do is inform the user before sending it, that doesn't need an entire rebuild only an informed consent module.
I experienced the G9 in China, but not yet Tesla Autopilot in the USA....the G9 drove very reliably without driver intervention and parks itself, and all in all, it was a very relaxed ride. I agree with you that as a non-IT specialist, it is also hard for me to imagine that the difference between China and Europe is so significant....but you hear this from many Chinese manufacturers (Nio, MG). I myself will order a G9, unfortunately the C6 arrives too late in Germany.
